So... it would work for me. Realistically, I don't want to use one program for my music and another for my videos - having one program was sorta the point of me having something like this in the first place - but it sounds like a hybrid approach - use the tags when they're there, see if anything can be deduced from the folder structure when they're not - might solve a lot of problems. And allow the metadata editor in the UI to adjust the tags in the music files.

In cases of collections containing multiple media types, that is currently by design. Can you please show us an example of a collection that is side scrolling? What's in it?

Decided to run it again to get a fresh log since I was messing around with other movies. This time it did around 10 blips then actually started. You can see the blips in the middle left of the screenshot then started working. Took at least a minute of sitting before starting to play. Here are the logs anyways to see why there is such a delay and several attempts. ffmpeg-transcode-0ac814c9-8cd2-4e1b-9230-6c0e5664f819_1.txt embyserver.txt

New server update changed the layout of all my collections!!
Tenyrsgone27 replied to Tenyrsgone27's topic in General/Windows
Yes scrolling VS grid, there ya go, however you need to understand it. Before it was a grid now it's a stupid scroll. Needs to go back to a grid view. Before server upgrade to latest version: Layout was 1000% awesome in a grid format After server upgrade to latest version: Layout is now 1 row of movies in a scrolling format t. <-- Obviously the latest update did this. Since your saying the collections tab has nothing to do with the file format, then it's Emby Server latest update that changed it from grid to scrolling. Needs to be switched back to grid view. -

Your certificate is working now but I don't know how you're exposing 8920 outside the container. The IP says it's 172.16.1.66 but your port forwarding showed 10.0.0.102. Should you be using Host Network for this?

Yes currently a known issue in HWA and PGSSUB. There are actually several topics but it is a scaling issue.

I did not but just now did. Same results with the blips then no stream available. I disabled HW transcoding to make sure it wasn't a transcoding issue and CPU does it fine.

4.8.0.5 Some Collections are side scrolling
Happy2Play replied to jiggity's topic in General/Windows
Can you test New? But will guess existing may be broken requiring recreation, but just a guess as the view is already written. But still don't know for sure how to make one that scrolls and one that does not/ -

New server update changed the layout of all my collections!!
Happy2Play replied to Tenyrsgone27's topic in General/Windows
I am confused where is this image from as it is not from Collections and per the icon it would have to be Folder view. There is no correlation in these two views as Collection have nothing to do with folder structure. But sounds like the issue of what causes scroller vs grid? Still confused as Collections tab/library does not work off structure at all. Collection are independent of any structure sort of as they do have library restrictions from a location standpoint as library is restricted to that library and My Media Collections is global all libraries but still nothing to do with what is inside any given folder. -

New server update changed the layout of all my collections!!
MBSki replied to Tenyrsgone27's topic in General/Windows
Even if there's more than 1 media type, there still shouldn't be horizontal rows. What if there are 100's of items in each media type? It should be vertical to accommodate big collections. -
Yep, which is another odd thing I've noticed (though not new, it's always been the case) - clicking on that takes me to sign in page, I sign in, and come right back to the same screen - as in, even after signing in with Emby connect, I still have the same 3 options, My server, Add Server, Sign in with Emby Connect. Does Emby Connect use a different port than accessing Emby directly via IP address? Does it force to https perhaps? I have the port forwarding for 8920 setup, and I can see that port externally when using a port listener app. But I can't connect to Emby via https.

it says min value is 9000. I thought I had it working before on port 8096 even with truenas port being off, but I maybe mistaken.

If I understand it correctly you're telling the docker container to use 9096 instead of 8096 and I'm not sure that that's correct since I don't see anything that would be mapping 9096 to 8096 in the container. Again, not particularly versed on TrueNAS Scale but it might be a good idea to match that for now.
