I agree and that will make a huge difference for Arab cummunity which is a big one and I know there is many Arabs who want to use this platform as their main one but sadly they depend on Subscene for the majority of subtitles and we rarely find a good match with others.

Addic7ed is now in the Emby plugin catalog. You'll need to configure your Addic7ed credentials in the plugin configuration. Enjoy.

On a side note, the main post still says Addic7ed is still on request though it has already been added.

As I was looking for specific subtitles that emby couldn't find for me, I came across a few new sites I had never seen before.

Some of them obviously had no subtitles themselves just took them all from opensubtitles, addic7ed or podnapisi, but I found some I am not sure of.

Might be worth adding later on after the more important ones are added (they seem to be multi-language):

https://www.tv-subs.net - multi language but seems heavy on English subtitles, only for shows

https://isubtitles.org - looks like many languages and movies and series

hope it helps

Whats the status of addicted plugin ?

Posted (edited)

Yes i am aware that's in the catalog but i also reported on forum that it is not functional, search is working, results are shown but manual download is not working, at least for me in web app.

I will try ET next and  give feedback, but i think status is the same like before.

I want to request site Titlovi - https://titlovi.com/

This is the best site for subtitle download in 5 different countries because moderators are strict, there are no a.i. translated subtitles, only community.

Suported countries are

1. Serbia

2. Croatia

3. Bosnia

4. Slovenia

5. Macedonia

And with English subtitles that are also posted there, they have 6 languages suported

They have api, and official kodi addon.

https://github.com/tturkalj/service.subtitles.titlovi-com-official/

https://kodi.titlovi.com/api/subtitles

In these five countries this site is the most used. Usually people only use this site for finding subtitles because it is the most reliable one

For api to work user must be logged in

Post your request and I will add the providers to the list, just remember that the provider/website needs to have an API.

Whats an API: (short ease explanation) is how emby communicates to the website and tells what subtitle to download. (for a more detail explanation  look at https://www.mulesoft.com/resources/api/what-is-an-api)

Already supported by emby - Just need to download the plugin

  • OpenSubtitles
  • Podnapisi
  • TheSubDB  (English, Español, Français, Italiano, Nederlands, Polski, Português (Brazil), Român, Svenska, Türkçe)
  • NapiProjekt (Polish Subs - Plugin created by Haxy)
  • Addic7ed  -  (Muliple languages like opensubtitles)

Requests                                                                             Amount of requests as of 01/20/2020

  • Subscene - Mainly for arabic subtitles.                 ----------------------> +5
  • TvSubtitles  -  (TV shows only - 18 languages)    ----------------------> +1
  • Shooter  -   (Chinese Subs)  - (https://assrt.net)  ----------------------> +1

vote for Subscene for the future. it's open in Denmark and other EU countries ;) Because OpenSubtitles.org is banned...

Another vote for Subscene here. Seems to be the best place for Nordic subtitles right now, after OpenSubtitles got blocked.

I seem to have no opensubtitle issues? Only certain countries touched by this ban I suppose?

Shooter is good for Chinese subtitles

This can potentially attract more people to move over to Emby if it's supported. Currently Kodi has a shooter plugin which works fine

You should be able to install by simply moving the plugin to the plugin directory, which on Linux I believe is either /var/lib/emby/plugins or /var/lib/emby-server/plugins, and then restart the server

Let me know how it goes

I restarted emby after downloading it and did not appear in the plugins section

That is the plugin folder for preinstalled system plugins

The plugin folder you want is the one in the program data directory: /var/lib/emby/plugins
