Thanks.

Luke 40086 Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 Just a heads up, with the 4..8 server this will be temporarily broken until it gets updated:Â I'm here to help so please let me know if you need anything. I see the source code is on github. Since I'm not sure ackbarr is currently active, if I don't hear from him then I'll take care of updating this. 1
Luke 40086 Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 I've taken care of updating both plugins. Thanks guys.
adrianwi 253 Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 I thought I'd give the 4.8.0.21 beta a quick spin and check if this still works. I can see it updated the Slack plugin afterward, but it no longer has any settings. Â I assuming this is configured in the Webhooks menu now, so I copied across the incoming webhook URL from Mattermost and selected all of the events for any and any but I'm not seeing anything in Mattermost. Â I get an error message when I test the webhook, but I used to get that before. I've had a look at the log file and can't see anything, but I'll PM a copy. Thanks

adrianwi 253 Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 I can't remember exactly how I configured the Slack plugin, but the webhooks plugin only had a name and URL. Â I seem to remember the previous one had more options, like user and channel? Either way, it's not working after updating from 4.7.11.0 to 4.8.0.21

adrianwi 253 Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 (edited) Where am I looking for what? Â On 4.7.11.0 there was a Slack Plugin with some configurable options where I entered the details for my Mattermost incoming webhooks (e.g. URL, username, channel - see screenshot) and this sent details of emby activities to my Mattermost server. There are no configurable options for the Slack Plugin after updating to 4.8.0.21 so I've created a new Webhook and used the same Mattermost incoming webhooks URL and given it a name. Â There are no other options that I can see, other than multiple check boxes for what notifications I want to send. Â I've just left them all ticked, and the two drop-downs as any and any. Even though my emby server has continued to be used, nothing is being received on my Mattermost server since upgrading. It might just be easier for me to rollback the snapshot I tooked before upgrading, but I thought you might want to try and fix it? Edited January 9, 2023 by adrianwi

Have you explored the Notifications section?
adrianwi 253 Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 No, I've rolled back to 4.7.11.0 and everything is working fine again. I'll see how I get on when I update to 4.8.x again, but I still can't see where you configure the Slack/Mattermost server settings.
Luke 40086 Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 OK, I would try again and try the Notifications section.
Jey2024 27 Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 Hi guys. I know this is an old thread. But any chance the slack plugin can be updated to include more details like the  discord plugin? This plugin is working great but would be really useful with more details when it sends a notification especially when a media is added to the library etc.Â

Hi Luke thanks for the reply. For example, when it comes to Discord notifications from other ARR's, we receive a detailed notification like this: A poster Overview Rating Genres Quality Codecs Group Size Languages Subtitles Links Release I'm not sure if the same kind of notification can be created for Emby and Slack. It would be nice to display these details. 1

ryderjj89 33 Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 @LukeAny update on this? Would be nice to see posters, links, etc that was mentioned previously for the notifications. Right now it's very barebones, with the title and a description. 1

Luke 40086 Posted March 3 Posted March 3 The Emby Slack notification plugin 1.2.1 has been released and now includes support for images. Please see the instructions in the Slack notification setup to learn how to enable this. Please try it out and report your experience. Thanks ! 1

ryderjj89 33 Posted March 3 Posted March 3 (edited) Ok I see the update and got it installed and I see it requires getting an OAuth API Token. Currently, I'm using these notifications with Mattermost. Can you maybe explain more how that would work? I have the incoming webhook already but when trying to add an OAuth application, it's asking for callback URLs. Here's the Mattermost documentation:Â https://developers.mattermost.com/integrate/apps/authentication/oauth2/ For the most part, Mattermost is compatible with Slack notifications, but I wonder if things differ here. The plain text notifications work fine. Also, I can get images to show up when new requests are put in through Ombi or Jellyseerr because Mattermost can preview the link to the item, like below: Could this be done as an alternative, to just include the link to the movie based on its imdb/themoviedb/tvdb ID? Also, you can't remove something you put in the OAuth API Token field. It says Optional but looks to be required. <input is="emby-input" type="text" class="txtSlackApiToken emby-input emby-input-largerfont emby-input-smaller" required="required" label="(Optional) Slack OAuth API Token:" id="embyinput33"> I had to remove the bold part above in the dev tools in order to be able to save. Edited March 3 by ryderjj89
Luke 40086 Posted March 3 Posted March 3 We could put a URL to movie db or tvdb but those would be links to their web pages and not actual image URLs. 1
