I have users should would like to watch a 3D movie in 2D through the HTML5 web interface as well as iPad app. Is this possible? I know it's possible through Kodi and my 3D TV but I'm not sure how to do it through the Emby interfaces.

Lots of continuous issues since my Apple TV upgraded to tvOS 10. Media sometimes will not play or the device just goes black and locks up. Other times, the system will just exit out to the main Apple menu. Not happening with my Roku or with Plex on the AppleTV. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Browsing the web client via iPhone it seems that the image placeholders for shows have gone a little weird. Hi, I have the latest version of emby on a Windows 7 pro, working perfectly locally. When I use it on my iPhone 6, streaming mp3, my iPhone report an high data usage on the LTE network. Playing like 3 or 4 mp3 of 10mb, at 300kbps, the application used over 200mb, which is really high imo. Is there a way to reduce the usage? Could be it because it downloads the album cover picture to show on the app pror anything else? Thanks for any help Envoyé de mon iPhone spatiale

A friend of mine gave my a FireTV Stick as a present and I installed Jarvis 16.1 with latest Emby Beta Addon. Everything is working very nice for such a small stick. Only thing bothering is the lack of VC-1 support. I read here and there in the forum but did not find a solution satisfying (manually bringing the server to transcode the VC1 by lowering Emby for Kodi bitrate setting beneath the original stream rate). The only thing I found so far was this thread http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/25803-forece-transcoding-for-specific-codecs/ where @@Angelblue05 suggested the OP to ask in another forum section. But it seems this never happened. Request: So since there seem to be more devices with VC1 playback problems (not just FireTV), i want to request a switch/setting to turn transcoding VC1 on with the same effect already present in the FireTV Emby app (transcoding). I don't know if this needs to be inquired by the Emby for Kodi plugin to the server or if this needs to be a setting in the server itself perhaps based on the device type connecting. If someone points me in a better direction or tells me that something is already existing ( @@ebr @@Luke ), I will of course withdraw my request Thanks for your attention guys.

Must say Kodi seems to be much better than Emby Theater, should have made the switch years ago (been holding out for the new version). It is however just way more of a pain to get a suitable skin and setup going. Slightly preferring Mimic over Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes skin. (Hopefully new Kodi 17 skin helps with this.) More responsive than Emby Theater and most importantly the "6 button" remote actually works (can't rewind and fast forward small increments in Emby Theater). Having a YouTube plugin is also great. Using the default connection/play method between Emby and Kodi, and only have Trakt setup in Emby. But for some reason sometimes things show up twice in my Trakt history (two entries marked as watched at the same time). Also often if clicking on something watching 5 seconds and stopping, also gets marked as watched in Trakt. (Still having stability issues I haven't looked into yet. Crash when starting up with windows and trying to play something and crash if idle for around 5 min.) Friends all using Plex... Might have to actually give it a try.

Hi, I currently have Emby running on my unraid machine without too many problems. I'm using it with spmc on a nvidia shield and zidoo x6 pro. However I ran into something strange this evening. Most of my movies and series are on user-shares with a path substitution for Emby. Since my protected array is quite full I added two 'todo'-folders for movies and series that haven't been added to the array (directly on the cache-drive) so that I could add them to Emby anyway. Made the appropriate path substitutions and thought it would be okay. Until I wanted to watch one of the series in the \serie_todo\..-folder which failed (file not available, etc.). This happened on the zidoo, but I don't expect this to be a client-side problem. By the way: Everything is scraped correctly. What am I doing wrong? Checking now: might not have added the actual path substitutions (just the mapping in unraid) Result: no success, it seems to add the new subs path to the old prefix (smb://ipaddress/videosmb://ipaddress/cache/serie_todo) unfortunately cannot continue working on it at the moment, will return soon with new tried options and results

Something that has happened semi-regularly ever since using Emby with Kodi on OpenELEC is that I will finish watching a TV episode and when I go to a new one, it resumes at the same point in time where I stopped the last one (usually the end of the episode) even though I've never watched the episode previously. I could be watching a completely different TV show and then all of a sudden it resumes (without asking) right near the end of the episode. Anyone have the same issue or know of a fix?

So here's my scenario: Kodi on HTPC, Emby on Server I always let the HTPC with running Kodi go to sleep while the Server is still active. The Server itself goes to sleep some minutes after this. The next time i wake up the HTPC while the Server is still sleeping, i get the known "Library Sync Thread has Exited" error. Shortly after this i get the notification from the Kodi Emby addon "Server unreachable". Imho this is a simple error in the logic how things are executed. The addon should first check for successful connection before starting the sync thread. If the connection is refused, then don't start the sync thread at all. I can attach the logs in the evening if you want some, but maybe my description is enough to find the culprit?!

Is there a way to use subtitle in .mkv file as default? All my movies have 2 subtitles - one external MovieName.srt and one internal with language code (srp) as default and not forced. When use HTTP instead of SMB always is active external subtitle that does not have all the letters (wrong code page). Manually I can switch to internal subtitle and all is OK. On DirectPath working OK, Kodi use external subtitle but code page is OK.

Hi, When I go to the media folders I see a maximum of six tiles for the folders which take up a large portion of the screen. I myself have more than 6 media folders and I wondered if it is possible to show more folders in the screen. Thanks.

Setting up a few boxes for relatives to stream from my PC, for this reason I'm forcing a relatively low bitrate in order to save my upload bandwidth (parents don't seem to notice any difference between HD and SD anyways ). One problem is that when a transcoded file plays in Kodi it asks each time to select an audio track and/or a subtitle track. Is there a way to prevent this and have it just default to English audio track or the normal default audio track. Trying to cut down on the confusion for once I hand these over to my parents so they don't have to select this each and every time. Cheers!

Going to Emby,Tv Shows,Next Episode same thing with Anime it lists the next episodes but it wont play any of them or show the info when i press "i" or the info button on my remote. " Playback failed One or more items failed to play..." Was working on .62 kodi.log

Using Kodi 15.2 using openelec on both. One is a PC and one is an android box.and Emby v3.0.5781.0 through a docker on my unraid server. Everything seems to work fine except that the watched status doesn't always update. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. I am using ArticZephyr Extended skin.

Installing 1.1.60. Brand new install. It starts to do the full sync, get to about the 200 movie and the screen goes black, comes back and starting the sync over again. It does this over and over again. Raspberry Pi2 with Openelec 6.0 and Kodi 15

A repost. Do I need to do a separate post for each problem? Also not sure if logs are needed. I have been testing emby server along with this kodi client and there is a lot lot of good stuff here. I really like the combination. Just a few observations. The kodi client does not seem to import the tags from the server? Is this by design, or something on a todo list. I use tags to create subcategories so it would be really useful to have them imported. The server does not seems to scan music videos with "&" in the title and it places a "?" where the are special characters such "ñ" (in the title). Artist grouping for music has been fixed in Kodi as of Isengard RC2, but I noticed that the artist grouping does not work at all in Emby's Kodi client. I suspect it has to do with the way artists are been handled in Kodi becuase the ListItem.Artist gives the correct info but as I said grouping does not work. https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/7511 & https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/7419 and the pesrsons who worked on them may shed some light on how the artist grouping works. Music Video Album grouping does not seem to work either. A request: Is it possible to put an option to not have Emby's Kodi client create items in \\userdata\library\video. I have my own menus and each time I delete the ones generated, they return. Having said those things, the approach is nice, the web client is beautiful and nice for managing the server. Image player enhancements (Metadata shown on images, pause slideshow, manual navigation left and right) Basically its now a proper player as opposed to a viewer. Chapter selection during playback Clock & version number have switched places (Not sure i like this) Time correction? Minor fixes

Anyone else having problems with STRM added to the library from 3rd party addons (netflixbmc, gen...) since the new v0.1.1? I have reverted back to 0.0.32 and I'm able to open the STRM files again. It seems emby is replacing the plugin in the strm file when trying to play. Meaning instead of netflxbmc processing it show Emby processing then immediately says playback failed. Will upload log later not at home right now. Thanks

Now that I have 0.1.1 working this has happened to every show i watched. it fixes itself but this didn't happen before so thought i would just mention it. Watching a show, the credits come on and I hit stop on my remote like I always do. It goes back to the list of episodes for the season (I use the the unwatched filter) and the episode is listed twice. a few seconds later, both episodes disappear and it only displayes the unwatched episodes. It's no big deal at all but like I said, it didn't happen before.

Do you plan to add a way to disable cover art? It isn't formatted properly for Aeon Nox theme.

Every time I mark something watched in Kodi, it's not marking it watched on the server now. As soon as I restart Kodi, it does a full sync & everything I've marked watched is back to being marked unwatched. Also, I watched like 2 mins of a show & it marks it watched in Kodi not resumable but watched. On the server, it shows as resumable. I'm on .33 & isengaurd alpha 2. kodi.log

Here is the Log :http://pastebin.com/3QeLs1Hq I did the scan on my master profile which is linked to my account in Emby and everything works A1..tags and all. Then i created a second profile to which i linked my wife Emby account and the scan starts but eventually stops for no reason (visually in the GUI) and the sources in kodi say "Path not found or invalid" and even if i close and restart Kodi, the scan doesnt pick up where it left off. Also Kodi is unable to quit without crashing(need to end process) but this is only on a alternate profile. I dont know if it is because of the plugin problem because on the master profile, kodi will quit just fine. Emby server : 3.0.5572.0

tried verwsion 0.10 every things worcks exept watched dont sync. the strange thing is that not all episodes are unwatched for exampel i have a show with 8 season and last season have 19 ep but only 11 are marked as unwatched (should just be the last ep that is unseen ) Every things is working with old mediabrowser addon
