Hi Luke.

Since the last update an hour ago, my library scan is stuck a ~27%.

When I look in the server log, there are tons of the following errors:

I thought it might have been the Trakt plugin as it had errors as well:

I have now removed that plugin, but the scan media library is still stuck at ~27%.

OK, this is Photos related AGAIN !!

I have removed my Photos library and the scan completed successfully.

Ever since ImageMagick was introduced, it's done nothing but cause problems working with my Photos library, which have been in MediaBrowser3 since day 1 !!

On Luke's advice, I had removed problem folders that caused the library scan to stick on previous dev releases and didn't have any issues until today.

Can we please go back to the previous image provider as there were never any issues with that.

I now do not have any Photos in my server, which I am not best pleased about.

I do not have the time to pick through all of the folders again, so something needs to be identified with the server build and put right.

Sorry for the rant, but not happy !!

OK, I have updated my development system to the latest beta (v3.0.5572.0), and the exact same content as my production server, and the library scan completes without issue.

So, something is definitely broken in v3.0.5573.17762.

It was OK BEFORE the latest dev build as well.

Was just about to post that mine still gets stuck at the same point on v3.0.5573.41025.

The beta is still working fine.

@@Luke - do you have any idea what's wrong please?

This only started happening yesterday after the dev build was released.

Something is definitely wrong with the photo provider as up to that release, everything that I had validated as working since it all went wrong a couple of weeks ago, was working fine.

This is the last photo provider info in the log, at which point the scan sticks without progressing further:

2015-04-06 09:59:14.0661 Debug - App: Running PhotoAlbumImageProvider for \\MEDIASERVER-3\Photos\2005\05. May - 2005\Chatham Dockyard

As I have repeatedly stated, ALL of my photos were in MB and working OK before you implemented ImageMagick.

Please give this some of your time as this is very frustrating.

Thanks.

These messages always seem to appear as the scan hangs.

As you can see, the library scan never finishes.

To add to this, This started to happen to me as well (see image for last log line mentioning the scan) And it also always stalls at the same % with this line

Included in the picture is the content of said folder, Should i add anything else? (I noticed last night there was an update to imagemagic, I'm simply wondering if EMBY is trying to get the info from the folder and not from an image)

The path added to the library for pictures is 192.168.1.16\blandat\Pictures

And this path is a folder in a folder, Will try moving them up a level and see if that fixes it!

Q4rgMPR.png'

*edit* Lifted up said folders and it got through that part on the next scan, stuck on some other folders - rinse and repeat (My images is a mess) But doing this a couple of times It ran through without a hitch, could it be that we have folders in our folders and it's trying to get image information from a folder and not the image itself?

@@CBers could it be that you have folders in folders as well?(mixed with images on certain levels) @@Luke with this added information are you able to duplicate the behavior?

How many folders/Photos do you have @@Beardyname.

I'm wondering if it's timing out traversing the folder structure, although if I go into my Photos library in EMBY, I believe they're all there, just not sure in what state.

I have my Photos arranged thus.

Photos/Year/Month/Event

At all levels there could be videos and/or photos.

Around 4k in no particular order :) But mine ran through just fine after lifting it up to only photos_location/Foldername/ <- bunch of images goes here

Lets see if luke can make out something with this new information!

I have over 22,000 photos, in order error 250 sub and sub/sub folders etc.

Too many to reorganise.

I tried cutting them down by only had a few at a time, but it was still failing.

Yep I do think multiple folder levels should be supported, but until we can make sure this is actually what's causing the problem i would recommend against moving your structure!

*edit* I'm wondering it it has to do with that awesome new dynamic image thing for folders/groups in combination with folders in a folder depth.

I'm looking into the memory management of the imagemagick stuff. Found some leaks already but nothing that I would expect to corrupt memory like you are seeing. What plugins do you use? Can you try removing them all if you use any and report back.
