In theory TS should not be a issues so it may be the response header for TS.

<ResponseProfile container="ts" type="Video" orgPn="MPEG_TS_SD_EU,MPEG_TS_SD_NA,MPEG_TS_SD_KO" mimeType="video/vnd.dlna.mpeg-tts">

So lets test with Transcoding on TS and going to Responses tab and deleting the first container listed.

I deleted under tab Responses the first container.

do I need to set the "mp4" to ts again? In tab transcoding.

do I need to do something with <ResponseProfile container="ts" type="Video" orgPn="MPEG_TS_SD_EU,MPEG_TS_SD_NA,MPEG_TS_SD_KO" mimeType="video/vnd.dlna.mpeg-tts"> ?

Well that cover images but doesn't help with video or audio.

Let's see if this does any better.

doesn't work for the .mp4's. means "File not supported".

Other stuff works good, status quo.

fun fact: there is no format tag on all the formats but mkv. its just empty.

Its late here in EU. Gonna be here in 9 hours again ;)

Gonna update logs @github

Empty tags are do to changing direct play to play everything.

So we are down to your TV doesn't like mp4s and has a issue with current transcode options.

So what we do next?

I really like what you guys @ do and I love the whole client. But obviously before I buy the product it must work proberly on my Panasonics which means Emby's transcode/quality must get equal to the quality of plex and twonky - or it is not really usable for me.

I do not have a Panasonic for testing, but hopefully a community member who does and can help figure out the correct transcoding format will come forward so that we can get to the bottom of it. Thanks !

Hey there. I did some "fast" testing. Means each of the files from yesterday I played once for like 10 seconds.

I've a good message, they all work!!! Good job :-) except the Subtitles from the mp4 files. Do you think this will be an easy fix?

I'll be back for more testing tomorrow. I try to watch some mp4's for testing the stability/speed/lagg and maybe a new file for the subtitles if you like to fix them. Also I need to try the other panasonic tv's aswell.

I've got you the logs here: #removed

This one adds the embedded subs back that was in original profile.  There are no restrictions in this profile, so it is still unknown if transcoding works.

Subtitles doesn't work.

But let me explain on this: i've a mp4 file which is not in my native language. Playing this file I could add/activate subtitles.

But playing another mp4 file with native and second language makes it not possible to add any subtitles. Changing language while playing doesn't help they remain disappeared.

Side note: subtitles work with emby firefox on pc and with vlc directly over windows explorer.

I would like to report another problem. Genres not showing aswell. Fun thing is the folders like Action has an image of some movies but are empty when opening.

Short summary:

To fix: mp4 subtitles, Genres folders.

Already fixed: playing mp4 files.

I don't know, Happy2Play fixed the mp4. Subtitles with mp4 still need to get fixed.

Thanks fixing Genres. Btw I'm just curious doesn't emby has a DLNA image/picture ? Or is my TV failing once more :-D (no need to fix that)

What was the mp4 fix?

I removed all limitations and allowed all codec, because transcoding wasn't working.  (correction, the TV rejected the transcode)

But after looking at other servers some of them transcode almost everything.

Can you try this original profile with a transcoding change.

This one is not working. File not Supported (like in the beginning). Here is your log: https://github.com/bi4/log/blob/master/server-63639472278.txt

Oh just curious, is it normal that if I open my media player on TV, that before I can choose emby it disappears very fast and comes back 6 seconds later? (have this since beginning - a little bit annoying tho :) )

If the TV doesn't support internal subtitles then also try removing this line:

<SubtitleProfile format="srt" method="Embed" />
