Snoood 0 Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Hi mom, long time first time. I have an unraid server running a reverse proxy using SWAG. While on a trip I noticed I wasn't able to write anything the shares - the cache drive died. I had a backup from December 2023 I could use, great. I figured it would allow myself and the user I had back then to operate as usual and then I'd have to add the users I had added more recently. Did all that, updated the watched statuses and got everything running on my home network. The reverse proxy is working as intended as I can access the emby server from outside the home - in chrome. This is issue one and I think it's related to issue 2. Issue 1 - I can connect to my emby server in Chrome on my phone but not through the emby app for Android even after a clean install. Issue 2 - I cannot add the emails for emby connect to the "new" users without getting the error in the picture. I don't understand why I'd be able to connect from outside the network on one device but not the other when both had worked previously. I'm pretty sure I'm getting a 400 error in the log but whhhhy? Everything else works. If I've worded this horribly please let me have it. embyserver.txt
Luke 39614 Posted March 6 Posted March 6 HI, the email address that you're trying to link with Emby Connect first needs to create an Emby Connect account by using the green link. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.

So they have accounts already.

They do on your server but apparently not on ours with Emby Connect, so that is what i would try doing again. If you say they have accounts, then ask them to try logging into the forum with them.

Copeland10 0 Posted March 6 Posted March 6 As one of the users on Snoood's server, I can confirm that the email addresses are valid with emby connect.

Snoood 0 Posted March 7 Author Posted March 7 (edited) So the reverse proxy is allowing connection externally but using emby connect will not connect to the server. It can see that logins are being attempted. I can attach another log if you'd like. Also - just installed trakt and it's having no problem updating the watch status live. Which is weird since it won't authenticate the other connection. I'm sure it's probably some tiny thing I'm missing. 1 hour ago, Luke said: Hi, how exactly did you confirm that? Snoood 0 Posted March 10 Author Posted March 10 I am able to have them log in with their user name and password now but emby connect still will not register
Luke 39614 Posted March 10 Posted March 10 Hi there, what exactly do you mean by "will not register" ?

This means the user tried to login directly to your server, which is fine, if you gave them credentials for that. If you didn't, then it could mean that they are confusing the difference between Emby Connect login and login to your server. Anyway, please attach the log file from that time. Thanks.
Snoood 0 Posted March 10 Author Posted March 10 I had them start logging in with their user credentials after they replied to this post above. I'm assuming those failed login attempts were them trying to use the connect credentials as well. I'll attach a log from that time as well as my latest. I'm still unable to add their email address in the "emby connect email address" field without getting "There was an error adding the Emby Connect account. Have you created an Emby account? Sign up at https://emby.media/connect." Here's a fun thing now too - the old users that existed on the backup can still use their emby connect logins. embyserver-march 6.9.15.txt embyserver latest.txt

I stopped having people use their Emby Connect Credentials altogether and haven't bothered to check. I can ask around and get back to you. I'd suggest that it was a cert issue if it wasn't for the two other accounts continuing to work through Emby Connect.
Luke 39614 Posted Saturday at 12:27 AM Posted Saturday at 12:27 AM OK I believe we have a handle on the issue and in the coming days an update will go out to the backup plugin to correct the issue in the restore process. Unfortunately as you're already impacted it won't help. We can probably handle that in a server update.

Do we think that a backup, docker wipe and reinstall would be good? Or just keep on rockin'? Also, I'm so pumped to see that avatar everytime I'm looking for help.

At this point it sounds like you're set, so I wouldn't do that unless you really want to. And even if you do I would wait for another updated backup plugin.
