Connection Timeout

Roku TV

Latest Roku Emby channel

Linuxserver.io Docker container

Forwarded both HTTP and HTTPS ports in my WAN facing router

Checked these ports externally and both are allowing traffic

Emby detects my Emby server without any issue. I click Connect and the app sits for a few seconds attempting to connect. Connection eventually times out with an error stating just that. I then can remove the server and manually input the IP address of the Emby server. It connects fine without any issue.

Why can I manually connect but not automatically through Emby Connect?

Some of the timeouts might be too low in places other than authentication. We will need to investigate where that difference is. Apologies this is an issue.

Are you using the Emby Beta of the Roku app? This has special fixes to those exact areas.

If you already are using the beta then we have more work to do on extending some timeouts to wait a bit longer. We will answer directly here in this thread once we have resolution to your issue.

Happy holidays and please stay tuned to this thread as we investigate. We want everybody happy. :)

I’m using the GA version of the Emby channel. No beta here. What would be great is if I manually specify a server, the app would remember. If I exit the Emby channel I have to go through the entire process again.

Hi there, does your emby server dashboard display the correct local and remote addresses?

**EDIT***

I just noticed that the LAN address is a docker assigned IP.

I went in and overrode the binded IP address to the correct local address. Roku Emby channel connects without a hitch.
