hstamas 179 Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 I have another post out about this, and waiting for a response ... in the meantime, by any chance are the folders in question on a networked drive, or a local drive? I suspect that networked drives cannot be monitored in real time, for some reason ... although it works on Plex. I've never been able to get realtime monitoring working in Emby. All my media drives are NAS, none of them are local drives. In my case they are all direct attached drives
azweig16 0 Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 Trying to set up for the first time, every time I try to set up, I open the app, it flashes in the dock then disappears. I have no idea what's going on with it for me to even set up. When I try to delete the application, it says its open. Please help!

azweig16 0 Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 No I did not, are there instructions for first time setup? I didn’t see anything anywhere

jscoys 147 Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 Hello guys, question: Is there a pre-requisite for the MacOS version? Like minimum is El Capitan? I have an old Mac Mini and the only last OS I can install is El Capitan, so if you explained me that El Capitan won't be supported in 6 months, I should not install my Emby Server on it... Thx in advance for your answer!
jscoys 147 Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 Oh shit so I can’t... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Luke 42077 Posted January 16, 2018 Author Posted January 16, 2018 Maybe you can: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/52474-emby-for-osx-10116-update/

AgostinoMedia 3 Posted October 15, 2025 Posted October 15, 2025 Hi, I have 2 things I'd like to mention and ask. 1) thank you for making loading an IPTV link so easy. I was trying to find a way to watch on Fire Stick, and then I wondered whether Emby supports IPTV and discovering that it did made my day. Thank you. What my question about this is, is can I close the server running on my mac and just load the app on Fire Stick? Or do I need to keep my mac server running now that i've set it up? 2) For playing media outside my home network, does Emby still require that I set up an IP or something? Or has that thing changed since since the last time I checked this forum? over a year ago.

So yes that means it needs to be accessible remotely for remote access. 1
