Hang on Windows Emby Theater App

Tried today's version of the Windows App (1.1.556.0) + server version 4.8.6.0, and the Windows App still hangs with that video/series, even when subs are disabled. No issues with other videos, so... I'll just leave it as a "I have to get a better version of that series" (the video was encoded a long time ago, and subs are kind of messed up even when playing it on VLC). Thanks anyway! PS: great to see the speed button there!

    Photos not showing correct size

I have brought this up before, but it is apparently time to revisit as it is still not corrected. Photos on the Android app (on a tv) are not being displayed correctly. I am including screen shots so you can see the difference. I updated the server this morning and the apps are installed by the system, I am no longer installing any beta apps! Server version 4.8.6.0 Android for TV version 2.1.10g Android version 3.3.86 There will be 4 pics, first screenshot of settings page for TV app 2.1.10g, then the photo, next is screenshot of Android app 3.3.86, and last is same photo. You will see (by paying attention to the lower left corner of the photo where the signature is) that the Android for TV app displays the photo correctly, while the Android app cuts off the bottom (and maybe more). Hope this info will help you guys fix this issue.

    Invalid Username/Password

I don't disagree - but as per the original reply from @sa2000, you originally got a 403 - so it was correctly following http standards. It logged this, but failed to report this to the user as Device Access denied (Authorisation) - you had correctly entered the username and password, thus you were Authenticated and thus it is ok to send you this informative message. If you were not Authenticated then you would have been sent a 401 instead regardless of the device access, which at that point, should never even have been queried.
  7. Tbh if this is all new you, its going to be a hard learning curve. I suggest using the os you know for your server. Even if you get it setup How are you going to maintain it to solve problems if and when they popup ?

  10. Hi, I have added my movies and audiobook folders to the library successfully but I am unable to add my TV folder. I am able to to click up until the immediate parent folder but as soon as I click the TV folder, it goes blank. I have attached screenshots for a bit more clarity. I have also given the Emby (internal user) the required permissions to access and use the folder but it doesn't change anything. Please let me know if you have seen this before and how it can be fixed. Thanks v4.7.14.0-724071400, installed from Synology package center

    Downloads Vanishing?

Hello, I had a similar problem with my Android devices. I only deleted one episode on the server (I chose a specific episode and clicked "Delete"). Then all the downloaded movies and series on all the devices disappeared (for multiple users, after reloading Emby for Android).
  13. Today
  14. Server Version: 4.9.0.17 beta OS: Windows Server 2022 So I've migrated to a new machine and have been slowly going through and regrouping movies with multiple resolutions and or deleting the lowest resolution if it's below 1080p. What has been happening is the version not deleted is being added to the front of 'Latest Movies'. I don't actually touch the movie of higher resolution other than to see it's resolution when picking which version to delete from storage using the WebUI. I'm not sure why it's thinking that the other files are new addition to storage.

problems with "No such file or directory"

Copy a sample of those files to local storage while preserving the full path except for the mnt2 or other location of your choice. The idea is to have the same names, language characters, owner, groups and permissions in play but not nfs.

  18. Good morning Luc No, I have never downloaded an apk on the shield. I have windows 10. I'll look in the settings to find this "smb". I don't know what it is. I'm going to try the tutorial you gave me Thanks a lot

problems with "No such file or directory"

The mnt2 path was intended to exclude nfs using local storage. You've shown directory permissions but not file permissions or ownership.

Created /mnt2 and mount NFS still the same
  22. @phi303is the problem still there ? Have you enabled debug options? You can go through this and after it hangs re-install the go through the steps to send logs and giving the time and timezone and user account name and also getting the server logs in case there are some server aspects

    Invalid Username/Password

In doing so - you have also just confirmed that account exists .. without any Authentication ? You should not be mixing Authentication and Authorisation. If anybody Authenticates - be it via a valid known login or brute force - does not change the fact that Authentication has happended and the next 'stage' of security is to check the Authorisation. HTTP 403 is well defined to mean Authentication has been accepted but permission to proceed further is denied. A locked account has to be Authenticated for you to know it is locked In any known system that I have ever used, if my account is locked - I don't get to know that before I have sucessfully Authenticated ...

    Tone Mapping?

When you have HDR content that needs to be converted for any reason. The only reason to disable those is if you are having a problem with them (like the machine doesn't have enough grunt to do it).
  27. ebr

    Invalid Username/Password

Suppose the hacker was trying different passwords, getting a 401 repeatedly until the lockout hit. Then they guess right and get the 403. That was what I was referring to when saying it could actually be an authentication issue. And now we've just told them they got it right... Therefore, i would think we should return the 403 on the locked account without even trying to authenticate.
