The newest one posted is the most stable and working best.

You are actively being refused a connection from your original post.

Either something is stopping the outgoing requests or you are not using the access key 1234 .  My server will only refuse a connection if it's not using the access key, but the server doesn't refuse queries, only downloading the data.

Did you try turning on the internal logging ?

Translate:  I am using it on my computer. How can I check the log? I am sure I can connect to the external network.

The logging creates seperate files for each item.

The logs will be in the emby server logs folder, they will start with ADMv2

You are accessing my webserver because you have an updated movielist.  466,999 is the current database size.

Can you do an identify on a movie?

For this movie:

AGAV-081 (2022)

The logs show obtaining everything available (metadata and images) correctly from the webserver.
You received the metadata, the poster image and the fullcover as a backdrop.

So the webserver is functioning correctly.  Is this not being updated in the server?

Can you try rebooting your server?
How is your server set up?

Translate: But I can only scrape out a few and they don’t have titles yet. I can’t search by identifying the serial number anymore. I used to be able to use it, but I forgot which version. And there are several covers that could be identified before.

I have not changed anything my end apart from fixing a typo for directors and writers so that they work.

Searching by serial number still works (put it in the title box  of identify)

Only one thing I know changed on the beta server channel, is that a few versions had a problem with dots and not passing the title info to the plugin properly during first library scan.  That is now working again on beta 65 (but there is now a problem with livetv) , I think beta 63 and beta 64 had the problem.

Ok.  Are you saying that the movies are scaping now but without an Overview/synopsis?

No Jav has an overviews/synopsis in the ADM plugin - NONE.  ADM is almost completely English language, the overviews on javlibrary translated to English are bad, very bad and very poor, they don't make much sense at all, so they are not imported into ADM database.

If you have Jav titles with overviews the overviews/synopsis came from elsewhere.

Pornhubs api - emby plugin (another adult plugin mentioned somewhere way back in this thread) or tmdb may have these.

Have no idea why I got this error..Seems like network issue, before I solve it, could you kindly upload MovieList.txt here so that may be I can manually input?

If you cannot access the movie list then you cannot access the metadata either, you need to resolve your network access issue or write permissions to the cache folder

What version of emby are you running?

File goes in {EmbyServer]\cache\ADM

MovieList.txt

I'm using

emby: 4.8.1.0

latest version of ADM, the permission looks good.

Are you using Synology aswell ? - its working fine here, as I dont have a synology I am wondering if its something related to that machine.

or whether the latest beta server has a cache problem like this thread appears to show -

My bad for the late response, my issue was unrelated it turned out. I was fucking with my router and port settings and created a upnp error. I'm using an old PC as a media server I RDP to though in the interim until I migrate everything to my new nas. Thanks though for the response @mickle026

Is there a naming convention we should stick with other than the normal one/ It is a weird question to ask BUT most of mine wound up being separated into Studio folders, then into release folders but since each studio has various different lines... I started appending the names and the software I am using started embedding the name the same way... It is a complicated fix but since no metadata or source had ever been made and I figured I was on my own for curation I never changed it. Mainly I have three steps to go to make them the same as my regular Video Libraries... Example..

DRIVE > Studio Folder > Studio (Line/Series) - Release Name Folder > Studio (Line/Series) - Release Name File.mkv

STUDIO:

02_19.2024_115603.jpg.73a57e54e8c5f4875be0d983aa07e145.jpg

Studio (Line/Series):

02_19.2024_115716.thumb.jpg.7f0cb152e4631d87de270a6d2bfa3d2f.jpg

File Name:

02_19.2024_115740.jpg.7f0ede4fb1114afe1c0a6e03f547a33b.jpg

When aggregating metadata from within my file it gets it from this information, as you can see the filename wound up being the TITLE information so from this it would make its request...

Example:

02_19.2024_120952.jpg.463907789e08db682da98830217de9ea.jpg02_19.2024_121007.jpg.f5e12f13155ad6b22a3348eac33f6fb5.jpg

My normal convention follows the normal rules for regular movies....

MovieTitle Year Resolution Folder > MovieTitle Year Resolution File.mkv

Original Language Title (MovieTitle) Year Resolution Folder > Original Language Title (MovieTitle) Year Resolution File.mkv

6 Underground 2019 1080p.mkv, or 影 (Shadow) 2018 1080p.mkv

02_19.2024_123012.jpg.74bf3f4e6c4d31acb180d02cff67a8d4.jpg02_19.2024_123026.jpg.85de2a4c3a4e829b47c6ad973136d868.jpg

They will usually all work fine for requests. But that is my main question I guess, there has been confusion for me in the past about a few aspects, Main Studios versus Studio Line or series.. Same names, on and on...even having a few movies show up with adult metadata; that were not adult films...

This format (for the Adult Collections) came out of some of those problems and the way that I collected them.

Now my concern is that now that there might be a source to download backdrops, covers, and metadata... and have a more immersive experience within those libraries, should I change this to accommodate it in the same way? I feel a little stupid showing all of the examples of what I mean...but this really has been an interesting task in the past and quite a big change overall to the whole collection, so was seriously wondering about it.

You can do whatever you would like but I can say this:

ADM uses the DVD title or DVD Title (year) to look up anything - Not really anything else

So the classic movie

Taboo (1979) is used to lookup this dvd https://www.adultdvdempire.com/47239/taboo-porn-movies.html

Title: Taboo

Year: 1979

I am aware that my database could be much better, but it is what it is at the moment

That would make sense then, I would need to remove the beginning in the embedding... BelAmi Premiere Collection - Kris' Angels would need to change to Kris' Angels. The file name could probably remain the same since I have embedded data, I am guessing. The year would come from the metadata.

The fact that you created something to actually address the data and create a database that can be used in conjunction with curation and giving proper credits is amazing in itself. The main companies have the information but in a lot of ways as time progresses, a lot of these people are forgotten as well as strides that have been made in the industry itself. It is all a work in progress. The same type of issues even comes up for music. The biggest problem I have seen in the past, is a solid standard for it. Consistency in format and structure with a database that is funded enough to keep it going. Huge amount of data and a lot of considerations for it to work correctly. Good effort and you have to start somewhere! :P

To be fair, if BelAmi Premiere Collection - Kris' Angels was in the database and the title search was Kris' Angels it would return the data for all titles that contain Kris' Angels, ADM has an algorithm to try to return the most accurate if there are several similar names.  I cannot guarantee it to be perfect but it's pretty accurate.  It then uses the year to push the title with that year to the front of the results. So taboo would return dozens of results, taboo 1979 would result in less matches.

However if the opposite was true, Kris' Angels was in the database and the title search was BelAmi Premiere Collection - Kris' Angels then it wouldn't.  It probably would return no results.

It totally depends on whatever emby has used on detection as the title.

But in your collection the studio name or collection name in the title probably causes ADM to return no results for that item.

If I add code to return results bases on if any of the title words or 2 or more of the words are found then it could causes lots of mismatched results, so I am not sure I would do that.

No, I personally, would not suggest doing that - unless an Admin was doing a manual search and hand picking from results. That was what I thought was happening for some of mine, PLUS something crazy I noticed was a Studio and Series change depending on what year they were ( after being bought-out or something ).AND I did some testing that seemed to actually be what was happening by doing manual 'Identify' runs on a few.

So yes, I will be changing my embedded titles and how I have done thus far. I may try to keep my current folder structure, but I should have probably followed the same format throughout my entire collections/libraries.

Thanks for the input/information, it helps me know what I need to do next. ( Knowing I was doing something different from the beginning and questioning it...LOL ...hate it when that happens )  :)

Sorry for Double Post here... but I am coming back for another question about genres... Have you looked in detail at some of those results?... and have you thought about a standard in addressing those results.

I notice some results that I had to manually change, and they are HUGELY incorrect, they reminded me of online search results trying to pull in more viewers and browsers than it would be accurately describing genre... not trying to be brutal nor attack your work... only to properly describe the issue.

I use a relatively simple system for most of mine, can forward a suggestion or two if you want to hear it... but was curious if you were aware of some of these though.

I am aware that the genres need pruning of certain words, that just hasnt been done yet.  I am also aware that some genres are similar and can be changed to use just the one descriptive word for them all.

I have thought about either:

1. adding a listbox to ADM for words not to import,
2. pruning certain words from the database
3. hardcoding into ADM to ignore/replace certain words when importing genres.

Like I said I havent done anything yet, option 3 is the easiest to do and most likely for me to do, but I would need to build a list of what to do.

Collections are the same, they need attention.

Yeah definitely 1 and 3.. 2 probably would be a cleanup function. I kept my genres very basic, but a good set to describe anything. The rest should reside in rating, description and of course in conjunction with the cover art to accurately describe anything else.

Adult, Bisexual, Ethnic, Female, General Hardcore, Heterosexual, Homosexual, Interracial, Male, Porn, Transexual

I occasionally use Anime, or Animation but I have found that for almost every description, as a genre... Those terms can be used to categorize everything. I use Adult and Porn as tags - which can be filtered out, but rate everything as 'XXX'; those are the only two I question and for softcore they go into the regular movie collections since most are short scenes in regular movies anyway. I felt for various different 'kinks'; descriptions and covers should be sufficient. Seemed wasteful to have 50 different words to describe action for action in the video, or to rail-on like search engine words. I did question too even using Ethnic and Interracial, but it seemed reasonable as 'likes' versus discrimination.

Have you changed any embeded titles yet? - Are you having any success finding the titles with ADM?
