0rsa 0 Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 Ok sad, I'm just currently trying Emby because I have issues with Plex with no answer from Plex team, it looks like the same here.
dcol 169 Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 (edited) This would only be useful to me if you can record same show at same time from different tuners/IPTV. Since I use xTeVe, I only use one tuner. So, I would also need the added feature of editing which channels appear in the guide, which is really the purpose of xTeVe for me, But I can deliver the m3u stripped by my python script. 0rsa 0 Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 @@dcol I disagree, it is useful when you have provider who provides one M3U with only one concurrent access. You can for example subscribe to 3 accounts to have 3 identical M3U to share Live TV between friends and family.

If Emby allowed this, I could do away with 2 servers. I don’t think you understand what this thread is asking for. It’s to do the opposite of what you want. It would create a single channel from multiple tuners and roll to them in sequence as they get used. It’s to make IPTV sources act like hdhomerun does. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
dcol 169 Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 Ok fine, my point is to be able to record from all those tuners at the same time. Same show at same time. I just want this to be considered. Not concerned about the method, but if multiple IPTV providers are being used, then I want to be able to record from all of them at the same time, same show.

Well you can do that today right they show up as three different channels... so just set 3 series schedules for the 3 different channels/providers.. 3 providers are not going to use the same channel number like what we are asking for here... if i have 5 subscriptions to the same provider, i see 5 channels today.. we want that to be 1 channel but the ability to say 5 concurrent streams... This does not work. One show recording will cancel the other one. You cannot record the same show from different channels/providers.
Spaceboy 2560 Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 I can record simultaneously from two channels with the same epg assigned without issue. I regularly do this
Senna 368 Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 This does not work. One show recording will cancel the other one. You cannot record the same show from different channels/providers.Create your own thread please and as mentioned earlier by some other users, this thread is about the opposite. If you want to record the same show from different channels/providers now in a way you describe, Emby is not your DVR solution yet...
pir8radio 1301 Posted January 26, 2020 Author Posted January 26, 2020 (edited) Just a reminder, See the first Post if you are interested in that feature please vote on that first post in this thread. If you are familiar with how emby treats multiple HD Homerun tunners, we are looking for the same treatment using IPTV m3u tunners. For example if I have 3 HD Homerun Primes (each supports 3 tunners) And each of those hdhomeruns are tied to the same cable tv provider, that gives you 9 total concurrent streams. Emby shows one set of channels. You can pick from that same set of channels to schedule a recording, or watch a show up to 9 times. Today if I have 3 IPTV M3U tuners that each support 3 concurrent streams (same as above), emby will show THREE sets of channels in the EPG, each channel supporting 3 streams. Not at all like how the HD Homerun's are treated. Emby breaks out those three tuners into three separate systems. In this scenario (unlike above) you can pick one of the first set of three channels up to 3 times, then you get an error, you can then try the second set of channels (if no one is using one of the 3 tuners you are good) or you have to move on to the third set of duplicate channels.. This poses problems especially when you try to record something, If I set to Record a show on a specific channel from either Set 1, 2, or 3 of the duplicate channels, I have to make sure no one uses all three tuners in that set or the recording will fail, even though I have 6 other tuners available... its a pain.. and it sucks.. lol Edited January 26, 2020 by pir8radio
dcol 169 Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 I have discussed simultaneous recording before in other threads. Obviously not applicable here. And I was referring to scheduling. Will open again in the feature requests area.
mauricioro 0 Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 en realidad queria comprar pensando en poner una lista m3u y crar varios usuarios para que vean tv pero veo que aun no esta esta opcion asi que postergare la compra de emby
Wolfery 1 Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 Ok so this thread is going on 3 years. Is there any updates on this ? @Luke or even a work around to have it where Emby notices that the 5 concurrent connections has been used and goes to the next tuner instead of presenting that it cannot connect. Plus at the same time not having 2 exact same channels showing up in the guide. This being released would be amazing ! That being said the last few updates with modification to Live TV have been great, and the work on Favorites and Search are fantastic as well. 1
