Virtually ALL of my music is available through my Emby server, including all my songs that were purchased through Amazon Music. I also have hundreds of other music albums on my Emby server. Amazon just announced that at the end of April, 2018, they will no long permit future uploads of personal songs (not purchased through Amazon Music). Therefore, none of my personal songs will be available through Alexa except those that I have already uploaded. I've enabled the Alexa Emby skill and I've used it successfully to play songs through the default Emby player, which happens to be a Roku 3 connected to my TV speakers. The sound quality is not great for music listening, but that's the fault of the speakers – not the Emby server/player. My Echo Dot is connected by bluetooth to a very high-quality stereo speaker system. Unfortunately, the Echo is not available as an Emby media player. It would be great if Emby could play my personal collection by sending it directly to the Echo Dot. I'm guessing that there are technical issues that would make this difficult if not impossible, or it would have already been done.

Unable to select Seasons in Emby for WMC via Ceton Echo
FrankAZ posted a topic in Windows Media Center
Hello, I am unable to select between TV Show | Seasons while navigating Emby for WMC through a Ceton Echo extender. Everything works fine when using Emby for WMC directly on the HTPC, using Emby-Android on an Amazon FireTV, using Chrome browser, Emby Theater, and Emby-Android on an Android cellphone. Further details.... I have multiple TV shows, most with multiple seasons, stored in a library identified as type 'TV'. On other clients including Emby-for-WMC on the HTPC I am able to navigate through my libraries and into TV Shows, etc all the way down to episodes before playing. On the Emby-for-WMC client accessed through an extender (Ceton Echo) I am able to navigate to the TV show and select it so that the seasons are illustrated. I am also able to select the presented default Season 1 and play episodes there. Seasons 2..N are visible (with artwork), but Seasons 2..N cannot be scrolled to (left/right buttons) much less selected. The errant behavior is exhibited for all TV Shows. Left/Right scrolling in other elements of the GUI works. I have not used the Ceton Echo extender for playing Emby content for the last month or two so cannot definitively ascribe the behavior to a particular update version. In recent months I have added to the libraries, utilized Windows Update on all machines, and kept my Emby server and clients up-to-date (dev builds). It used to work several months ago. My Emby Server is now 3.1.114.0 (Windows Server 2012); my Emby for WMC is 3.0.307. I have restarted everything in sight, cleaned the server database, and refreshed the library for a few representative TV Shows. If this report doesn't elicit a 'known bad behavior' comment I will reproduce in a clean restart and post logs for server and WMC client. This is affecting Mrs FrankAZ so I am motivated to fix it. Thanks, -
Hi Everyone, So I'm looking into getting a Ceton Echo as a little unit to replace a 360, but from what I've read it's picky about codec support (not surprisingly given the lack of power in the unit). According to the specs (http://cetoncorp.com/products/echo/) it only supports H.264, whereas my media is a mix of everything, and until now I've been using Shark007 codec to handle non WMC native formats (i.e. MKVs). Since a lot of my media is local and not just live/recorded TV, does anyone know if MediaBrowser can transcode everything to H.264 on the fly for my so I can play it all on the Echo? Or even better, is anyone using an Echo with MB3 and different formats? Cheers, Walshy
