No. But why should In need it? There´s also no Emby app on my two Oppos and my Marantz Cinema, but I can cast to them from my Android phone. My understanding is that I only need the Emby app on the Fire cube, if I want to start and use it from the Cube. But in this case I always need my TV, even if I only want to listen to music. That´s why I would like to cast it from my phone. Just the way it works with my Oppos. Since I have the Oppos, I actually don´t need the Cube. I just want to try, wether this would work.

I have a lot of issues playing back content while it is still recording. Particularly when skipping forward through commercials. After the program is finished recording and i play back and slip, i dont seem to have issues, My setup: Emby Server 4.8.7.0 running in Docker on a Synology DS 220+ Emby app (I am not home now and i dont know app version but i have auto update on. Ill edit this with version when i can get to my unit) running on an Nvidia Shield 2019 Pro. Recordings are set to save on my Synology NAS and that folder is added as a Mixed Media Library. A lof times when this happens, the video goes back to the very beginning frame and freezes and its hit and miss if i can get it started again. If i leave the video playing and don't try to skip ahead then the video generally has no issues. This isnt the biggest issue in the world, but it prevents a great app from being the greatest app.

am having a similar issue to this. emby is increasingly using up my storage and as far i can tell a reboot of the container is what fixes/ free up the space. @Lukedo u have a fix for this?

Could be related; I’m also noticing the “mark as watched” button does nothing when directly opening media from the Downloads section as well. Also seems all of these are observed on Movies, TV Shows libraries as well. Not just Home videos & photos libraries.

In my example I have only adults and decide what guest have access should be when guest account is create like regular accounts. Regards.

Yes. It means that ALL your videos will softwork encode, but still using hardware to decode frames. The heavy lifting of AV1 is the decoding. @softworkzNot sure you've seen this. You may know a better cure for this condition than I do.

hi, I'm using a Dune Homatics 4K R Box with the new AndroidTV 12 and Kodi 21. My problem is that i have stuttering with the newest version. My buffer is full, i have no idea where the problem is.

@Luke Can you please respond to my question about the next release? Will the next release allow toggling between grouped and all items? A fixed option for one or the other is not a good idea. It should be a view option in the client.

I will also add that I never had this problem until a few months ago and with the most recent update (4.8.7.0), I didn't have this issue this time.

Unchecking the h.264 hardware encoder seems to fix it. But now that means essentially I've disabled hardware encoding for all videos? Thank you for the help!

On closer inspection I see that now.. was just a bit frustrated with the side scroll, makes looking up items in collections like Marvel Universe a pain. Hope to see that toggle in the future. Thanks again!!

@quickmicMy server auto upgraded to 4.8.x.x and I thought everything was fine, so I upgarded to 10.0.23. I am now noticing some transcoding issues that I did not have before with 4.7 and downgrading back to an older copy. Is downgrading the plugin as simple as reinstalling 10.0.22 over the .23 or do I need a complete uninstall/reinstall or will 10.0.23 just continue to work? Copying of the older emby folder will take an hour or so, therefore, I will test anyway.

Let me start with an example. I have a bunch of Star Wars movies that are starting to get as complicated as Marvel. Well not really but they are diverging all over. So am creating a collection of my own that lists ALL star wars movies in chronological order. I historically use the Sort Title to get them to sort right in the collection but problem is say Rogue One. If I make that like a sort order label of Star Wars 05 as it's technically the 5th movie in order chronologically. However now it will sort under "S" in the Movies area due to that sort order flag. Adding it to a custom collection doesn't allow me to custom sort just that collection. Understand that could get complicated but thought I'd check if I'm missing anything.

I think I may have figured it out. I may have just needed to update Emby to specify what external ports it was telling the client to use. I'm doing some testing. **I get it now. I was testing in a browser with http://tv.mydomain.com I didn't realize the Emby apps stored a local and remote config. Now that I realize that and put in the correct port for remote access, it looks like all is good. Thank you.

It is an optimization, hopefully a temporary one. Ideally we'd like to return all results in all cases, but when the search string is small it can lead to queries taking a long time if you try to bring everything back. We are constantly working on getting that down and will hopefully be able to make it always return all at some point.
