I think I found the problem. You really added a movie, not just assigned a movie to a collection? I wasn't aware it's possible doing that at in one step. BoxSet/Collection updates for realtime sync only triggered for updated content. Not new content. I'll fix that in next version, but please check.

Yes, I understand. Much of my really old music was initially ripped in WMA format (uugh!) About 10 years ago I converted it all to FLAC. I don't think the metadata will ever be fully complete and totally accurate! If your old music is mp3 and you still have the CDs, I would recommend to re-rip as lossless FLAC. It takes up more hard drive space (about half that of the original CD) but is much better sound quality than lossy mp3. You probably know this anyway. Definitely give Mp3tag a good try. I find it extremely useful. (Others will likely recommend MusicBrainz Picard, which is also very good). There are some Mp3tag 'traps' to be aware of, e.g. AlbumArtist vs Album Artist - you need to check the Extended Tags window to see both (unless you customise the default tag side panel). There are plenty of members here that can help with navigation/use of Mp3tag. While you can make some changes directly in Emby, I have found it's always best to use another program to save changes to embedded metadata. That way your music library will work in other software platforms as well. If you make changes just in Emby and then rescan your library, it will possibly revert back to what the embedded data in your files is. (Or, as you have found - Emby won't let you.) What did you use before Emby? I have tried too many to name them all... I used Asset uPnP for quite a while. Have used Plex on and off, but don't really like it, despite it having a few more useful music fields than Emby does. Emby is quite good. Roon is possibly the 'gold standard' but you have to pay 'gold prices' for it! Good luck with it all and trying Mp3tag. P.S. More tips... Just load in one problem album and experiment with that first, both in Mp3tag and Emby. Get one album fixed and then it will be easy to do the rest! You can't undo Mp3tag changes, so make a backup and 'hasten slowly' while your are learning it! Have fun!

For example, if you cannot watch a particular copyrighted DVD on your laptop because of an encryption system, the DMCA makes it unlawful for you to bypass this access-control measure. Access-control measures may also be found on eBooks, Internet streaming platforms, and password-protected sections of websites, among other things. Note that there is no ban on the act of circumventing copy-control measures, but it is illegal for anyone to provide you with the technological tools to do so. In any event, some copyright holders merge access-control and copy-control measures in the same DRM system, making it impossible to circumvent copy-controls (which is not prohibited) without circumventing access-controls (which is prohibited). The DMCA also prohibits trafficking in devices or tools that help other people circumvent access-control and copy-control measures. 17 U.S.C. § 1201(a)(2), (b). Roku plays the wrong subtitles, plays english subtitles when only forced is selected. Fire Stick has none of these issues. I have submitted logs and heard nothing. The problem went away for a while, but it is back with a vengeance. I even have English shows playing English subtitles for no reason now. Again, none of this is an issue on Fire Stick.

(What I am trying to say is, if you have to use a third party program to make appropriate changes, Emby's interface isn't good enough and my feature request therefore stands. A user should be able to make appropriate changes with the Emby interface.

Quantity of albums that have the problem: hundreds. Enough that I'm not even going to go count them. Seriously, I've been collecting CDs for decades, and they weren't tagged with Emby in mind when they were ripped. What are the album artist tags for the problem albums I have? Seriously, I have hundreds, I'm not going to look them all up. What music tagging program do I use before importing into Emby? None, I ripped my CDs decades ago, it's not like I assumed that someday I'd be using them in Emby, and no previous program that I've had them in has had a problem with the albums. Emby does not seem to let me adjust the artist, either the album artist or the track artist. This tells me that Emby's metadata editor for music is inadequate, because it does not let you adjust the criteria on which it makes its decisions. BTW, thank you for recommending MP3Tag. I downloaded it, it is now looking at my library, and then I will start learning about it.

That's the question: will Emby do whatever the link I posted requires to play their DRM game. NBC is one of only two ATSC 3.0 channels in my area.

Hi. I can't answer your "many years" question, but I can comment on the current state of ATSC 3.0 in Emby. As long as a network has not turned on DRM encryption, you should be able to record an ATSC 3.0 channel. In my market, NBC and FOX turned on DRM encryption almost from the start. But CBS and ABC are not encrypted (as of this post) and I record regularly in Emby from both of them. Also, once a network turns on encryption, that channel is no longer available in Emby. Ok.. I got it fix it was my local network on my server i have two network adderss on my server now one 1GB on motherboard and a new 10GB network card i add 3 months ago and that 1GB had the wrong IP address with wrong subnet in it when i was testing other thing a week back and i did not change that ip back to the right subnet and turn it back off. to run my new 10GB network card only. so it was my Network IP it was double on EMBY server and one was wrong IP address not showing.. it was my bad.. sorry for the trouble and thank you everyone for your help too. Everything is now working great it will log out and log back in very fast on all APPS. Thank you EMBY Team..

Do we have some idea of how many devices I'm at when I get the message " You have a Monthly Emby Premiere plan, but your device usage is close to the limit." What does it mean by close? Is it like 20? 24? Some idea of how the warning message works would be helpful to know if I'm going to have to upgrade if I add 1 more user or not for example. How does upgrading and downgrading my license work? For example, I currently have a 25 device limit. I have more than 3 weeks left before my monthly renewal, if I upgrade today to the 45 device limit plan does it take effect immediately and do I pay the full amount of $11.99 and I lose the remainder of this month that I've already paid for? How does downgrading work? If I want to drop back down to 25 licenses from 45, how do I do that and what are the cost implications? Thanks!

Now I know that the '3' in '-canvas_size:s:3' represents the number of subtitles. But in every movie, I don't always need the title '3'. So, do I need to change this code every time I watch a movie?

Hi quickmic, I tried this new version, but the file list is still not being refreshed after I delete content. I also tried backing out of the folder and going back in, but the deleted file still shows up in the listing. Please let me know if you have any suggestions, thank you!

The examples that you have given do not show an "Album Artist" tag, they just show "Album" and "Artist" tags. I am not suggesting that you change "my artist name" to "my album artist name" for the problem albums/tracks. Of course you should keep the correct individual Artist(s) for an individual Song. "Album Artist" is a distinct field/tag from "Artist" and "Album" - supported by Emby and most other music management platforms, for grouping an Albums tracks and keeping individual Artists for the individual Songs. You could use "Various Artists" as the "Album Artist" tag for compilation albums, E.g. Track number: 1 Album name: My album Track name: My song Artist name: Sally Smith Album Artist name: Various Artists Location: d:/music/MyAlbum/01-my-song.mp3 Track number: 2 Album name: My album Track name: Other song Artist name: John Doe Album Artist name: Various Artists Location: d:/music/MyAlbum/02-other-song.mp3 From what I understand, the folder/file structure/names don't matter greatly with the latest Emby version - it is the higher priority embedded tags that need to be correct. What are the Album Artist tags for the problem albums you have? How many albums have problems? What music tagging program do you use before importing into Emby? What does this show for Album Artist? I also have a decades-old music collection of 1000s of albums, but still learn something new about Emby and music curation every day. E.g. when I first imported music into Emby, I had circa 500 albums too many, due to 'hidden' AlbumArtist tags being different from 'visible' Album Artist tags. This was not Emby's fault, it was due to tag errors with my embedded metadata. Correcting the errors resolved most of the problems. Yes, it took a while, but was worth it - I rediscovered some old music and fixed up some other missing metadata fields while listening to it! With Mp3tag it is also possible to create auto Actions and Scripting Functions to make updating and changing tags more automatic and less manual. There's a learning curve involved, but it can be a useful method for updating tags with a bit less pain. I have updated batches of 10,000 tracks by running an Action. Set it going and then go and do something else for a few hours! If you provide some more info, with actual examples, then perhaps Emby or a community member will be able to further assist? (Apologies if I have still misunderstood the problem.)

Using either the internal or external addresses listed on my server dashboard, I'm able to connect to my emby server. Using emby connect, I can sign in (as can my other family members) and see my server, but clicking on it produces an error (screenshot below). I know I could use the external ip address, but I don't have a static one, so it'd be a pain to update when it changes. Any ideas? Thanks

I read the instructions for sending a log directly from Emby for Android TV, but can't find "debug options". Attached is my cog menu.

I'll start by saying that I'm not affected by the device limit so to me it's not a big deal either way. And as long as the overall experience doesn't change I can understand a cost increase and/or changes to premiere options since there hasn't been much of a price change over the years. Maybe those calling the Emby team greedy or deceitful should consider this: Emby, the company and the product, have to navigate waters where the big media companies swim. These companies which include the well known big entertainment plus FAANG plus big communications can easily decide that Emby facilitates piracy and come after them. Their means of distribution in the app stores for all of the supported platforms are in one way or another tied to those companies in the media sphere. So I think Emby has to make a reasonable effort to prevent misuse of their product and be guarded about how this is achieved. Plex likely gets a pass because they've cozied up to big media and who knows what user data they've shared to stay in that "partnership". I wouldn't be surprised if there was a little arm twisting and light extortion in the mix and they caved for the sake of their survival. And as long as Plex continues to play the game they'll stay in big media's good graces. Jellyfin isn't a business so they probably don't have much to worry about. Emby Corp is not entirely off the hook and could be less evasive about the device limit details and retention among other things. I can't claim to know where that line is they don't want to cross.
