Missing collections with emby-next-gen Addon and Kodi

Hi there,

I recently switched from PLEX to Emby media server, as the features I'd like are richer with emby community. 

Now I'm facing two problems and need some help.

 

Emby Server on Synology 4.7.10.0

Windows 10 Pro for Workstations 21H2

Kodi v19 Matrix

Emby next-gen addon 6.2.22

 

I organize collections by hand, as the automated feature doesn't follow my liking. The option in the library settings is disabled.

 

 

1) 

The movies and the collections show up in the emby web-frontend (i.e. Batman movies)

 

When turning on KODI (W10 icw MadVR) many of the collections, and some content, get lost (i.e. missing Batman)

They can't be found in novies and not in box-sets.

 

 

If I turn off show collections option in KODI Media settings, all movies are shown individually under the movie section, the collections are still missing in the box-set section.

but contains 39 elements

 

 

So far I have been trying repair db, refresh db & collections.

 

2)

There are many errors in the emby protocol (attached) I can't seem to fix (i.e. folder permissions)

The permissions (r/w) are set globally and inheritated downwards:

EDIT: I forgot to mention that movies are in more than 1 collection (i.e. Batman is in (ALL) and in a seperate actors collection)

Well, before I start digging, please perform a test with emby for kodi next gen 7.11.1 and let me know if the problem still exists:

Thanks for your reply, sadly didn't solve the problem.

 

Installed 7.11.1 by zip, deleted old database incl. pictures.

After Kodi restart, picked Addon mode and rebuild 2 DB, but still collections and movies are missing.

 

 

While I typed this, is it possible that theres a problem with the collections because the collection name is identical, just the sort name differs ?

Everything is possible, so far I didn't perform a test with identical collection names. Will do so...

Btw, are you using an Emby user account with admin privileges to connect Kodi with Emby server? Actually I don't think that's the issue, but it's worth a try if you don't.

So you didn't sync all libraries in Kodi/plugin? I assume the collections/movies are part or those two.

It's am admin I'm using. @quickmic

Those were the databases movies and tvshows, additionally I refreshed collections via sync.

 

Keeps getting funny, changed collection name and included numbers (1,2,..)

 

Now shown in widget collections on main page

 

 

but still not inside collections or movies

Which (Kodi) skin do you use? Frankly, it looks a bit like the embycon "layout"

Please test with stock Kodi skin and just next-gen plugin for reproducible test results.

Also a kodi.log (after init sync) could be helpful.

Sorry, took me a while (read on for reason)#

It was the "Estuary MOD V2" skin.

I started over,  deinstalled emby, rebooted the Synology and installed the emby server beta version 4.8.0.19.

Than I restored settings by SCB

Checked the permissions /volume1/videos via ssh (look good to me)

 

After a complete library scan (reason !), and some lost images to my own fault, I made a fresh KODI 19.4.0 installation.

Emby next gen 7.11.1 -> initial sync (log attached)

Movies are shown

 

but after turning on show collections. they don't (pls ignore missing pics) show up. neither via movies (grouped) nor by the sets option in stock skin.

but are shown in the webgui of emby

As I can see, you assigned the same movie to multiple boxsets (collections).

e.g. "The Dark Knight Rises" is assigned to "Batman Filmreihe 2" and "Batman (ALL)". I need to review this, could be a plugin issue or could be a Kodi limitation.

Frankly I think it's a Kodi limitation and probably there is nothing I could do here. Let's see what I figure out...

Yes, I can confirm that's a Kodi limitation. A movie can only be assigned once to a boxset/collection.

Ahhh too bad.

As you mentioned the possibility of a KODI limitation, I already deleted (after a backup) all collections and let EmbyServer create new ones.

They are now all shown as they are supposed to be, every movie just in 1 collection.
