It looks like you don't currently have any apps that support offline downloading.

Hi,

I get this message when attempting to click Sync on either my Emby for Android Mobile device or from a web browser on a PC.  Here is the message & the list of devices.  Is this feature not yet implemented or does it have a pre-requisite I am missing?

You have to do it from inside the android app, and not from any other app.

@@Luke I will try that in a few minutes.  I swear I tried it & got the same result.  I will get a screenshot either way.

If it happens in the app then make sure you are running the latest version of Emby Server and the android app.

@@Luke Emby Server 3.2.30 for Linux & I just updated Emby for Android Mobile & restarted the app.  If I use the Download button, it will send it.  I just did it for two episodes & it worked well.  If I use Sync, I get the same result on the Android device.  I guess I'm not sure what the difference is between Download & Sync?  Seems to me that Sync should be able to select any compatible device whether or not you are on it or it is online?  Maybe I'm just dreaming.

Use download, not sync. Sync is for the folder sync/cloud sync features.

@@Luke That explains it, thanks.  I guess I was confused as to the purpose of the Sync function.  I guess I visioned that I could target the device of my choice from the web interface of Emby Server to effectively stage media on it without interacting with the device.

That was our original goal as well, but when you initiate from another device, we can't guarantee it will start immediately. We can't make any promises about when the device will start it, only that will happen sometime in the future. After being hammered with reports of "not working", and "I want it now", we were forced to rethink it.

@@Luke No big deal, thanks.
