Are there any plans for the emby team to maintain a home assistant integration? The current integration is very lacking compared to the plex and jellyfin integrations and the custom HACS addon https://github.com/rumbu13/ha-mediabrowser which is no longer developed has stopped working as of the 07.2025 home assistant update. Seriously considering moving to plex or jellyfin due to this

MUMC Multi-User Media Cleaner v3.2.0 Release
hieroglyph replied to hieroglyph's topic in Tools and Utilities
You tell MUMC which users and libraries to monitor. In the configuration manager you can choose to: Individually select users and libraries. Select only users; libraries automatically selected according to each user's access policy. Select only libraries; all selected libraries applied to all users according to each user's access policy. Select nothing; all libraries selected for all users according to each user's access policy. Open an issue in the MUMC github to get help. -
MUMC (Multi-User Media Cleaner) v5.11 Release MUMC (pronounced Mew-Mick) will query your Emby libraries for movies, tv episodes, audio tracks, and audiobooks. Then delete media items you no longer want taking up disk space. Cool! How Do I Use This? Install the latest release version. Customize your configuration yaml. Schedule MUMC to run periodically. Enjoy no longer worrying about how much disk space is left. How MUMC works: Use filter_statements or filter_tags to tell MUMC how to query your libraries for potential media_items ready to be deleted. filter_statements apply filters to specific media_types (e.g movies, episodes, audio, etc...). filter_tags use tags to apply filters to specific media_items and their children (e.g. movie, series, season, episode, album, audio, etc...). Use behavioral_statements or behavioral_tags to tell MUMC how to compare a media_item between one or more users to determine if it satisfies the criteria to be kept or deleted. behavioral_statements define the keep or delete criteria that applies to specific media_types (e.g movies, episodes, audio, etc...) and the specified conditional_behavior (favorited, whitetagged, blacktagged, whitelisted, blacklisted). behavioral_tags use tags define the keep or delete criteria that applies to specific media_items and their children (e.g. movie, series, season, episode, album, audio, etc...). Use the configuration builder/editor to select the desired combination of users and libraries. Individually select users and libraries. Select only users; all libraries automatically selected according to each user's access policy. Select only libraries; selected libraries applied to all users according to each user's access policy. Select nothing; all libraries selected for all users according to each user's access policy. Point MUMC to one or more instances of Radarr and Sonarr. When a media_item is deleted from Emby: Unmonitor and/or Delete movies, series, and episodes for Radarr/Sonarr. Configure how MUMC treats remaining episodes: Keep a minimum number of episodes regardless of played state. Keep a minimum number of played episodes to ensure the "Next Up" functionality works properly. Configure MUMC to keep or delete the remaining played episodes after the series has ended. Configure how MUMC matches a media_item to its blacklisted/whitelisted parent library: byId Default behavior. byPath Use when a library has subfolders that are blacklisted and subfolders that are whitelisted. byNetworkPath Use when a library has subfolders that are blacklisted and subfolders that are whitelisted. All subfolders must have a network share path defined.

embyforkodi (next-gen) 12.X.X support
dapharsyde replied to quickmic's topic in Emby For Kodi Next Gen
I am trying to delete files from Dynamic Nodes defined as Home Video & Photos content, but they are not being removed. Fwiw, I've raised this same issue with a previous version which was resolved here. Hopefully this is the same issue - if not, I can provide an updated log file. -
Fixed with the latest Onkyo firmware upgrade

No change using Jellyfin. Next I changed my DNS from my hosting provider to CloudFlare and despite that not showing and DDOS attacks or significant trafic, everything has been stable for the past 24 hours.

[Bug] Playlist Deletion After Windows Backup Restore Deletes Entire Emby Directory on Linux
ardinesh replied to ardinesh's topic in General/Windows
Ya, it does show access denied error but it actually deletes the directory which you will notice after you restart the server i.e. you will be greeted with fresh welcome/setup screen. -
Hi, can’t you just uninstall whichever the old one is?

[Bug] Playlist Deletion After Windows Backup Restore Deletes Entire Emby Directory on Linux
sa2000 replied to ardinesh's topic in General/Windows
I have just tried a test restore from windows onto ubuntu emby server and then went through a delete playlist The playlist path was similar to yours When attempting to delete that playlist on linux, there was a dialogue box asking for confirmation. In my test on emby server 4.9.1.4, it showed it was trying to delete /var/lib/emby and when i said go ahead, it failed with Access Denied So there is protection against this and in any case the use of the Backup and Restore plugins stipulates in the documentation here that all paths must remain the same. The only reference to changing platforms on restore is in the manual backup section and in this you are expected to handle each component yourself and you would need to manually edit the database I would agree with this -
I will be back soon with new code. Vic

Hi, not yet. On the todo list.
-
use case: watch any channel decide you want to record the show as a one time thing, click record then decide actually you'd rather not record this show, so you click record, it then moves to series record realize you really screwed up, so go to recording icon and hold down center button, a popup appears. you pick "cancel series". you think it'd stop recording the series but not the particular episode you're on. you'd be wrong, it appears to do nothing. then you hold down the center button again on the recording icon and select cancel recording. this will in fact stop the recording you're on. however, if you later decide that you want to record only this episode, and click the recording icon again on live tv, it will default to series recording on, and won't let you record only the episode you're on. you're stuck in the loop above. this seems like a bug?

I could be watching on one of many android devices. It'd be extra nice if there was a way to sync all my settings from one device to another. Server settings seem set up this way (modify once, effective everywhere) but individual apps not.

Hi all, posting despite a small fear of sounding like I have no idea what I'm talking about (I don't) but I couldn't find the answer anywhere else. I set up a test Emby server on my Windows PC while I didn't have my NAS at home, and later installed Emby on my NAS. Now I have the problem that the remote address is the exact same, which opens up the old server. I don't exactly wish to migrate (and don't have Premiere yet as I'm still figuring out Emby at the moment) so the backup & restore option doesn't seem to be what I'm looking for (I have set up the new server with different folders and media). I basically want the old server gone. Shutting it down also shuts down the one I'm hosting on my NAS, as well as disabling remote access, so it appears to be the same server with a different name + content? Could anyone more capable help me out? Thank you!

Thank You.

Unable to activate Emby Premiere on Linux (connection to license.emby.media refused)
Luke replied to SamyLa's topic in Linux
Please keep us posted on that. Thanks! -
Thanks! This was my issue as well. The plugin and their github do not say this is a required field so I left it blank. Now mine says emby.
