rynethejewels 2 Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 I have subtitles turned on for different shows I watch if necessary. An example is 3 Body Problem has a lot of subtitles in it. At least in the episodes I've watched. When I play it on my phone I can see them fine and switch to other subtitle options all showing as expected. If I cast to my Chromecast no subtitles appear on screen for any title that I happen to be watching. I turned on logs but not sure if it needs more time to populated because nothing is there including the folder within android that the website recommends checking. Happy to provide screenshots of necessary but at this point in time I can only show screenshots of proofs that they show on my phone and a picture of my TV to show they aren't there but I assumed that wasn't great for narrowing down the issue.
Luke 39421 Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
rynethejewels 2 Posted July 6, 2024 Author Posted July 6, 2024 I'm a little confused with how the logging works but here are logs that I think should related to this happening. Basically subtitles are just fine on my phone (OnePlus 12) and the second I cast to my Chromecast no matter what title I play they don't show up on screen. And when I switch I even see the screen go black and reload and I know it recognizes the switch but still don't show up. I know it's not really helpful but this is the very beginning of 3 Body Problem which should be subtitled but as you can see from the photo they aren't showing up. I've used Plex as well and they show up fine and again they show up on my phone without issue.
rynethejewels 2 Posted July 7, 2024 Author Posted July 7, 2024 Throwing in some extra details: Casting to Chromecast doesn't show subtitles whether I have them on or off to start a show then switch them on. I don't have this issue when watching on my PC either. I can post any other necessary details and sorry for the delay on the response. rynethejewels 2 Posted July 19, 2024 Author Posted July 19, 2024 @LukeI am sorry about the delay in responding to you. Can you let me know if my logs were sufficient or if I need to provide additional ones? Thank you.
Luke 39421 Posted July 20, 2024 Posted July 20, 2024 Hi, can you please attach the emby server and ffmpeg log files from when the problem occurred: How to Report a Problem Thanks !
rynethejewels 2 Posted July 22, 2024 Author Posted July 22, 2024 Either this problem self resolved or I was doing something wrong. Either ways it's fine now. 1
