Hallo Luke

Ich habe ein Samsung UE55HU8590. Ist es möglich, dies für Emby zu aktualisieren?
Haben mehrere Stunden versucht. Kann es nicht bekommen.
Welche Dateien muss ich mitnehmen? Vielen Dank im Voraus.

What version of the app are you using now?

For your model TV, you can only install this Tizen version of the app if you have a Samsung Evolution kit installed.  If this is the case, then you can install the Tizen version of the app from the app store or via USB installation.

Otherwise, you need to install the older Orsay version of the app. 

Depending on availability in your region, the official Orsay app can be installed from the App store on the TV.

If the app is not available in the region/store, then you can install the legacy community app from here : https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/9869-samsung-orsay-smarttv-2011-2015-community-app-install-instructions/&do=findComment&comment=277344

I'm looking forward to install the Emby app on my Samsung UN55MU700 (OS: T-KTMAKUC-12903, BT-S) Smart TV. Is this TV set compatible with the EMBY App?

A quick google search shows this is a TIZEN OS TV so Emby should be available on it.

Thanks for the kind support:) Unfortunately I only have a first generation of the Samsung Evolution kit. Here in Germany the new version Evolution Kit SEK-4500 is unfortunately not available. Even with a fat32 USB stick, I have not yet had any success inserting the Emby app. The Orsay app samsung Store is unfortunately not available in my region You can log in as Develop ("Develop" user, password "000000" or blank for some models) by clicking the menu button, then selecting Smart Hub and then selecting the "Samsung Account" menu on your remote control. I've tried that too. I wanted to sign in with a developer account. Unfortunately, this fails because the ID / password is not supported in the Samsung software. You have to enter an email address before you can continue. I would like to have Emby on my Samsung UE55HU8590

thanks for the hint. I will probably buy this device then.

test for yourself whether it still works with one or the other USB stick. but don't give me much hope.

It would have been nice, an app variant would have worked.

Hi. Thanks for much for the install. It works well on my Samsung Q60R. My issue is that it doesnt give you chapters to seek like Android. Will there be a newer revision soon?

I have a SAMSUNG QE55Q90T and installed emby via usb, it was running fine for around a month until 2 days ago this error message appears whenever i try to open the app.

This is a most annoying phenomenon. Is because of that because the samsung is the emby appot probára allows it to install that is onto 30 days. Solution it that wipe and 30 days újratelepited you are the 89 emby version you put it back it does not do a mistake like this

Hi, yes you need to come back to our website and download and install the newest USB version. Samsung only allows them to be used for 30 days.

It is Samsung policy. We are trying to get listed in their app store worldwide and then you'll have a much better update experience. But right now we're doing the best that we can given the cards that have been dealt to us.

If the app is not available in your app store then at the moment this is the only way to get it installed.  It is the beta version but is very stable and generally not far ahead of the store release version

Hey Luke - i assume the the community can’t do anything to help get the app approved? Such as submitting a support for the app etc

Weird the app has been ok for other countries for ages and we still can’t get it here in Aus. Clearly it works… doesn’t make sense why they have per country policy on apps.

They would put this into him rather instead of many useless applications. LG so nicely update. into Samsung big one I was disappointed on this space. The samsung does it though the emby than it LG DS VIDEO

Another Australian (premium) user.  I didn't mind sideloading, but I was extremely disappointed that this meant monthly reinstalls.
Hopefully this can be resolved, and not something that ends up in the too hard basket.

On a more upbeat note, I (and more importantly the missus) have been very impressed how snappy the Emby app is Tizen :)

@Luke not sure you seen this as the tag didn’t work

 

is there anything the user base can do or send to Samsung to try and get the app on the store ? Clearly they are ok with Plex…
