im finally back in "business"... Some "things in life" appeared with higher priority.

So I concur with  this previous post that says that the kodi enigma2/vuplus plugin is corretly loading all of the picons using the only available SNP formatted picons files. (channel names) format by making this "un-documented" API call referred to.

I checked that this was the case with a kodi add-on install, and indeed all of the picons are extracted from the vuplus openwebif interface.
while the current Vuplus plugin in Emby and/or the JellyFin enigma2 plugin are both still not capable of working that way and fail to retrieve most picons if the SRP picon is not present which is most likely the case for the new firmware released on the vuplus series.

Emby vuplus plug-in and jellyfin enigma2 add-on fail as the old way of creating picons in the SRP format (1_0_1 / 1_0_19 etc) is no longer possible and only SNP formatted picons are present

Would be great to see if the kodi-enigma2 plugin method of extraacting the picons could be replicated in a newer emby vuplus plugin.

The current vuplus plugin does indeed only work with e2servicereference (SRP) picon .png files

The kodi-enigma2/vuplus add-on does offer the use of OpenWebif 1.3.5 or higher to get the picon using the "servicename" picon (SNP .png)

* **Use OpenWebIf picon path**: Fetch the picon path from OpenWebIf instead of constructing from ServiceRef. Requires OpenWebIf 1.3.5 or higher.
