Latest iOS/iPadOS update (version 2.2.19) random disruptions
A32 replied to A32's topic in Apple iOS / macOS
@Luke Please download and check this MKV file (on my Proton drive). It crashes. This used to play fine on my iPad Pro. Nothing copyrighted. It’s a UHD LG TV demo file. https://drive.proton.me/urls/G4KEK4X09W#TvIlAkS8Qo3m (Link expires in two days). Edit: after reporting this, the file above played fine although it crashed Emby the 6/7 times I tried to play it before! The other MKV file still crashes. Not sure what’s going on. @brentpkennedycan you dload and try the linked file please. -
TMCsw started following Emby ignoring internet streaming limit?

Perhaps it's time too : Please tell us the time (in logs) when this happens... (and has everything been rebooted? (server, client(get your dad to unplug the USB power supply), both routers and/or modems on both ends)? Edit: are you using a reverse proxy??
-
Thank you for the reply. So I unticked "Allow video transcoding" under user settings and I was getting a playback error - No compatible streams are currently available. Please try again later or contact your system administrator for details. When I enable it's not transcoding properly because of the Profile 5 issue you mentioned. In that case if I'm only using web and android app for now, should I avoid downloading any DV videos? or will it be resolved in future releases?

Circling back to this. I can say with confidence that this happens with the majority of the files that I have. You're saying that this is a problem with Roku, and yet I ran Plex on Roku for years and had none of these issues. So it seems to me that Emby is the problem. And even if repackaging this solves the issue, I'm not going to repackage all of my files. So out of curiosity, is this something you all are actually going to troubleshoot? Or is this something I just need to decide to live with or not? Because it happens with nearly every single file, and predictably happens almost 100% of the time after I pause and then begin playing again.

Latest iOS/iPadOS update (version 2.2.19) random disruptions
A32 replied to A32's topic in Apple iOS / macOS
Now that you've mentioned it, I've tried multiple MKV files. With one of them the app crashes when it starts playing and no matter how many times I try, it does the same. This particular one was played multiple times before the update with no problems. A few others (MKV) played fine. -
Did I post this incorrectly? I read the how to report a problem page.
-
You'll probably want to switch it to an open port - So you are using 80:80 now probably? I use 8080:80. I am sending you a PM.
-
I just deleted the container and redid it on port 80 and I can open the x.x.x:80 and I get the page with the playlist link and the epg link that I used to add as a source in channels dvr, in which I can watch the channels as we speak
-
You can view Pluto streams in ChannelsDVR? You can access the PlutoTV docker webpage? - http://x.x.x.x:32771

I also seem to be having this issue on an iPhone 15 Pro running the latest version of the app. I tried reinstalling as suggested above but it didn't work. It only seems to be happening with one show from what I can tell. embyserver.txt -
What port is your Pluto docker running on???
-
I have several other live tv sources from the web that are working fine. ill look into the log file tomorrow, I’ll have to make a search to find out where to find it.
-
It's just a matter of changing the extension while saving it or even after it's saved. Do you have any other sources in Channels that you have successfully added to Emby? TVE? HDHomeRun? Can you post the EmbyServer log using the link (sanitizes it for you) from inside Emby? (after an attempt to add the M3U)
-
I opened it in notepad++ and saved it as .m3u. Still won't play in vlc
-
Hi there, sorry I’ve been away. Let me report it the next time it happens. Thanks
-
I can download the file from that link as well. And the source in channels dvr is indeed named M3U-plutotv When I try to add the live tv source I still get the same error. When I download the file I get it as m3u8 format, and it won't play in vlc, do I need to convert the file? If so how?

Media library selection [mixed content] recognition error
lifujie posted a topic in Feature Requests
When selecting [Mixed Content] in the EMBY media library, if there are movies in the folder, there will be an additional layer of folders to see the movie media. Previous versions did not. If there was only one media file in the folder in the previous version, it would be displayed directly as a movie, that is, click to go to the playback interface. Please fix it. Thank you。 Uploaded attachments 1. The blue background without a cover image is a newly created library, and after clicking on the movie, an additional layer of folders is required. 2. The white background has a cover image, which is a previous image. Clicking on it directly shows the movie. Note: For the same video source, each folder contains only one media file 1279_1716251604.mp4 -

Latest iOS/iPadOS update (version 2.2.19) random disruptions
brentpkennedy replied to A32's topic in Apple iOS / macOS
That's interesting. I ran into this this morning on my wife's ipad. I tried reinstalling the IOS app, multiple restarts, and upgrading the emby server to the latest version and am still seeing the same behavior. Files that were paused in the middle of playing last Friday and were resumed today now crash out to the home screen. after extensive testing with a few dozen files today: all tested files currently work on android, roku, and web. the issue appears to be confined to the mkv envelope regardless of video or audio codec (tested with various mkv and mp4 files with H264,H265,AAC,MP3) all mp4 format files work (even a few that had an mkv extension, but were actually mp4, I didn't previously notice that was present in my collection), but all mkv format files crash to the IOS home screen. I don't see anything unusual in the log file, the server thinks everything is fine and the server dashboard thinks the ipad is still playing the file for ~60secs after the ipad exits to the home screen, unless you start another file playing right away, then that file either exits or plays depending on the envelope. Not sure how A32 made this work, but am open to suggestions... for now my wife is using emby on my android tablet to play videos, which is working correctly. -
Emby App Crash on Launch After iOS 12.5.7/Emby 2.2.19 Update
A32 replied to Just4Jo's topic in Apple iOS / macOS
My issue was solved by deleting the app from my iPad, restarting and installing again. Like you, I was afraid that I’m going to lose some major settings and preferences but it didn’t. The only thing I noticed is that the sort order was back to the default and that was an easy fix. That’s my experience. -
Im Plugin unter Playback Settings -> Playlist Playback Mode, probier mal den anderen Intro Video Container.
