I have got a Samsung UE 55 TU7022KXXH Crystal UHD 4K Smart TV (firmware ver. 213.3) and the mentioned application works perfectly.

A simple Philips FM08FD70B/10 Pendrive was formatted to FAT32 by using Windows 10.

Downloaded tizen.zip was extracted to the root of the pendrive. (Mentioned folder was appeared.)

The pendrive was pluged into the TV and a notification was appeared on the right top corner.

Installation was finished successfully and EMBY application was appeared in the HUB of the TV.

hello luke, i have successfully installed the https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Releases/raw/master/tizen/tizen.zip  app on my samsung ue65ru7025 TV via USB.

but i got an issue with playback with it. the .SRT subtitles on mkv movies within minutes are no more syncronized with the video. the subtitles shift overtime.

is there a way to fix this ?

Hi @turpentine please open a topic in the Samsung section of the community and provide the information requested here:

Thanks.

I had installed emby on my samsung tv but today i got the message :The application cannot be executed because the validity period has expired.

so i downloaded the latest usb version and removed the old one (i had to last time so i did it again) but when i plug in the usb drive the tv only ask me what to do with the storage device en no installation.

The userwidget dir is in the root of the drive.

it looks like it doesn't regornize the stuff in the app dir  (used same usb drive i did last time)

Ik have a  samsung ue50nu7099 with latest firware

Any ideas?

I've tried to install it, but wasn't successful. I ended up with this error:

My Samsung TV No is UNU7120, and my current firmware version is 1260.

I've tried with a FAT32 and NTFS pen drive.

Como se arregla esto? antes lo veia, ahora no puedo

Did you follow these instructions carefully?

Hi. Yes. The only thing i dont have is a 4gb flash so cant format to fat16. Other than that i have followed the steps.

Hi @veez999

What size drive did you use?

If not Fat16, what format did you use?

Can you see the files in folder "userwidget" on the drive when plugged into a PC?

Hi. Using a 32 gb drive with fat32. Yes, I can see the files on pc.

It could be since it's not fat16 it's not being recognized on the TV.

I would configure it exactly as it's supposed to be setup to remove any obstacles.

It’s possible that 32Gb drive might be too big as well. Just a thought.

I wouldn't think that would be the case.  32Gb isn't that big. Many of us use 64, 128, 256 pretty routinely

I've got thumb drives up to 8 TB that work with everything I've tried including my Samsung TV.  Sounds great but it's a bit bigger than Big Lighter which is ok I guess, but too darn slow (very slow). I'd rather have 1 TB that's fast but had to try one as they were 50% off on Amazon. Should have been 75% off. :)

The problem is likely that it wants Fat16 so maybe just reformatting the existing thumb drive at any size will allow the TV to read the thumb drive correctly.

Ok formatted the flash drive with disk part on windows 11.drive is now on fat format and installed Emby successfully. Thanks for your help. 2 issues I'm getting with this.. 1 is everytime i log in, it pops us saying their is a newer version available(currently 1.2.6

Then when Im connecting to an external shared server, I'm getting your stream had been terminated. You are not allowed to transcode 4k content. My internet settings on Emby is not set to auto or max. I have made it according to my line speed. I don't have this issue with Shield although that has ethernet and TV only wireless.

Sounds good you got that working.

1.2.6 was just released so it's good you're getting the notification.  You will want to upgrade to that version.

It's hard to say what the issue is with the shared server but it sounds like they're running the 3rd party plugin the cuts off 4K streams if not direct played so they don't have to transcode the stream. If you crank it up to maximum and it is able to direct play I'd be almost positive it's the 3rd party plugin.  In either case I'd contact the admin of that server to enquire about the settings used for 4K.

1.2.6 is the latest store release which I think is the reason he's getting the notification.

That's possible.  The USB version of the app also has a built in Emby notification as Samsung automatically expires the USB package after 30 days, so we prompt the user with a notification to install the latest USB version before Samsung expires it.

That prompt triggered yesterday, so if he's been trying to install 1.2.6 and was finally successful yesterday, he would immediately have been prompted for the next release.  Luke release the 1.2.7 USB version yesterday.

So you saying that I have to do this process every month until Samsung approves on their store?

Unfortunately, yes.  That is the case.
