softworkz 3010
Thanks for trying. I was able to log in with a different google account, but not with the one I wanted (I got logged in, but no on this site - weird). Anyway guys, can you try again? http://wmc.emby.media/app/ Press F5 to reload. In case of failure, please verify that you see TWO origin trial blocks in the index.html :
softworkz 3010
Sorry, it's not visible in the URL because it's the default. So just load the URL and in dev-tools go to "Elements'". So, it still doesn't work for you?

softworkz 3010
Just to clarify: you are not supposed to register for origin trial yourself - I did that already. Maybe it doesn't accept two entries. I've removed the previous one, so you could retry (in about 5 minutes). I need to check out now, but I'll look at it tomorrow again!
davedick 15
Like others have mentioned, I'm having connection issues when running the app on the same computer that Emby runs, using internal IP or even 127.0.0.1. When I try using external address I have setup it works. Just a few questions 1. Can this interface be using with Xbox or just web based? 2. What does the 3 yellow exclamation in the channel guide mean? 3. When I go into series settings, I see schedule and "seriestimer". Not sure if that is supposed to be "series timer"

IMHO that's still too many clicks involved, but it's a viable alternative.

But what you can do is to configure the "Suggestions" tab to be the selected initially when entering a library (it's the same setting as for the regular Emby client). GrimReaper 2888
As I see it, this is EMBY UI WMC skin, not WMC, and it doesn't have to be 1:1, 0.99:1 would be just as good and amazing. I'm sure that sacrificing functionality for blindly following design guidelines form 20+ years ago is certainly not something you had in mind when creating this awesome piece; yeah, WMC was way ahead of it's time - but by no means perfect. Setting landing page is something that gets inherited system wide/in other apps (Web App most notably) and is far from satisfactory workaround; moreover, Mixed content libraries have no settable landing page - nor suggestions, for that matter, to continue watching docu movie which was literally last played item, I need 20-30 clicks (as Mixed libraries are under Others) instead of 2-3 - that's not an acceptable trade-off and quite a deal breaker, tbh.

I understand what you mean, but the hurdles are high for any deviations from WMC and there are also some rules that we are following: Deviations from WMC are fine when it's about Emby features for which no matching equivalent exists in WMC (i.e. features that WMC didn't have) Deviations from WMC are also okay when prerequisites are not fulfilled on which WMC could rely on (for example like having an MCE remote with all the buttons, or Emby being client/server or platform not Windows, etc.) Feature requests requiring extra-coding are okay when it's about doing something in a WMC way Not acceptable are requests for features which WMC didn't have and which the regular Emby client doesn't have either We don't want to have any competition in features between the core app and the WMC UI Like in the private beta, the answer will always be: Please request that feature for the regular client, then we can add it to the WMC UI (or it might even become available there automatically) Such strong changes like start menu alterations would require broad consensus from the user base and I think it's a bit too early now to decide or draw a final conclusion on it. Let's see how things develop and what feedback will be given. Thanks 1

That's weird, because only the http version is supposed to work with a LAN IP. Or was the LAN IP the IP address of the local machine? That works with https as well (it's treated the same like localhost). Edited September 2 by softworkz

softworkz 3010
4 minutes ago, GrimReaper said: Yep. Thanks. I've added this to the FAQ post to clarify the situation: Q: Which of the Web App URLs should I use - http or https ? A: The basic rule is simple: If you connect to your server via https and a DNS name, use https://wmc.emby.media/app/ - otherwise use http://wmc.emby.media/app/ The https URL also works when you connect to the server via localhost, but not for other LAN IP addresses (or host names).
