NANO SHELL 13 Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 Hi, I have noticed lately that no matter how many times I change these settings, they keep reverting back. When I select backgrounds to 'Yes' for the main screen, it reverts back, same with the display of movie images. 'Posters' keep changing to 'Poster Card'. Any way of preventing these settings from reverting back? I have left a dropbox link for log/images as uploading on here is not working for me :/ https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ycnbqkz4ur5s9b3/AACSs5HLNfF93p2N1sdMS0T0a?dl=0 Thanks
Luke 39008 Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 If you are clearing your browsing data in your web browser then that will cause this. If something is clearing your browsing data for you, then that will also cause this.
Happy2Play 9229 Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 (edited) If you are clearing your browsing data in your web browser then that will cause this. If something is clearing your browsing data for you, then that will also cause this. Why can't these be hard settings instead of browser settings? Since the user is physically setting them. NANO SHELL 13 Posted December 28, 2016 Author Posted December 28, 2016 That makes sense. I had yo clear browser data earlier when trying to load app.emby.media for other issue. As Happy2Play mentioned, any way to make these hard settings?
Luke 39008 Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 It's a possibility for the future, yes. 1
NANO SHELL 13 Posted December 29, 2016 Author Posted December 29, 2016 Is there any way to make these setting carry accross to Emby connect? I notice my CSS theme doesn't show if accessing remotely.
bazzabent 0 Posted May 20, 2020 Posted May 20, 2020 It would seem this issue is still a problem. Any chance of getting this sorted soon?

cappapp 7 Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 (edited) I have noticed this too. I thought I had it sorted by choosing my theme twice, then it seems to stay. But I just rebooted my server and now it has reverted again Edit: Nevermind, I just realized I'm using a domain name now instead of IP address. If I use IP my theme is back. Now I realize that all the effort I go to to setup my users with my idea of ideal settings, they won't actually see. As it will only show in my browser Damn, I thought I was creating the ideal experience for them, for when they first start using my Emby. Edited December 7, 2020 by cappapp

HI, most user settings will carry from one device to another, but some are unique for each device because you want want it to be different depending on the screen, form factor, etc.

Is there a way to tell which settings do/don't carry from device to device?.
Carlo 4508 Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 The Display, Homescreen, Playback & Subtitle menus are usually app dependent.
Luke 39008 Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Most display and all of the home screen settings are shared by all apps. 1
