Try the "Genre Cleaner" plugin, I think this will do, what you need.

What I did is just reverse proxy Emby through a virtualhost already using ssl and I use certbot to automatically renew that certificate, also one less port that needs to be opened since 80/443 are already open.

I have a "Film-Noir" genre I've ended up with somehow. I want to change it to "Film Noir." I tried deleting it from all the films to which it was applied, and then applying the "Film Noir" genre in its place, but I'm guessing genres are stored in a way that ignores the dash and the genre doesn't get deleted when no films are in it, so...they all just went right back into the "Film-Noir" genre. Is there a way I can fix it? And for that matter, is there a way I can see all my genres without going into a library first? Doing that means I only see genres present in that library, so I have to do it for every library to make sure I can see all genres.

Hey guys, my apologies if I'm overlooking something. I installed the Auto Box Set plugin today, and it informed me that the functionality is now built-in. So, I checked this article https://emby.media/support/articles/Collections.html?q=collection - and it shows how to create a collection and all. But I'm wondering, how do I group movies within a Library folder? For example, let's say I have a library named Movies. When I download parts 1, 2, and 3 of the movies, the posters are shown individually. Can I group them together so that they won't take up much space on the screen? Or am I totally mixing up the functionality of this plugin? Thanks in advance.

Aktuell funktioniert Live TV nicht. In der 4.6 hats mal funktioniert, danach habe ich das aufgrund der Fehler bei der Aufnahme nicht mehr benutzt. Hello! I downloaded 2.2.19 yesterday on my older iPad Mini 2, which I use exclusively as an Emby player nowadays. The previous version was working perfectly, however the new version when opened will show the Emby splash screen/logo and then immediately go back to the iPad home screen. The app remains open, and if I click it from recent apps it repeats this process without ever loading past the logo screen. I've tried uninstalling the app/restarting the device but unfortunately the same happens. I noticed there was a similar issue posted on here but with crashes at different points, apologies if I should have added this to the same thread but it looked slightly different.

The remuxed file (now @L5.1) seems to play fine. So, something about the original file @L5.2 seems to throw off emby, but it did work with the Dune's internal player, set in emby as external player.

Dear all, I am using Emby for quite a while now. Really love it. But I stumbled across a issue. I have a TV Show with +100 Episodes, I need the subtitles for it, since it is not my motherlanguage. Sadly there where no subtitles delivered with this show, and OpenSubtitles found some for me, but I have to delay the subtitles for each episode to 10 seconds (10'000 ms). Since the delay can only be changed by +50 or -50 ms, that is quite a tapping and tapping to get there. I just wanted to ask or bring up the topic, that a simpler way to set the delay would be veeery appreciated. Note: Yes I did try to edit the Subtitles .sr file myself to delay it, but that breaks the episode (video and audio is laggy) Thank you very much in advance!

Thanks for your response, visproduction. It might well be that all that is causing the spike in CPU, but I'm trying to get .srt files with my videos, and somehow they don't get downloaded. I'm still trying to figure out why that isn't happening. If, after that, I still have CPU spiking when playing videos that's something else to try and deal with, but first off: I'm looking for .srt files.. Not giving up...

I have run a few more tests. The connection was previously made via a DynDNS URL. When I use the IP, the streaming works. It seems to be a problem with the app with DNS resolution (but only for streaming, not for the gui) In the meantime, I have also installed a reverse proxy to enable HTTPS/SSL. Unfortunately, this didn't help. I still have to use the IP instead of the URL Is this a problem with the app or with how the Samsung TV operates DNS resolution?

The database was not corrupt before the upgrade. However, in recent months he has become easily corrupted. I did the database recovery guide via: sqlite3 library.db ".recover" | sqlite3 library-recovered.db and I replaced the library with the copy of the recovered one. But not often does it return to being corrupt. Is there a method to analyze the library and identify where it is corrupt?

Something I have noticed which I haven't been able to figure out is that even though all my movies and series are recognized it doesn't show you the bio info. Unless you you specifically go to that actor/actress and click refresh metadata. I'll attach a screenshot of what I mean, one is of where there is no bio info and the other is where the bio info is displayed after having clicked refresh metadata for that specific actor. Under Movie library settings I have the following enabled: Metadata Readers: Nfo Movie Metadata downloaders: The MovieDB The OpenMovieDatabase The TheTVDB Metadata savers: Nfo Under Tv series library settings I have the following enabled: Metadata Readers: Nfo Tv Metadata downloaders: The MovieDB The OpenMovieDatabase The TVDB TV Maze Metadata savers I have my movies sorting program, placing local nfo files in the same directory as the movie, with the movie name and nfo extension. For example: "American Psycho (2000).nfo". The same goes for the Tv series library, in the main series folder I have "tvshow.nfo" and then each season is in a separate folder where each episode has it's own nfo file. I've tried going to the Movies and Tv series library and selecting "Refresh all metadata", but that doesn't seem to fetch the bio info for the actors and actresses listed under a movie or tv serie. Am I doing something wrong or am I missing something because I find it strange that I would have to manually select "refresh metadata" separately instead of it being refreshed when I tell it do it it for everything under each library?

Got it. Thanks so much for the detailed reply and for explaining everything thoroughly. While you all work on things, can you give me some suggestions for how I can avoid this moving forward? Different file types to look for, or other things I can adjust?

I’ve been using Emby for a few weeks now. I have all my media stored on a Synology. I have a Mac Mini M2 with 8gb of RAM that runs the Emby Server. A few days ago I decided to clean up my “Movies” folder on my Synology and I put everything into folders instead of all the files just sitting in the root. I also enabled Emby to save related images in the corresponding folders. Since I’ve done that I’ve noticed no matter the device, whether on a web browser or the native apps my media will stop and then start playing a few seconds later. I never had this issue before. And also the website hangs up all the time when browsing to pick media. When I click on something I get a blue spinning ring, but if I refresh the page usually it works fine. Before I did the folders the website was super snappy and had no issues. Are the folders causing this or might it be something else?

I get no compatible streams error when transcoding. In next version I must change the plugin structure/helpers. Kodi has still issues with detection of the content type for audio and pictures. Current plan, the core module might be re-defined as a Kodi-script plugin and another (video) helper will be added as dependency.

I was using all the image fetchers available. The images were not inside my folder. Earlier I even tried using Kodi's Files-add videos and it was fast but didn't like result as much as I liked Emby as I had used Emby before. I felt like I was on a dial-up service. I eventally tried Identify with with IMBd's ID it was also extremely slow but worked sometimes I got no poster but then I tried Edit Images to get a poster. Bottom line all is well now. thanks for the help

I turned on this feature, but I don't know what the trigger conditions are. I tried watching two episodes of a TV show in a row without clicking on Emby, and then I found that the system did not prompt me with "Would you like to continue watching?" This feature is not very user-friendly. I hope to add a sleep timer feature that allows users to choose to automatically shut off after 10 minutes, 30 minutes, or other durations of playback.

Just an update to results of the investigations: All the files that have this issue have a duration of less than 2 seconds. The problem arises when these clips need to be transcoded. Symptoms observed when attempting to transcode tiny test video clips of 1 second or 2 second duration were either hung playback (does not actually start) or immediate playback error @prioirty_queue Advice for now is to convert these tiny clips to lower bitrate to avoid need to transcode. Test this out with a few clips into a test library
