Maximus Naxsus 19 Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 (edited) What happend? I updated Emby to 3.1.5 (skipped .4). I don't think this has anything to do with the problem I'm having right now. Fiddled around with my PC Restarted my PC (did not yet restart Emby) I noticed Emby did not auto start. Browsed to the AppData folder. A manual start resulted in a popup, screenshot attached. Tried to be smart and download the latest Emby release from the website, assuming it would fix the issue. I did not and Emby started fresh without my configuration. I removed %/System and replaced it with %/System(.old -removed) Same popup. Please help. I'll monitor this post in order to responded quickly.Thank you Attached;Popup, logsI think the most interesting log is to large, 300MB.., attached the last 3 and will c/v a small piece of the 'to large' log. Maximus Naxsus 19 Posted January 30, 2017 Author Posted January 30, 2017 Sorry for the dubbel post. Look at @@Luke's response here. Thank you, I'll try that. I did a forum search, did not find that post
Happy2Play 9316 Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 No problem search can be a pain. My initial search can back with 149 post but search for "side-by-side" in quotes brought back 2. Basically the video say use a different browser and re-download and reinstall. 1
Maximus Naxsus 19 Posted January 30, 2017 Author Posted January 30, 2017 (edited) Did a quick look at the video Luke posted, it looks like a 'reinstall' solution.. #7 from my first post, did not work for me.. Edited January 30, 2017 by Maximus Naxsus
Happy2Play 9316 Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 If that doesn't work google points to "Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable Package". Looking at that pop-up message does the Event log provide more information? 1

Looking at that pop-up message does the Event log provide more information? Tried this too, did not work. However, I did it on auto pilot So I'll give it another shot and report back. Edit: I tried 2008, repairing 2013 right now.. Edit2: No joy, x86 and x64 I'm going to restore a backup from last week :-( (Tomorrow) Edited January 30, 2017 by Maximus Naxsus
Happy2Play 9316 Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 All the solutions basically point to this. Some say remove all C++ packages and reinstall. I believe Emby currently only requires 2013 package. This error may happen due to system file corruption or Visual C++ redistributable package corruption. I suggest you to follow the below given methods: Method 1: Kindly download and install Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable Package from below given link and check if it helps: Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=40784 Method 2: I suggest you to run System file checker. System File checker (SFC) scan is done to check if there are any corrupted system files that could be causing this issue. Kindly follow the below given steps: •Press Windows key + X, select Command prompt (Admin) to bring up elevated Command prompt. •In Command prompt type sfc/scannow and press enter. •Restart the computer. If no corrupted system files were found in the previous state, then I suggest you to try the following steps: •Open command prompt by pressing Windows key + X and selecting “Command prompt admin”. •In command prompt, type the following commands and press Enter after each command: DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth •Close the command prompt and restart the PC and check if it works. 1
Maximus Naxsus 19 Posted January 30, 2017 Author Posted January 30, 2017 (edited) Thank you @@Happy2Play I tried your suggestions but no joy.. I reverted back to Emby (22-12-2016) from a back-up, somehow the main Emby exe was missing from the other backups :@.., just updated to .1.5.. All good :-) Thank for the help anyway! :-) Edited January 30, 2017 by Maximus Naxsus
