Cthalpa 10
In Scandinavia all ISPs has been court ordered to prohibit, the (in)famous subtitles website "OpenSubtitles.org". It was ordered by danish courts, casenr BS FOR-969/2017. Among the plaintifs are; The Walt Disney Company, IFPI, Universal Pictures, Sony Pictures etc. The ISP's has in december 2019, put the verdict into effect! This means, that 90% of all major ISPs in scandinavia (Telia, TDC, Lebara, Telenor etc), have been ordered to shut it down, thus 13+ million users in scandinavia cannot access this website anymore. EU regislation _will_ follow suit some time in 2020, and thus 100+ million EU citizens will be blocked from accessing this service on ISP level. Perhaps Emby should consider the use of OpenSubtitles API in the future, and focus coding on other subtitle websites.
Luke 36878
and focus coding on other subtitle websites. Hi, we do support others. Make sure to explore the Emby plugin catalog for additional options.
Cthalpa 10
Hi Luke, I know, I just wanted to point it out to Emby, that including opensubtitles api in the server software, soon may be futile.Ps, feel free to move the thread to somewhere more appropriate

3n8 7
in most cases this can be avoided by not using your ISP providers DNS servers. And please don't be mislead by Danish courts, it does not apply to all of Scandinavia nor all of Europe. While opensubtitles is legal, Rightsholders scam the courts by adding opensubtitles.org as a domain to be blocked with other blocking supenas for illegal services like popcorntime.
