Hoops sorry I think it was a copy/paste issue:

12/06/2014  02:22 AM     8,206,389,655 Magic in the Moonlight.mkv
12/06/2014  10:32 AM               219 folder.xml
12/02/2014  05:29 AM           142,966 Magic in the Moonlight.En.srt

12/06/2014  10:32 AM            37,840 Magic in the Moonlight-logo.png
12/06/2014  10:32 AM           299,501 Magic in the Moonlight-landscape.jpg
12/06/2014  10:32 AM             3,978 Magic in the Moonlight.xml
12/06/2014  10:37 AM    <DIR>          extrafanart
12/06/2014  10:37 AM    <DIR>          extrathumbs
12/06/2014  10:37 AM         1,147,817 clearart.png
12/06/2014  10:37 AM           131,151 banner.jpg
12/06/2014  10:37 AM            37,840 logo.png
12/06/2014  10:37 AM           299,501 landscape.jpg
12/06/2014  10:37 AM             3,978 movie.xml

By the way I have just added another movie to test. This time it just worked ok. Really weird:

11/17/2014  01:37 PM     7,041,168,044 The Babadook.mkv
12/06/2014  05:36 PM       169,062,932 The Babadook-trailer.mov
12/06/2014  05:38 PM            48,373 The Babadook.Tr.srt
12/06/2014  05:21 PM         1,364,186 poster.jpg
12/06/2014  05:21 PM           186,662 fanart.jpg
12/06/2014  05:21 PM    <DIR>          extrafanart
12/06/2014  05:21 PM    <DIR>          extrathumbs
12/06/2014  05:21 PM           369,422 clearart.png
12/06/2014  05:21 PM           151,998 banner.jpg
12/06/2014  05:21 PM           657,676 disc.png
12/06/2014  05:21 PM           124,478 logo.png
12/06/2014  05:21 PM           362,939 landscape.jpg
12/06/2014  05:23 PM             3,522 movie.xml

The folder.xml file generated in the folders that have multiple metadata files. Example folder.xml for Magic in the Moonlight:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes"?>
<Item>
  <Added>12/5/2014 11:49:17 PM</Added>
  <LockData>false</LockData>
  <Type>Folder</Type>
  <LocalTitle>Magic in the Moonlight</LocalTitle>
</Item>

For Magic in the Moonlight there are 2 files: movie.xml and Magic in the Moonlight.xml with same content. Movie information, plot, rating, tomato and other  IDs, movie web site, artis info etc.

Please try on the latest dev build, thanks. the files won't go away, but the videos should be properly grouped together so that it doesn't happen again.

Hey @@Luke, whatever you did to the latest dev version worked very well. I went through my entire library and removed all of the extra files that MBS had added with the previous update, switched Metadata back on, ran a Library scan a few times and then added a completely new Movie. MBS accepted the metadata provided by MetaBrowser2 and didn't change or add anything to that or any other movie, MBS also downloaded the trailer for the new movie but did not create a .xml file for it or add any images. So WELL DONE and thanks :D .

Looks almost OK @@Luke thanks!

I have removed all of my unwanted xml, jpg, png files before updating to new dev build.(didn't touch movie.xml file) After new version installed all movies added properly to my library. 2 minor glitches:

- All items marked as new so my home page filled with old items. By the way watch status of items is still there no problem on that area.

- Scanner still adds moviename - [hsbs or 1080p]-<metadatatype>.jpg and pngs.

Example: I have both Transformers Age of Extinction - 1080p-poster.jpg and poster.jpg in same folder. Even I have deleted the Transformers Age of Extinction - 1080p-poster.jpg before update.

@@denethor, that didn't happen to me. as yourself I deleted all the unwanted files before update but scanning didn't put them back. The only difference I ca see is that I don't have the resolution (1080p) as part of the file name - just the movie name and year in brackets eg Transformers Age of Extinction (2014).mkv. perhaps that is the issue.

Edit: just thought shouldn't the "1080p" be in square brackets to make it "ignored"? you might want to try that.

For anyone that has a bunch of false metadata created from the dev build, have a look at Renamer. It's a great tool for creating filters so that you can batch remove/rename things.

After the last update, I haven't had any more troubles with false discovery.

I don't understand why?

My files properly named according to guidelines in here and was working almost for a year:

http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/674-media-files-folders-structure/

For 1080 res: moviename - 1080p.mkv

For 3d: moviename - [hsbs].mkv

:)

Why should I rename my files as per swhitmore recommendation while all of them named according to guidelines?

Can anyone tell me what is wrong with my files names in my above samples? For example what is wrong with Magic in the moonlight.mkv?

Why I am having both "Magic in the moonlight-logo.png" and "logo.png" in the same folder?

Oh, okay.  He wasn't suggesting you rename your files.  He was just suggesting a tool that would make it easy to clean out any additional files that were created by this bug.

at this point in regards to folder structure i would think everything should be good now, apart from some extra images that may have been previously downloaded into your folders
