Med44 0 Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Hello, I use EMBY server on my Qnap (firmware 4.2.4) My Emby current version is 3.0.5724.6 with Mono 4.2.1.0 I'd like to upgrade to a new version 3.2.xxx Can you tell me if i could do this update simply? Should i backup settings ans how? Can you advise me what to do to prepare this upgrade? PS: I bought Emby Premiere to get backup Plugin but i cannot register this because the 3.0.5724 does not have Premiere section! So no Backup plugin available ! Thanx
Luke 39685 Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 I would suggest backing up the .db files manually, then doing a clean installation of the latest version. Then once that's done, then you can try putting the userdata db file back in it's original place.
Med44 0 Posted April 3, 2017 Author Posted April 3, 2017 (edited) Hi, Thank you Luke for your quick answer. I thought, as you explained here https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Backup , informations were in library.db ? I have nearly no special configuration. My biggest customizations are on my movies datas (have the right imdb data, get some back image, ...) and also I'd like to keep "watched data" information. I have no plugin except Kodi Sync. Do you think just backup and paste back only userdata.db will be enough? Pb is that, clean install mean deleted old installation and then no possible backup!! I could get 3.0.5818 installation file but no more 1.151015 (my qnap Emby version) ! Copy from my db files: [/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/MediaBrowser/MediaBrowser/ProgramData-Server/data] # ls -l *.db -rw-r--r-- 1 admin administ 446464 Apr 3 15:21 activitylog.db -rw-r--r-- 1 admin administ 24576 Apr 3 15:21 authentication.db -rw-r--r-- 1 admin administ 5779456 Apr 3 15:21 chapters.db -rw-r--r-- 1 admin administ 12288 May 5 2016 displaypreferences.db -rw-r--r-- 1 admin administ 16384 Apr 21 2016 fileorganization.db -rw-r--r-- 1 admin administ 50995200 Apr 3 15:21 library.db -rw-r--r-- 1 admin administ 1327104 Apr 3 15:21 mediainfo.db -rw-r--r-- 1 admin administ 172032 Apr 3 15:21 notifications.db -rw-r--r-- 1 admin administ 7479296 Apr 3 15:21 refreshinfo.db -rw-r--r-- 1 admin administ 16384 Apr 21 2016 shares.db -rw-r--r-- 1 admin administ 28672 Apr 21 2016 sync14.db -rw-r--r-- 1 admin administ 458752 Apr 3 15:21 userdata_v2.db -rw-r--r-- 1 admin administ 24576 Apr 3 15:21 users.db Edited April 3, 2017 by Med44
Med44 0 Posted April 3, 2017 Author Posted April 3, 2017 Me again I just read that the Qnap app center version is mediabrowser and the manual one is Emby. Both are the same server but they both create their own directory during install; therefore, they work independently . I have the "Mediabrowser" version. Maybe can i install manual Emby version without deleting Mediabrowser until evrything's working ? Just by stopping mediabrowser app? What do you think of that ?
Luke 39685 Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Your old version will store user data in that separate library file. You should back up all of the DB files though just for safe keeping. You should probably also restore users.db
Med44 0 Posted April 3, 2017 Author Posted April 3, 2017 So i just have to copy userdata_v2.db, library.db and maybe user.db. That's right? No Sql import?
Luke 39685 Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Just user and userdata are the only ones to restore
