Hi.  That's not our message.  Exactly where are you seeing it?

Luke hi.

Quick question please. If I get a message alert: Too many files open does it mean too many movies paused?

How to I close them? If I press delete, are they only deleted from the queue and not from the database?

Thanks

We'd need to see the server log from when that happened. Thanks.

HI Guys/Like

As I'm using Beta here is some notes FYI

Server stopped again last night. Tried to download server file for that incident and it does not want to download - see screenshot appended. I had to cancel it 10 minutes later.

I append subsequent Hardware Detection and emby server log files for your perusal.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend

Hi Luke

I'm back. I've updated the beta Android to 4.8.0.10

I will monitor for a couple of days and provide logs as requested.

Not that I am aware of.

Don't recall being asked

What version of Windows are the shares on?

Windows 10 - but remember server is on an Android Media Box

Windows shares require authentication, and currently Emby Server doesn't provide a way for you to specify this. It tries to access your share anonymously which Windows rejects. So we'll have to add the ability to enter a username and password.

Not sure, but it might be the Task Trigger for Scan Media library.

I see the 'default' is set to every 12hours with a low time limit.

I changed this to weekly and gave it a longer timeframe - 2hours.

It now seems to work.

I'll monitor it and give feedback.

@GeorgeCalli Honestly that could make things worse as Library scan performs multiple tasks and scanning less with a time limit could never potentially finishing.

But the log shows "Authentication Failed" on two folders, other logs show more folders.

Error validating children for Billboard 504073 smb://192.168.1.1/S_Drive/Music/Albums/Billboard
Error validating children for English Songs 504053 smb://192.168.1.1/S_Drive/Music/English Songs

Would appear to be specific to specific files/folders via this library.

Thanks for that.

I don't understand the error 'validating children'?

Is there a setting that I should be looking at perhaps?

Windows 10 shares require authentication but there is currently no support in emby server for entering a username and password when you setup the library.

Thanks Luke.

Any other suggestions perhaps, or do I just persevere?

So, is it a Windows problem and not an Android one because Emby server is on Android Box?

@GeorgeCalli

Windows 10+ now requires SMB authentication. Problem is, Emby Server doesn't support configuring this (yet). Are you handy with editing config files on this device? I can give you something to try.

Hi Luke.

Apologies for the delayed response.

I could try, failing which I can ask for some help.

Let's try - let me know what the goal should be..

@GeorgeCallithe beta server version 4.8.0.40+ now has the ability to let you enter your credentials to the SMB share when you setup the library. That should give you what you need to get squared away.

Can you please try that? Thanks !
