CarlosLima 150 Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Hi everyone, I use only .strm files and everything works fine, so the files that are in the cloud are all .mp4 with AAC 2ch audio. Nothing to complain about. Among the files, I have since DVDScreen, 480p, 702p and 1080p and all of them play on clients. Now I intend to also have a 4K file and would like to know if the .strm will be played on the clients, stating that I turn off all transcoding options while keeping direct playback on. Thanks for any info.
Luke 38863 Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Depends on if the client apps support the media or not.
CarlosLima 150 Posted July 3, 2019 Author Posted July 3, 2019 Yes, that seems obvious to me.Customers who would have access to 4K videos have TV with 4K support, such as Samsung 4K Tizen and LG 4K webOS, as well as Apple TV 4K. My question is the use of 4K in .strm files. Thank you
Senna 368 Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Should be fine.As long as the Emby server has enough download/upload bandwidth to act as an passthrough for the Direct Playing clients, right ?
