Deihmos 147
I am unable to select the quality from the windows 10 app and the same on Windows 8.1. When I schedule it on the server it just sits there without ever being transferred. Is it working? Server version 3.0.5781.2 and the Windows 10 store app. Sequence: 9 Date/time: 2015-10-25T22:05:25.8421836+00:00 Level: ERROR Thread: 7 Logger: BackgroundSyncTask ------------------------ Request timeout to http://192.168.1.100:8096/mediabrowser/system/info/public?format=json ------------------------ System.TimeoutException: The operation has timed out. at MediaBrowser.ApiInteraction.PortableHttpWebRequestFactory.<>c__DisplayClass5.<GetResponseAsync>b__4() at System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1.InnerInvoke() at System.Threading.Tasks.Task.Execute() --- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown --- at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.ThrowForNonSuccess(Task task) at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotification(Task task) at MediaBrowser.ApiInteraction.Net.HttpWebRequestClient.<GetResponse>d__1.MoveNext() ------------------------ Session: {"PackageArchitecture":"Neutral","PackageFullName":"436337Illusions.com.MediaBrowser_3.4.5.355_neutral__77hd5e1v1hqs4","PackagePublisher":"CN=CA9FBA89-9B8C-4501-9177-37B89E41D3FF","PackagePublisherId":"77hd5e1v1hqs4","PackageResourceId":"","PackageVersion":"3.4.5.355","InstallationId":"5dc333fe-b2eb-48bf-b216-ce8145461900"} Edited November 23, 2015 by Deihmos
swhitmore 781
Hey, I'm having this exact same issue. I just installed the app on my new SP4. I'll update with some logs when I get home. Edited November 30, 2015 by swhitmore
swhitmore 781
So I think this is an issue with Emby RT device profile not being saved correctly on the server. I noticed that I'm also not able to save a nickname on the server for this device also. @@Luke would this be related?
swhitmore 781
Hi @@Luke This is the error I see when trying to update a WinRT device on the server with a nickname. swhitmore 781
Hey @@Luke and @@7illusions is there anything else you need to have a look at this issue? I don't want to bug you, but I was hoping to use sync on my new SP4. Hopefully it's an easy fix.

swhitmore 781
Thanks 7. I think it's related to how the device is identified. It might actually be a server issue too. I did do some further testing, and changed my computer name on my Surface. After restarting the server, I noticed that a new device was added with my old computer name (I had deleted all devices, so it definitely added it after that). So I'm now showing 2 devices on the server, one with the old computer name, one with the new one. Interestingly, if I try and give a nickname to the device with the old computer name (which I couldn't do before), it works. Now when I select the device with the new computer name on the server (SCOTT-SURFACE in the picture below), it navigates me to the device with the old computer name (second picture). Trevor68 48
Actually i have the same issue with any Windows 10 PC, which unfortunately is ALL of my PC's. I cued up some sync jobs in November for the lappy, they are still there waiting to sync.

scanner50 8
I am using Windows 10 and trying to sync a video. The sync settings don't allow me to pick a quality (it's just blank), and then nothing shows up in the Sync Jobs window when I tap "Sync". If I do it from the server, it seems to just be stuck on "Ready to Transfer" but it won't do anything, even if I try to force it by clicking on the "Convert Media" button. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app to no avail. Is there something I'm missing? Edited January 15, 2016 by scanner50

scanner50 8
Hmm, couldn't find a version number in the app, but it is the latest since I just installed it today. I went into the store and forced an update check and there were none. The server is version 3.0.5810.
Trevor68 48
I have downloaded the app again to test. One thing I have never understood is how long I should wait for something to sync before I decide its not working. Obviously 3 months was bad, but should it be 5 mins, an hour, overnight? Trevor68 48
Sorry I really wanted to help, as I would love to see this app function on my laptop, PC, tablet and surface pro. Unfortunately installing it on a fresh new windows 10 install, I cannot get it to stay connected, or sync, without it crashing constantly.
jordy 284
Hi guys, just synced (from Firefox 43.0) 7 episodes of Fargo (original quality) to the Windows 8.1/10 app (v3.4.6.343) on my SP3 running Win10pro. Took about 5 mins to complete. I'm not sure but I think you need to have the app running for syncing to happen. At least that was my experience on a previous sync job - nothing happened until i started the app to receive them... cheers Server: v3.0.5857.586 Windows 8.1 app: v3.4.6.
Trevor68 48
Cool, I figured out I can test too, but I will need to raise a separate thread for why this app does not understand my server is VPN connected, which was why nothing connects. I figure it should just translate the local wifi address fine like the web client does? Anyhoo, will report back about the sync.
Trevor68 48
Mmm, so I cannot sync anything to my laptop Trevor68-PC as it keeps appearing in the server as 2 devices, even after I keep deleting them both, which causes the Quality box to be MT. If I use the Web Client however it allows me to cue a movie for the laptop. I also cued a TV Episode to WinTab, my windows 10 tablet. Both these jobs are sitting on the server happily saying Ready to Transfer with a 50% green progress bar. Which I expect will say that forever like before. Trevor68 48
Good point, Wintab has synced, whereas my laptop has not, have now left the client open, but have low hopes, as the laptop exists as 2 devices on the server, always has. If I log out, delete the devices, then login again it is back as 2 separate devices with the same name. Have also fired up the android tablet as a test too. jordy 284
Did Wintab sync before or after you started the app?
scanner50 8
Got up this morning, saw all these posts and decided to give it a try again. Still no go. Latest app version, server is 3.0.5810.0. I tried deleting it as a device, no change. Tried reinstalling the app, no change. I still can't choose the quality when trying to sync inside the app, and no sync jobs show up in the app queue. I can start it on the server, but as Trevor states, it just sits forever at "Ready to transfer", even when the app stays open.
