Hey, new forum user here. Have used emby for a few years. This is precisely how I'd imagine "extras" or specials work. Separated by season, displayed at the end of the episode list. It's a no-brainer. All files not following the episode naming scheme gets chucked into extras. Or files in an extras folder in each season. A "Season 0" makes no sense at all. If you absolutely need to have it in one folder, Display it last. After all seasons of a show. Kinda like how you'd watch it... afterwards. And I'm sure "extra" is some kind of latin for "put at the end"

Okay, so... in Now Playing in Emby, if I have a single-file m4b, the only way I can know what chapter I'm on is to mouseover the seek bar at the location where I'm at in the book. Also, can I just take the time to again point out how much screen real estate is wasted here by redundant cover art and descriptions: I don't know how else to point out how rough this UI is.

I enabled the video preview thumbnail feature and had kicked off the Extract Image Thumbnail scheduled task. It was running fine, but during that process, my drive accidentally dismounted with all my media. Emby of course then sped through the task. I checked the drive and only a few .bif files had been generated, so I tried to start it again. It is finishing now in 0 seconds without actually generating any files. How do I get it to recognize that none of the files were actually generated? I tried scanning my libraries, scanning the metadata folder, running the other scheduled tasks, nothing. Do I need to delete something from the database?

Understand, but for this particular issue its obvious. One dev worked with users to provide a usable design, another dev decides to ignore users. It's incredibly frustrating.

Can the above please have boxes for ticks please so that more than one can be enabled.

Actually, this has been an issue for years where one app does one thing and the others do not. So, everyone wants to compare Android to everything else. There is no universal dev standpoint across all platforms just similarities. So, if the time was taken to add to one then why not all?

I am asking for some insight as I think I have the answer but would like confirmation from the experts. My Sony X90L is connected through eARC to my receiver but Emby app does not pass TrueHD 7.1, it always just plays as stereo. it DOES pass standards 5.1 but none of the lossless formats. I have read that internal apps on TV's don't usually support Lossless audio formats (such as DTS-MA and TureHD .. and the such) . But Netflix app on the TV DOES send 7.1 through when playing 4k content. So I am little confused but expect t be told that SONY doe snot pay for lossless audio decoding but somehow the internal netflix, prime .. and such do ?

Yes testing this the Swagger api_key works but the generated api via UI does not. Only change to curl command was api key generated via UI and one via Swagger session. curl -X DELETE "http://localhost:8091/emby/Items?Ids={itemid}&api_key={apikey}" -d ""

It just seems so close to working.

I think the answer is obvious. It's the app managed by the dev who continues to ignore users.

Yes I did also see 9096 as the port being used in the logs from a client perspective, even though it says it's listening on 8096, so it seems to be redirecting the port I just don't see it on the config. Not familiar enough with the platform to understand how to set that up, hopefully someone else that uses TrueNAS Scale can chime in.

It goes back to the initial screen asking to log on, I can use emby connect or manually connect. Generally i connect manually to ensure https access, but my previous servers aren't in the history.

Probably the one that has you needlessly scrolling horizontally when webpages essentially have unlimited vertical space.

There would be minimum difference in performance, but one of them will use a lot more power. Pretty much all processors in the same "family" have the same ASICS so the only difference would be in regards to any processing that is not done via quicksync, so audio and PGS subs.

And an issue across the board when one client does its own thing. But not a TV app user so which client is defective?

My emby app on iOS randomly logs out, which is annoying but made more annoying by the fact that i need to enter the entire server path again. Can previous server history be kept so we can just click to auto complete instead of typing out every time?

Welcome to the club. Many of us are quite unhappy with this sudden design change. At best, we've just gotten a vague "more options to control this are possible for future updates" response. The Android TV client did it right: while it defaults to this new view, it also has an "All Items" button to enable to old view.

A suggestion for the restore process, currently we need to enter our premiere key before restore works. Would be nice if it could detect the backup was from a premiere system and allow restore.

It shouldn't! Collections are supposed to be content agnostic, and there is no design reason for them to be horizontal scrolling for any platform.
