As far as I know there's still no hardware transcoding for MacOS m1 chips. Numerous user have been requesting/asking when it will be enabled .

I performed some tests and disabled transcoding for my user, it seems to be directly playing TrueHD on Apple TV. Codecs I have tested with transcoding disabled and without issues: 1080p H264 AAC AC3 TRUEHD 4K HDR 10 HEVC 4K Dolby Vision HEVC DTS-HD MA

Just tried running the video after unchecking DX11VA and restarting the server. Unfortunately the problem persists. I do appreciate the help as I am clueless.

I didn't necessarily think I did, but I had it in place anyway. If I go to tv.mydomain.com internally on port 443, Caddy is going to be what is answering. If I hit http://tv.mydomain.com:8096 directly, it should be hitting Emby directly. I was trying to make it so a mobile device behaves exactly the same if it is in my house or if it is remote.

Victor240 started following Trakt not adding new tv episodes but watched state works fine

Hello, I have Emby server 4.8.3 on a Synology NAS and there's an issue with the Trakt plugin. Adding TV episodes to the library of Trakt has stopped working. If I manually add an episode that I have on my emby library it is later removed. This is from Emby log: 2024-05-18 13:04:39.110 Info App: Removing item from database, Type: Series, Name: Young Sheldon, Path: /volume1/Emby/Σειρές/Young.Sheldon.S07E14.1080p.WEB.H264-SuccessfulCrab[TGx], Id: 64242 Strangely enough, when I watch this episode, it's correctly marked as watched in Trakt. Any ideas?

Why do you think you need to use the split DNS configuration and use the same name on both networks? Is Caddy only used for WAN access and LAN is direct to the server? Are you trying to use HTTPS on both WAN and LAN? Apps on mobile devices can already switch between LAN and WAN connections as long as the Emby network settings are correct. One of the problems with DNS these days is the advent of DoH and how some applications and possibly devices can choose to override or ignore your network settings for name resolution.

The issue might be caused by different methods decoding and encoding the material.

Hello, I'm a Plex user, but I've been trying Emby these days and it seems like a good alternative except for a few details. In the image, you can see how it's transcoding TrueHD audio to AC3 at 384Kbps. Here's where I find the first difference. This conversion could be done to FLAC since Apple TV supports it, maintaining lossless quality. That's how Plex does it. Another issue is that when selecting a PGS subtitle, it's also transcoding the video, as shown. I'm not sure of the reason, but Plex doesn't transcode in that case. Lastly, to search for a subtitle, a subscription is required, which isn't the case in Plex.

Problem with DTS / DTS-HD Sound on Dune Homatics Box R 4K+ with ATV 12
DonaldFaQ posted a topic in Android
Hello there, Dune roll out a new firmware update for his Dune HD Homatics Box R 4K Plus. With this update now all missed features working well (Auto Frameswitch and DTS-HD Sound passthrough). With the official EMBY App from the Google Playstore you cannot use DTS or DTS-HD sound via passthrough. There is only silence and my AVR says no audio input. DTS:X passthrough works very well and all other formats, too. I hope this will fixed in the near future. KODI + EMBY plugin works well with DTS / DTS-HD sound. -
Try this: http://x.x.x.x:8089/devices/M3U-PlutoTV/channels.m3u?format=ts M3U-PlutoTV - is what Channels should have called Pluto when you added it unless you assigned it a different name - If you look at "Sources" in Channels it will show you the name of each source. That is the name to use.

Can I cast from Android phone to Fire Cube 3 ? When I use Emby on my Android phone, several devices are shown, to which I can cast. But not my Fire Cube 3. Is this actually possible?

Now that I have found my old account "lja", Is it possible to delete the "HTConnect" account without affecting "lja"? @Abobader

You could also try adding by the UNC name vs IP address I am puzzled that VLC won't play it though.... Can you post the M3U? Sanitized of course.
-
That should be fine. I ran for years on a windows PC with Emby and Channels was running in Docker without issue.
-
It's only this one video, and it is not h.265. It won't solve the problem, but I might just try re-ripping it and seeing what happens.
-
ok ill try that soon, by the way, Pluto for channels and channels dvr run on docker on that same machine too.
-
Try using loopback IP(127.0.0.1) instead of machine IP address 192.x.x.x
-
Yes they are on the same pc!
-
We will, it's planned, not just a hopeful.

mkitchin started following Emby Caddy v2 Setup with Cloudflare

Thanks again. This is a great guide and I enjoyed getting some experience with Caddy and Cloudflare. I have another question regarding local access. I have split DNS running so tv.mydomain.com resolves to my internal server IP on my network and externally through Cloudflare. I thought this would force local traffic to stay local when at home. It the actual video is still running through Cloudflare. This is the network traffic when watching a video from my local network. The 172 IPs are Cloudflare. My caddyfile is basic (below). Any idea how I can keep this traffic local? It is mainly for mobile device that might be local or remote. { email ***@gmail.com } tv.***.com { tls ***@gmail.com { dns cloudflare ************************************* } log { output file C:\caddy\logs\emby_access.log { roll true # Rotate logs, enabled by default roll_size_mb 10 # Set max size X MB roll_gzip true # Whether to compress rolled files # roll_local_time true # Use localhost time roll_keep 3 # Keep at most X log files roll_keep_days 7 # Keep log files for X days } } encode gzip reverse_proxy http://localhost:8096 { header_up X-Real-IP {remote_host} } }
