Sure, in the spirit of not infringing on anyone's copyright (lol) - I'll throw some random .mkv together and throw a subtitle in there and see if I can replicate with that.

Have you tried adding this new range to the 'LAN Networks' section of the Emby 'Network' page?

@sa2000after some testing I found plugin STRM EXTRACT is whats causing the problem in conjunction with my IPTV provider, and I have a work-around. If I add a TV show .strm file before its released, my provider will add at 15 sec video clip saying something like video is not available, or something. Strm extract will log that 15sec video as the source. Once the video is live its a different format. It seems like when someone tries playing the live video and it needs transcoding Emby doesnt work as it thinks the format is the 15sec clip not the actual format the video is in. Work arounds: 1. Remove STRM Extract plugin or 2. or after TV show is live, delete the .strm, refresh library, then add back the .strm and have STRM extract re-scan the video thats now linked to the correct format.

For comparison purposes, below is an image of my Emby John Lennon page: (Note: I have hidden the Emby Songs Vertical Section with CSS, so just considering the albums rows in this post.) The Albums section is all good, where John Lennon is the Album Artist. The Appears On section combines John Lennon albums as a (non Album Artist) Artist performer and a (non Album Artist) Composer. Therefore, of the 11 albums visible in the screenshot, 10 are obvious Composer credits only. It is not until the 9th album (The Beatles Live at the Hollywood Bowl) that a genuine John Lennon “performed on” album appears. (And, even that is from a Composer credit! - but I can likely deal with that type of issue with my embedded tags). It is certainly valid to show the John Lennon Composer info (possibly in a separate row), but not mixed with the Artist (performer) info. Another observation is that the Albums section can be ‘clicked on’ to give an expanded grid view, but the Appears On section cannot. With the (current) Appears On section and (future?) Appears On/Albums Composed sections, it would be helpful to have the expanded grid views as well. For largish music libraries (like the John Lennon example) there could easily be 50+ Albums for each separate Albums/Appears On/Albums Composed category. Any improvements with this would be most appreciated!

You have three options Multi-select and on the multi-select menu you have group versions. Emby automatic grouping per required structure/naminig scheme. Or the community plugin.

Has anyone had their MKV files corrupted after using this plugin? Out of 6700 files, about 150 had their MKV header corrupted, resulting in the files thinking their is no audio. Luckily I had backups. I thought maybe the original files were corrupt, but I scanned and recreated MKV from the backups and there are no errors. Using Emby 4.8 on Synology DSM 7.2, and latest plugin. Any ideas?

Running Android TV app on two Shields. After re-configuring my network with a new IP address range and Wi-Fi SSIDs, I'm having a problem with only one of my Shields. I've never seen this behavior, and the Emby home screen normally takes <1s to display. I sent an app log @ 4:22 PM CT from the select user screen; attached is the server log right after that. I launch ATV the Emby logo screen shows with a spinner for maybe 30s then I get the user select screen and a toast saying 'unable to connect to configured server', yet it is connected to the server the only user is shown ready for me to select (it has a padlock on it) I select the user and I am logged in at the home screen What is the problem finding the server? How can I fix it? I've tried logout/login and manually defining the server again, but no change. embyserver.txt

That was another thought that I had yes but I would have been surprised that that would have been it if other apps worked to cast, my mini is on the same subnet/wifi and I only have one. Glad you resolved it.

I have "Blade Runner 2049" shown as one movie with 2 versions (which was imported a long time ago, and it's the desired behavior), but I just imported a 2nd version of "Dune: Part Two" and for some reason it comes in a separate tab. I'm currently using 4.8.7.0 on Synology 72 x86_64 with MovieDB 1.7.6 I tried putting the same naming convention with the same differences that "Blade Runner 2049" had ("Dune Part Two (2024) [tmdbid=693134] extra details of the file.mkv"), then scanning library files, but to no avail. They still show like this: It is extremely rare for me to have more than one version, so I am unaware when this started being an issue. Is there a way to "combine" them manually so that they only show once, like "Blade Runner 2049" does? Thank you in advance.

Hello, Any updates or findings with this? I just made a post about this EXACT same thing actually, so I will go ahead and delete that. This is very frustrating though and I am curious as to what you come up with. The thought of the IPTV connection interrupting also crossed my mind as the cause too but it does it on a lot of channels but maybe they all mess up. Some do complete but some do not. To add to this though and if I can get an example, I will. I just recorded a program about 30 minutes ago that was an automatic schedule and I watched on the dashboard and it showed that it was recording for the entire 30 minutes, however; when I went to go back and play it, there was only 2 minutes there, so I thought that was kind of odd. With that said, any other ideas or maybe a connection interruption may not be the cause? Oh, I guess I can't delete the other post I made, at least I don't see an option to...
