schmitty 65 Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 Hi, Emby Server needs to stop creating metadata, cache, transcoding-temp directories automatically. I have my server paths set to:- Emby data: /srv/.config/emby cache: /media/cache metadata: /media/metadata transcoding-temp: /media/tmp With Emby's current control, the directories end up being:- cache: /media/cache/cache metadata: /media/metadata/metadata transcoding-temp: /media/tmp/transcoding-temp Ideal outcome:- cache: /media/cache metadata: /media/metadata transcoding-temp: /media/tmp/transcoding
mastrmind11 718 Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 so why not just point emby to the directories 1 level up? 1
Happy2Play 9229 Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 This is do to users pointing these paths to the same location, so each custom path creates the folder name subfolder So you will need to do as mastrmind11 suggested and point each one to /media to get what you expect..
schmitty 65 Posted June 12, 2018 Author Posted June 12, 2018 I can't in Ubuntu. I get an error saying it is not a valid path.
ebr 15500 Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 Yeah, sorry, there is no way we can do this due to what Happy said. Someone points their "cache" folder to the same place as their metadata folder and then wonders why their metadata gets blown away periodically.
schmitty 65 Posted June 12, 2018 Author Posted June 12, 2018 Why can't I set /media as a location then?
ebr 15500 Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 We'd have to see a log from when you try to do it but it sounds like a file system or environmental issue.
Luke 39004 Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 Yes please see how to report a problem. thanks .
