I am having issues with TrueNAS Scale hosting a misbehaving Emby docker.

in the forums here it's post name is "Unable to reinstall Emby on TrueNAS Scale"

Basically I don't know how to get back to a fresh install of Emby. I stopped the service deleted the docker through the TrueNAS interface for apps then checked if the storage for that app was deleted. After all that I added the app through TrueNAS charts like I have before, but can't access it from ports 8096 or 8920 even after I set it up through 9096.

@EricKnaakdid you try deleting the emby server data folder?

Turned out I just needed to click "bind to host network" to be enabled and it made the correct ports working

Bit the bullet and migrated over from Core.  Now, emby is stuck on deploying.  Been at this for over 6 hours and read that you need to change the port numbers in three different files.  My issue is I do not have a deployment.yaml file to be able to change the port.  I took care of the other two files just fine.

There is a definite bug with Scale. A reboot shows GPU resources but after a while, they just disappear. Rebooting brings them back but they're soon gone again. All CLI commands show my GTX 1080 available and not isolated even after it 'disappears' from the app containers. I have no clue how to remedy the issue.

Appears that Scale does not recognize my built-in adapter (AMD Ryzen 7 5800G).  So it is consuming my GTX 1080 and will not allow me to use it for anything else.  It runs fine if I remove it though since I'm headless.  Anyone know if there's a way to prevent the system from gobbling up the 1080?

Try plugin in a monitor in your AMD gfx.

Seemed so easy.  But naturally with my luck, it was far from it.  I get this error when I do exactly as the poster stated with the Env Variables.

Ok got it working...finally!  For some reason, my on board GPU was disabled in bios.  I've had a headless setup for over two years and never needed a GPU...  But this also sent my Nvidia 3060 into a crashloop, 3 minutes after rebooting (lots of posts about this issue).  But once I enabled the built in GPU as the primary, the Nvidia stopped going into a crashloop and was available for transcoding within the app container setup.  Thanks for your suggestion @jaycedk

Hi,

having Emby Installed as Synology App on DSM. I run the Backup Plugin of Emby and made a complete Backup.

Restoring this Backup on a new Dockerized Emby Setup on Truenas Scale. 

Now i see Errors like this in the Protokolls:

 

System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: Could not find a part of the path '/var/packages/EmbyServer/var/config/users/00c9ef89611c493b80a37c5721996871/poster.png'.

 

What can i do?

HI, the server needs to update the way it saves user images. We'll make this change on the server beta channel, but for now, if you are restoring to a different platform then you may have to manually re-customize user images.

 There is an issue with the emby server on truenas scale that just popped up today. for some reason the emby Gui is saying there is an update for emby went to truenas and there was i updated emby and no other update was available for emby rebooted emby server but the gui keeps saying theres a new update available and it is different than what truenas had and updated to.. so what do i do to get rid of this update on my Gui dashboard if there isn't an update available for it???

Thanks just weird how it updated to as new version this am when it was all updated to latest then the GUI says it has a newer update that doesn't even exist yet
