Did you try the temporary test to restrict all transcoding permissions from your Emby user. When you do that, do you get audio or is there no sound?
HALLiGALLi 1 Posted June 28 Author Posted June 28 Did not change anything: Movie goes for like 5 sec and then it stops. What do you mean by: "It may not be supported on this model."? It worked before the WebOS23 update, the server transcoded to ac3 and the video worked. When i disable audio trans. the DTS line passes with no sound at all.

We have always detected support based on the webOS version, which was fine until LG allowed 2022 models to update to webOS23, that's why you started to (incorrectly) see DTS DirectPlaying. LG have not provided us a way to check whether DTS is really supported. This app version now adds additional model number checks to confirm that it is at least a 2023 model. This is why you are now seeing DTS audio being remuxed as it is really not supported. What you are seeing now is the expected outcome. As to why it is not playing when transcoding, we would need to see the server log for the same test with DTS playback. Are you using a reverse proxy, SSL or other 'secure' type of connection? Is the TV and server on the same local network?
HALLiGALLi 1 Posted June 29 Author Posted June 29 (edited) Yea, i know, this is why i opened up this thread: DTS is not support by an LG G2 (OLED55G23LA) and the WebOS23(13.30.56) is not working with .42 and even .43 for me. Ok once again, with .42 when i started a DTS File on WebOS23 the audio was passed - so no sound. With .43 the server starts now transc. to ac3, -like it used to before OS23 - but after a few sec. the movie stops and its throttling. This is LAN. Maybe i'm missing something? This sounded mean: you guys are awesome and this community also. thanks @SamES embyserver(1).txt ffmpeg-remux-38fbfa18-cdc6-45ac-a873-b4821054357e_1.txt Edited June 29 by HALLiGALLi

Happy2Play 9060 Posted June 29 Posted June 29 (edited) Is the issue the file itself as it is DolbyVision? @SamES@Luke At least this last file is. Edited June 29 by Happy2Play

If this is not a hybrid DV then streaming it via HLS might be breaking the DV. @HALLiGALLihave a you got a DTS file that you know for certain worked previously? Feel free to PM a link to a file that I can test

HALLiGALLi 1 Posted June 29 Author Posted June 29 You both are somewhat right. Forcing Hdr content to downscale/tone mapping works. HDR/DV content with DTS is transcoding to ac3, but only runs for secs with sounds. 264 makes no difference with dts, just for some seconds. Yea, the DTS/ac3 file worked on the old webOS.

CraigJ 3 Posted July 3 Posted July 3 Hi folks, I'm having the same issue on my LG. Model is OLED55C2PSC. LG software version is 13.30.80. Emby server version is 4.8.7.0. I have Emby running on a TrueNAS Scale server. I'm aware that Emby server has been updated to 4.8.8.0. I'm just waiting for the TrueNAS charts to get updated so I can deploy the new version. The LG app is 1.0.43. When on 1.0.42, DTS movies would play but with no audio. With 1.0.43, the movie plays with audio for a few seconds, then the whole playback hangs. I can see on the server that the audio is being transcoded. If I disable the transcoding permissions, the movie video content plays and does not hang, but there is no audio. I can't say for certain if these movies were direct playing DTS prior to 1.0.42 or whether they were transcoding. All I can say for certain is that the movies played with audio I've attached my server logs. I'm not sure which of the ffmpeg transcode logs are relevant, so I attached all from around that timeframe. The truecharts team have killed the link that you could use in TrueNAS to update the charts, etc, etc. What this effectively means is that I'm stuck on 4.8.7.0 until I can re-jig things on my NAS. I had quite a few things running using trucharts, including traefik to allow my Emby install to be externally visible. The long and short is that I have a bit of work ahead of me to move all that to a more sane and simple docker compose setup. I'll update once I've got that sorted Regards, CJ 1
Nightraider 0 Posted August 14 Posted August 14 Hi Same here, NO DTS sound From Lg Oled C2 TV When i play MKV or Mp4 file with DTS sound via Emby App on Lg Tv,there is not sound... Emby server on PC Version 4.8.8.0 LG Tv software version 13.30.80
daiv_ 0 Posted August 14 Posted August 14 The 'new' version fixed DTS audio for me on non-HDR/DV 1080p files, but the video would freeze a few seconds in, as others are reporting. I found that lowing the quality and forcing a transcode allowed the file to play normally ...not ideal, but a workaround.

CraigJ 3 Posted September 4 Posted September 4 So here's an odd thing. I just tried a couple of DTS items again on the TV. Nothing has changed since my last post. Still server 4.8.8.0 and TV app "Emby for LG 1.0.44", and they are working just fine. I can see in the dashboard that they are transcoding, and I haven't meddled with the transcoding settings. Could it be that when I tried 1.0.44 last time, it was right after the LG store update and it didn't quite unload and reload the app? Regards, CJ
