My set up is emby theater on a Lenovo think centre micro PC using Intel UHD Graphics 730 running Windows 10, connecting to my Emby server over Ethernet lan. Then I'm using HDMI from micro PC to a Samsung TV (Samsung 70-Inch Class QLED 4K Q60D Series Quantum HDR Smart TV (QN70Q60D, 2024 Model)). Then Tos Link(I have replaced this cable with a better one) from TV to a Samsung sound bar (SAMSUNG HW-T450 2.1ch Soundbar with Dolby Audio (2020)) sound bar does seem to be linked to the TV(TV controls sound bar volume when using TV remote). The volume isn't super low but it's never quite loud enough (PC system volume max, Emby theater vol. Max, TV/sound bar maxed out as well) when playing Blu Ray rips. PS. I also did go into the "audio" settings on emby theater and enable passthrough for all the audio file types listed as well. Thanks!

Quick update on this, the progress bar is now fixed using version 2.0.0, so thanks to the team! Another issue that I was hoping that would get fixed at the same time is the ability to scroll back live tv... strangely the first minute after tuning a live channel it appears to work, but then it completely refuses to go back. Maybe this can be fixed by some settings in the server ?

hi all, running latest embed on latest arch, already for years, normally not an issue, needed to migrate to a new machine a few months ago. I had to change some series folder names and content, when I trigger full library scan or library scan for TV folder, it does run through the scan but does not add the new tv show folders and also does not seem to update existing folders with changed files in it. If I go into the specific tv show and trigger a scan from the 3 dots on the tv show, then it does get it and updates the content but I have many shows and I can not do that manually for all folders, how could that be done automatically for all? or is there way to trigger specific folder scan's via api, then I could write a script to do it for each folder in some automated way without having to do it via the web interface for each show which is not feasible. it is def. not a permission problem, also no errors in the logs, thanks for any hints

would you mind further explaining this? I've used streammaster (horrible UI, decent channel load results), HLS Proxy (works fine), and Dispatcr (slowest channel load times), and even none, just an M3U file straight from the provider into Emby, just trying to find the best solution.

Why did this situation occur? There are many TV series, but the homepage shows only 2, and there are duplicates, with only one file directory! Scanned out, but there are 2! The same goes for rescanning？

I would also appreciate it if an option were created for experienced users to use parallel conversions. I have a Ugreen DXP 8800 Plus Intel® Core™ i5-1235U processor 64GB RAM Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics RAID 6 8x Toshiba MG08 16 TB Enterprise HDD RAID 1 2x WD RED SN700 NVME SSDs for Emby as cache and other Docker containers. My system would definitely be able to handle more than one conversion I hope this option will be available in the future.

Ahoi, im Forum bin ich bis jetzt auf keine wirkliche Antwort für mein Problem gestoßen, vielleicht habe ich auch falsch gesucht. Folgendes: Ich habe einen Hauptordner, den ich als Quelle angegeben habe. In diesem Hauptordner befinden sich diverse Unterordner, irgendwelche Serien und Filme. Füge ich "Staffel 2" in einen dieser Unterodner hinzu, so werden mir die Dateien in sinnvoller Reihenfolge angezeigt und auch abgespielt: S02E01, S02E02 usw. Es gibt einen Ordner mit älteren Serien, die in einem gleichnamigen Unterordner zusammen untergebracht sind. Versuche ich jetzt diese Serien zu schauen, wird mir ein korrekter Serienname angezeigt, aber die Reihenfolge ist Unsinn: S01E01, S02E01,S01E02 usw. Das passiert auch mit Serien mit mehr Staffeln. Ich habe eine zweite Bibliothek angelegt, sie als "Serien" deklariert und nur den Ordner "Alte Serien" als Quelle angegeben. Das Ergebnis ist jedoch das Gleiche. Was muss ich ändern damit mir die Serien in sinnvoller Reihenfolge, also Staffelweise, angezeigt werden? Wo ist der Haken den ich vergessen habe zu setzen oder ruszunehmen? Liegt es an den Namen der einzelnen Folgen? Vielen Dank für hilfreiche Hinweise.

I usually just only skip intros and haven't seen this issue yet, with one exception; PGSsub on Chromecast. @bjerneI'm really curious as to which device (Chromecast, Google Chrome, TV (which brand etc)) exactly which subtitle (format, external/internal) you're using that causes this issue. When I started working with media server I found a bunch of issues with any type of subtitle except for srt so I ALWAYS extract srts and since I've been doing that I haven't had any issues with subs anymore. Maybe it's a stretch but I also noticed that Emby skips seconds when seeking. For example skipping from 00:23 -> 00:33 -> 00:40 -> 00:50, like some rounding is happening when seeking (at least on my Samsung TV).

@MrHerpsdo you still have the original file? Have you tried playing (both) the video files directly through the same video player (for example VLC)? What's the audio codec, which format etc and which device are you using to listen to them? In my experience I also noticed some reduced audio when the provided audio is in dolby (surround) but when using a headphone (stereo) causing audio channels to be discarded. That was only for specific audio codecs tho.

Hi Frostbyte, I've re-downloaded the Github version again but put it on a different USB this time and it's installed all fine. Not sure what happened when I did this process earlier unless it was finding the older emby.tmg of the previous version (but expect the newer version should have overwritten onto the USB). All good for now then and appreciate the prompt response and help here.

Try downloading from GitHub again. The latest version is 2.1.2 and was uploaded on 26 Jun. The release notes post was just never updated. Works fine here and we should have about 10 days left before it expires.

The Windows Store is not as bad as people believe. I only realized that when looking into it during development. It's merely an auto-updating mechanism. You don't need to be logged in to the store for installing. You can also ask Google for "windows store download msix" and you will quickly find instructions how to download. Then you can install manually.

I guess I am the only person who used these and the old "see all button" in TV mode.

You totally misunderstood....I wasn't referring to the number of videos...but to which specific video. More to your point: you can't choose to play just one video and have it be video no. 3 (let's say)

Yup, the certifications bit Although the Cinema Intro plugin works just fine, Vantage Point has a bit more options: like certifications. And Brojbeanu is wrong: in Cinema Intro plugin you can choose how many intros to play from a folder with multiple items. Used to use it before I switched to Vantage Point. Maybe you guys can insert some settings in Cinema intro for certifications intros.

Hi Luke, any update on if it will show in the Samsung store now? Samsung Emby stopped working this week from the sideload because it's been more than a month since the last build release. I've been checking here each day for a new release but nothing here as yet. I can't even reinstall the previous build as the TV shows the error "emby.tmg, The application cannot be installed because the validity period has expired. [-6]" So if the app is still not in the Samsung store for UAE then can the team please rev up the current Samsung TV build and re-release today, or otherwise publish the next version to sideload? Either way a solution is needed immediately for users of the manual sideload method on Samsung TVs as otherwise Emby cannot be used at all. If you have another workaround or solution then please advise. Thanks for your help.

I disagree... I don't like the Microsoft Store. I don't understand why you're forcing us to use it. Is this like a hostage? Where is the freedom??? We want to use the regular setup.exe file. I see that the old version 3.0.20 from 2023 is available. Can't you update to a newer version??? emby-theater-windows 3.0.20 I know that in the future the old version of Emby will stop working... That will be a big problem. Please respect users who want to use either the Microsoft Store or the classic installer (setup.exe). You can't force us to use only the Microsoft Store.

And you've used the same connection details in the browser and the tv app? I mean IP/hostname or domain name and local Emby user account vs. Emby Connect. Do you have set a maximum streaming limit for your Emby server or the Emby user?
