Luke 39338 Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 Hi, the opensuse repository is obsolete. If you've installed anything from there I would remove all traces.
Luke 39338 Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 As far as how to install, i would just see here: https://emby.media/linux-server.html Then follow the instructions for the operating system and architecture of the CPU. Does that answer your question?
obieq 0 Posted April 8, 2020 Author Posted April 8, 2020 I am not poweruser. I see this will gonna work but there's no automatic updates from "apt-get update" this way? I will have to manually download and install each emby-server-deb_x.x.x.x_armhf.deb version?
Solution Luke 39338 Posted April 8, 2020 Solution Posted April 8, 2020 Yes but each new stable release is only every month or two, it's not like you'll be doing that every day. 1
JohnEverman 1 Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 Adding this for those directed here by web searches on how to update your Emby server on a Pi. An easy way to update your Emby server, provided you're running a desktop environment, is: * On the machine running your Emby server, either directly or by VNC, open the web page to your server (127.0.0.1:8096) * Sign in, and click the gear icon in the upper right hand corner. You want to manage the server. * The message to update the server contains hot links. Click, and you'll go to the web page to select and download the correct package for your hardware. (Pi4 = Arm7, the package with ARMHF in the name.) While it's downloading, go back to the "Manage Server" tab on your browser, and shut down the Emby server. * The download notification at the bottom ribbon of the web browser window -- click on the completed file, and the installer will start up. * It may seem like forever, but it's working. Just let it be. When finished, reboot your Pi. You're done! Once booted and you log into your Emby server, the "Manage Server" page may have a message to restart the server to finish your update. That's normal. Just restart the server (there's a power button icon on the Manage Server page.) 1
