millsaccount 1 Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 Hi all, When I delete a file on the Emby Android app, it seems to delete from the app but when I inspected storage on settings it still showed the downloads as on my device (confirmed via DiskUsage app) and I have to clear data for Emby in order to actually delete them. Has anyone else experienced this / know how to fix this? Thanks!
Luke 38508 Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 Hi there, what version of the android app are you running, and what version of emby server? Also what version of android does this device run? Thanks.

Luke 38508 Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 Where exactly in the app are you deleting it from?
millsaccount 1 Posted April 5, 2020 Author Posted April 5, 2020 Where exactly in the app are you deleting it from? The downloads tab at the bottom, have tried deleting shows individually and deleting series as a whole but still has the same issue
millsaccount 1 Posted April 11, 2020 Author Posted April 11, 2020 Ok we're looking into this. Thanks. Hi Luke, any update on if you've been able to replicate this issue? Cheers!
Luke 38508 Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 We're still looking into this. If you need immediate relief in the meantime, deleting the download job will also do the trick.

Hi there Luke, sorry to reply to this again but wondering if this issue was fixed / planning to be fixed? Thank you!
millsaccount 1 Posted August 25, 2020 Author Posted August 25, 2020 (edited) Hi all, When I delete a file on the Emby Android app, it seems to delete from the app but when I inspected storage on settings it still showed the downloads as on my device (confirmed via DiskUsage app) and I have to clear data for Emby in order to actually delete them. (Issue reported before here but I never received a follow up.) Also now, after deleting it tries to redownload the shows as soon as I delete them which is becoming annoying. Has anyone else experienced this / know how to fix this? On the latest app version and server version available. Have tried reinstalling, clearing cache etc. but both issues keep happening. CivBase 2 Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 I experienced this same bug. I could not delete music from the downloads tab or playlist page. Actually, it did download the music, but then it immediately re-downloaded it. I was able to get around it by deleting the content from the "Manage Downloads" page. That deleted the files and stopped the app from re-downloading them.
Luke 38508 Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Apologies for the delay. We are looking into this issue.

Luke 38508 Posted June 17, 2021 Posted June 17, 2021 Apologies for the delay. We are working on revamping the downloads library and this is waiting on that. Please note, this issue only occurs when you try to delete a parent folder that was downloaded. For example, let's say you downloaded three songs of an album. The issue occurs when trying to delete the album folder. If instead you delete the songs individually, there is no problem. That is just a workaround in the meantime, just FYI.
freeflight29 2 Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 is the issue is solved ? i have the same issue here.
MBSki 1088 Posted July 20, 2021 Posted July 20, 2021 The only way I can remove downloaded items from my device is to remove from the server. No method from the device works for me.
heffeque 50 Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 (edited) Movie downloaded. Tried deleting it within the menu on the Downloads section, and it immediately started to re-download. Went to the movie on the general section, pressed "Remove download", does nothing whatsoever. So basically what I did was delete from Downloads again, and pause the download through Android's notification bubble. Not the best solution out there, but at least it'll keep the wasted space to a minimum without having to delete it entirely from Emby. Also it would be helpful to distinguish the "Delete" buttons a bit better ("Delete from server" vs "Delete from this device", or at least a better clarification in the confirmation pop-up), as sometimes it's not easy to distinguish if I'm in the Download section or the general online one. Hopefully the revamp with the fix comes soon Edited August 24, 2021 by heffeque 2
MBSki 1088 Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 I have the same problem. Only solution I've found is to remove the download from the server. It doesn't always work though. Sometimes I even delete the actual file, but it still shows up as available in Emby.
handspiker2 2 Posted January 7, 2022 Posted January 7, 2022 At the risk of sounding like an echo, any updates? Phone memory is filled with 5GB of video that was downloaded then never deleted. The device has no downloads listed in the "manage downloads" in the app and on the server. Pixel 4a (Android 12) Emby for Android 3.2.32 Emby Server 4.6.7.0 (Official docker image)
