ServerNoob005 started following Some movies not showing up in Emby- Round 2 and When do and don't Specials appear as seasons?
-
Good evening, I'll be brief, but again to give quick background on myself: Plex user checking out emby. Title is as above. I have 2 anime tv shows. One that has 6 specials and one that has 2 specials. What I am unable to understand is that they are made the same way with regard to folder structure and yet react differently in Emby. I have read through the naming documentation and the positioning rules emby offers but I fail to understand when Emby does and doesn't make seasons. I like seasons, personally, especially if the specials are disconnected from the content contuinuity. In the case of Yuru camp, which I have 6 specials in the Season 00 folder I get them as seasons, which is exactly what I want. In contrast, with Little Witch Academia, I get the following, and I don't understand why. The folders have been structured the same, emby knows there are 2 seasons but displays the 2 specials in the Season 1 lineup, and right clicking on the first two gives you the "Show Season" option. Which will show the two alone. Is there some rule about how many need to be present to "Count" as a season? The only weird discovery that sadly not fix things was doing "Show Season" to Starting Over the first episode of season 1. Emby had actually included the specials in it. I removed them, but it did not fix the issue. I also did try changing the order (DVD, absolute, etc) but this also had no effect. Please advise, and thanks for reading this, and I apologize if this is answered already somewhere else.

Hello ServerNoob005, ** This is an auto reply ** Please wait for someone from staff support or our members to reply to you. It's recommended to provide more info, as it explain in this thread: Thank you. Emby Team -
Good evening, This is my first time on the forum, as an experimenting plex user, so I apologize if a fail to observe any rules. I have tried to search the forums and be diligent as to not waste any time, and I will try to be direct and detailed. In short, I am experiencing the exact same issue as this old post below. The three films giving me an issue are as follows below. I originally thought maybe it was an encode error as these 3 actually give an issue in windows media player, but I know that's not the case. They work in in Plex, and in the case of Redline, if you give it the year 2010, emby will misidentify it as Redline (2007) and the mkv will run without issue in emby (attached image). Maquia When the Promised Flower Blooms (2018).mkv Patema Inverted (2013).mkv Redline (2009).mkv My setup: Folders are setup plex style which seems to work fine at least for the movies themselves in her emby (still need to sort out my issues with specials and extras but that's its on thing) Don't think its the issue. My mounted nas is running as jbod and no current discs errors. I have tried the following: As I said if you name it Redline (2010) it will appear. If you logically use "identify" to fix it, it will vanish once you perform the fix and return to the inoperable folder position. I've removed the movies from the folder, scanned the folder in emby, and then readded them, to no avail. I've made a new folder called test add that as a new library, again to no avail. I do admit I have not attempted to modify whatever this excel table that was mentioned in the old post, but I would rather not if I don't have to, much like that user, but if it's the only way, please direct me to a guide. Any guidance would me be much appreciated. I quite like emby, but this issue in particular is very bothersome to say the least as now I am worried about what it is missing.

Kev Vader started following Emby Misinterpreting a Folder as a TV Series.
-
Hi All, I have a weird problem with just one folder on Emby Server. I have a folder called 'Kids' - it contains two sub-folders 'Kids Movies' and 'Kids TV'. The folder 'Kids' is set to 'Mixed Content'. The Sub-folder 'Kids TV' presents all the TV series perfectly. HOWEVER, the folder 'Kids Movies' is being interpreted by Emby Server as a single TV series called 'Future Kid Takara' - and each movie folder is being interpreted as a season of the TV series, with one episode in each. I cannot understand why it is doing this and would appreciate any advice on how to solve it! Thanks! Kevin

Those are two separate things. You turned off a library import option about whether or not to import collection information from Tmdb. In your case, it's already imported, so turning off the setting won't change existing content. (see the help text at the top of the library options dialog) In your first screenshot, try clicking the 3-dot menu above the movies list.

Service version is synology4.8.11.0. All the emby app connected to the server have become like this, including web pages. I accidentally turned on the switch to import the album information from the metadata downloader. When I found it, it was turned off, and the movie list became the display of the album, which puzzled me. The picture below is the collection switch I turned on by mistake. I have turned it off now, but the movies are still displayed in the movie list in the form of collections.

Chromecast plays audio but no video - Live TV
Kcircuit replied to Kcircuit's topic in Android Server
Unfortunately I'm not aware of how to work around it yet. I currently use emby on Ubuntu so I spun up a seperate windows 10 with only emby installed as a test and the same issue persists where I'm unable to play live tv to Chromecast. -
Emby For Kodi Next Gen not detecting server
quickmic replied to rfsimoes's topic in Emby For Kodi Next Gen
Do you use https? I found an instability issue for https and will be fixed in next 12.X version. However, not sure it's related to the issue you reported. -
How do you connect remotely? Emby connect or manual mode and what"s the issue? Unstable/no connection at all? I think I also need a kodi.log for review.

Same problem, that started recently. Nothing has changed on my end, as far as I know. I also have a Notification set to send "watched status" and that stopped working as well. In fact, I noticed today that if I manually mark a episode as "watched" it doesn't "take". I click the "check icon", it sets, but when I refresh the marked status is back too unwatched.

ITGuy1024 started following Roku will only play commentary audio

Roku 4.1.42 on my TCL tv will only play the commentary track even though the standard track is selected. Two different movies had this issue. If I play them on my android phone in the roku app its fine. I have to lower the quality from auto to something like 1080 10mbps so it starts transcoding. Then the audio track plays fine. They are converting to 62 frames per second? Or is that the frames per second the media is? Why is it 62? My guess is JellyFin isn't checking framerate at all and will throw incompatible media at the player hoping it will play. Even though it is 62 frames per second. The Roku player can and will drop frames every second if this direct plays. While we try to keep within the specifications that Roku has given us and would transcode this to 60 frames per second instead of leaving it at 62 frames per second. Can you do an apples to apples test and show us the ffmpeg log created when you try that same channel/m3u with Emby as with JellyFin? Seeing the Emby ffmpeg log from that when they can play and we cannot would definitely give us the reason why. Make sure this setting is set to YES.

Remember audio playback speed and make the button more accessible
SajanSharmaNZ replied to milostv60's topic in Feature Requests
This feature would be great - it's very frustrating having to change the speed back to whatever you want it on every time a new video in a playlist you're watching starts.
