@Luke3.3.86 update still hasn't fixed it in case you want to know. Also, any chance to get a setting which puts the device at max brightness automatically when opening an image?

And in the server it says 'Thank you for donating..' like in the picture I posted above ?

I still am not convinced it is pinging my NetPVR server on my pc, I don't believe the plugin has such a dependency. Regardless, I have only 5 OTA channels of approximately 41 that I receive via antenna, so if it is doing "something", somehow to identify my, it is clearly not accomplishing the stated goal. Yes I do. Maybe I should just use that and forget Emby LOL

See description above for details... I added a new - never used tag called xyz to the user's block list. It had no effect and that user could still see all versions of Peter and the Wolf. I then went to a different title and added the xyz tag to its metadata (="Active" in use somewhere on the server). At that point the user could no longer see more than 2 of the versions of Peter and the Wolf. I went back to the other title and removed the xyz tag, meaning that no title on the server had that tag in its metadata (= "inactive" / not used anywhere). The user still could not see more than 2 versions of Peter and the Wolf. (I.e. it did not revert to its original behavior once the xyz tag was removed from the other title.) If the xyz tag was removed from the user's block list all versions were visible. If the xyz tag was re-added to the user's blocklist only 2 versions were visible even though the xyz tag was no longer in the metadata for any title on the server. If any tag that has been used in any title's metadata at any time (and doesn't need to be currently used anywhere) is present in a user's block list, then that user cannot see more than 2 versions of a given title on my server (in any client - Web, Roku, Android). Any number of tags in a user's block list that have never been used in any metadata it is OK and the user can see all versions available for a title, but once one or more tags that have ever been used in metadata (even if currently not present in any metadata) are included in a user's block list, that user can only see 2 versions available for a title, even though all versions of that title have no tags in their metadata (separated or grouped).

When Emby logs into NextPVR, it gets back a flag saying whether or not a donation has been registered on that NextPVR server. Emby then use that flag to determine what channels to give you. As emveepee suggested, the logs would be able to tell us more.
-
What do they ask when they call, to identify me, there is no common linkage.
-
@phulteendo you have NextPVR server installed ?
-
The two servers are connected by http and one of the API calls determines the donation state. If you post the Emby or NextPVR logs we can check the session.login call. The NextPVR server doesn't really care if you are an Emby user.

If you're doing it off your PC you can try Lossless Scaling in steam. There's an anime4k option that is probably what youre looking for since most anime is 1080p. YMMV but you can at least return it on steam if it doesn't work.

The NextPVR app where I made the donation and the Emby app where the NextPVR plugin is used and constrained by EMBY are completely separate, how does Emby make this determination? (They have not.) They have no way to link my donation from a separate app to their app. I don't see that they're making an inquiry of NextPVR as per my donation, if so, what criteria would they use to identify me as an Emby user being the same as a NextPVR user? FYI, I have restarted the Emby server and refreshed guide data countless times. I think the answer is that Emby is not able to fulfill this advertised feature.

how to search for subtitle keyword in emby
AwesomeVk47 replied to AwesomeVk47's topic in Android Server
Oh I got it...the show was recognised, but the episode format was wrong so it could not understand which episode I was searching for...I had to change some filenames in ther server and rescanned....and it worked.......still it would be nice if I could somehow just search for the keywords without opening up the server file manager.... -

how to search for subtitle keyword in emby
GrimReaper replied to AwesomeVk47's topic in Android Server
Has your show been identified? As query is made by episode/TV Show IMDBId/Hash/filename/season string, not by filename alone. -
Hello, Searching string: `barclays` Searching in explorer (gives 13 video files): Searching in Jellyfin (gives 13 video files): Searching in Emby (gives 1 video file): BTW Logs doesnt say anything as well: Thanks!

So I have a show I want to download the subtitle of, but the file name is just E01.mp4, and emby just uses that as a search query..so it shows completely unrelated results...is there any way I can input search query to search for the correct subtitles?

1971camaroguy started following Questions about the moving naming structure
-
I currently have all of my movies named by name and year "Back to the Future (1985)" and my trailers appended with -trailer at the end of that same name. I also have some multiples in the same folder named with that same structure but with -Directors Cut and -Theatrical Release. This works great .......I want to add some automation on my masking and the movie names are going to have to change to be able to output the aspect ratio I would think "Aliens (1979)_AR235" would still be fine but what about trailers and multiples? Would "Aliens (1979)-trailer_AR235" or "Aliens (1979)-Directors Cut_AR235" be ok? Won't cause anything to act wonky? I feel like it's going to make the drop down for the multiple say exactly what is after the dash.....including _AR235 Thanks for any advice on how to handle this...I could always put the different versions in it's own folder I guess.

A plugin cannot alter any Emby GUI. So the only way to do this would be to burn the logo into the video. I don't think anybody wants transcoding to happen just for the "channel logo overlay".
-
At the time of the guide refresh, the plugin checks if the program cache file has enough data for the next 48 hours. If not, then new data is added to the cache. But this new data is used with the next guide refresh, not the current one.

andrewds started following Emby web player overlaying lightening layer
-
Hello, Is there some setting that will overlay videos when they play in the web player so that they are lightened/washed out? I've seen it on different users on different computers (Windows) in Chrome. Not sure about other browsers. The overlay disappears when interacting with the player controls, for example by clicking on the settings icon in the player. Once the player controls are no longer actively being used (but still visible, and after hidden) the lightening overlay reappears. I've tinkered with the styles without any luck but honestly didn't spend a lot of time on it. Thanks for any feedback.
-
Hi, found it, it all works as intended now. I was looking only at the subtitle settings of the server and the subtitle settings that appear when playing a movie. My bad, thanks for the help!

BaronVonJ started following A single button to queue and play all movie extras
-
I can scroll through the list of extras and play individual ones, but I'd like a "Play All" button next to the "Extras" section header that will play all of them back to back. Some movies have a separate file for each deleted scene, but I don't want to have to keep scrolling and clicking through the list to play them all (and I don't want to simply merge them all into one file because then I lose the ability to just play a specific one). I also don't want to manually create a bunch of playlists to simulate this.

Photos - Slideshow Appears To Repeat After 150 Photos
Gilgamesh_48 replied to wixwonkity's topic in Roku
For as simple as the display of photos appears it seems that every interface has major problems that Emby is just incapable of effectively addressing. I guess we should be happy that mostly Emby works quite well and just "grin and bear it" in the parts that break regularly or never get addressed. -
curl -X GET "http://<IP-ADDRESS>:8096/emby/libraries/tv_shows/entries?api_key=${EMBY_TOKEN}"

I believe the alpha picker is either fine or completely FUBAR. Even in my browser there is no alphapicker in photos if browsing by photos but if browsing by folders it is fine. However the last 1/3 of the photos will not show when browsing by folder but will show when browsing by photos. So when browsing I can either have a perfectly working alphapicker and not be able to view 1/3 of my photos or I can view all my photos but have absolutely no alphapicker. <SIGH> FWIW: On my Rokus the photos are fine and the alphapicker works in all modes I have investigated. I think Emby has just not thoroughly debugged and usability tested the alphapicker across all interfaces. They must see it as unimportant because it works for most people most of the time. Lastly, it seems that, in spite of promises, Emby just refuses to add simple things to the Roku interface like the ability to favorite/unfavorite photos from the Roku interface. As good as the programming and user interface is for the Roku Emby just will not finish the product's user interface on the Roku. It gets very frustrating when we have the high quality we see combined with the extreme neglect we also see.
