Media give "Too many errors. Giving up" using bluetooth earphones
joselveas posted a topic in Android TV / Fire TV
When using bluetooth earphones (galaxy buds live) on emby for android tv (ver 2.1.10g on chromecast 4) any media (only videos) give the error "Too many errors. Giving up". For context, i have normally 3 audio output: HDMI, bluetooth speaker and bluetooth earphones. Only the earphones give the error. I try disabling the transcoding on the server, disabling the option "burn subtitles" on the app for andorid and the audio output (in the app) i try the 3 options (automatic, dolby and stereo) but nothing work. The "solution" i found is disconnect the earphones, play the media with the speakers or the hdmi output an then, when the media is playing, connect the earphones and it work. (obviously not the best solution) *Sorry for the bad english, but spanish is my native language. **Logs of emby when the error occurs are attached. ***desktop version is 4.8.3.0 and app version is 2.1.10g used in chromecast 4 (not 4k version) with android TV last logs emby.txt -
"too many errors" failures when stereo/multi-channel sent to mono.

Something that I noticed recently that you may already be aware of: on a Google TV dongle, if I configure the device to send Bluetooth audio to a mono Bluetooth device, Emby fails all video playback with the "too many errors, giving up" message. It is consistent with Live TV, ripped movies, recorded TV. Probably everything I tried was Dolby Digital 5.1. I tried both Direct Play and transcoding, but it didn't matter. I was doing this to get at least ok sound from a old computer monitor I was repurposing as a guest room TV. The monitor has horrible sound. Anyway, I then replaced the mono device (a Nest Mini) with a stereo Bluetooth device, (JBL Charge) and everything worked perfectly. As that was a fix, I didn't poke around further. Other Android video apps, such as Netflix, Prime Video, successfully play back on the mono speaker. I tried Auto and Downmix to Stereo in Emby audio settings, disabling all surround sound in the Google TV, and nothing worked for Emby. The behavior is identical between the Emby for Android and Emby for Android TV apps. I didn't grab logs because I'm happy to just use the stereo Bluetooth speaker as my own fix (it sounds a lot better), but thought I'd report it on the offhand chance you didn't already know. I'd guess that most Bluetooth speakers are stereo, as are all headphones, so likely not a big issue for the vast majority of users. I searched for this for just a minute but nothing popped up that seemed similar. Thanks! -
Hi there! I'm having a problem with my TV app. Whenever I start seeing a LIVE TV Channel, it displays a message that says "Too many errors. Giving up". Could you please help me with that? Greetings.

Hello, I sent in the log from the fire stick Emby app. Additional details request for posting logs are below: I was clicking resume on a 4k HVEC file of "The Martian". This occurred on 3/24/2020 at 11:39 pm Eastern Standard Time (EST). The name of the local user logged in was "Michael". If there is more information needed please let me know. The 4k video is in .mkv format and for what I can see in the dashboard while attempting to play the video is it tried to convert it to a format but stops and attempts 3 times. Then on the firestick give the error "Too many errors". Thanks for the assistance.
