muiz 41 Posted Sunday at 11:35 AM Author Posted Sunday at 11:35 AM (edited) Optional : Cause of a limitation of Emby : Docker **Docker: "Tile opens Discover page" shows "read-only"** In Docker, the web client folder `/system/dashboard-ui` is read-only for the container user, so the diagnostic shows: > Tile "Discover Media" -> Discover page: not possible: the web client folder is read-only The Discover page and request buttons still work. Only the tile shortcut is affected (browser only, not the Emby apps). **Fix (Docker Compose)** 1. Copy the web client out of the container (adjust names, paths, UID/GID): ``` docker cp <container>:/system/dashboard-ui /path/to/config/dashboard-ui chown -R <UID>:<GID> /path/to/config/dashboard-ui ``` 2. Add a writable bind mount to your compose file: ``` services: emby: volumes: - /path/to/config:/config - /path/to/config/dashboard-ui:/system/dashboard-ui:rw ``` 3. Apply it: ``` docker compose up -d ``` 4. Enable "Tile opens Discover page" in the plugin settings. The diagnostic should now show [ OK ]. **Notes** - Do step 1 before step 2. An empty bind mount breaks the web UI. - <UID>:<GID> must match the UID/GID environment variables of your container. - After an Emby update, refresh the folder from the new image, or the web client stays outdated. Windows : **Windows: "Tile opens Discover page" shows "read-only" / access denied** Emby needs write access to its web client folder `dashboard-ui` to add a small loader script to `index.html`. On Windows this fails when Emby runs as a service under an account that cannot write there, or when it is installed under `C:\Program Files`. The Discover page and request buttons still work; only the tile shortcut is affected (browser only, not the Emby apps). **Fix A: give write access** 1. Find the folder. Default: `%AppData%\Emby-Server\system\dashboard-ui` (or `dashboard-ui` under your Emby install folder). 2. Find the account Emby runs as (Services → Emby Server → Log On, or Task Manager → Details → `EmbyServer.exe`). 3. In an elevated Command Prompt, grant Modify rights (adjust the path and account): ``` icacls "C:\path\to\dashboard-ui" /grant "DOMAIN\EmbyUser:(OI)(CI)M" /T ``` For a service running as Local System or Network Service, use `"NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM"` or `"NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE"`. 4. Restart Emby Server and run the plugin diagnostic again. The tile line should show [ OK ]. **Fix B: use a writable copy** 1. Copy the whole `dashboard-ui` folder to a writable location, for example `D:\EmbyData\dashboard-ui`, and give the Emby account Modify rights on it. 2. Enter that path as "Web client path" in the plugin settings. **Notes** - After an Emby update, the web client may be replaced. Re-copy the folder (Fix or check the tile setting again (Fix A). - Do not post API keys from the diagnostics report. - Alternative: copy the folder anywhere writable and set it as "Web client path" in the plugin settings. muiz 41 Posted 21 hours ago Author Posted 21 hours ago 1.3.4.7 1. Request seasons (biggest change) In the Discover popup, series now have a button per season ("Season 1", "Season 2", …) plus an "All seasons" button. Seasons already in your library show a ✓ and can't be clicked. In the channel (TV apps) there is a new "All seasons" folder. Press ▶ to request all seasons at once, including seasons that air later. In the selection dialog the buttons are now "Select all", "Request all seasons" and "Request selected". If you request a series that is already in Sonarr, Sonarr now monitors all seasons (except specials) and searches for missing episodes that have already aired. 2. User permissions New "Users" tab in the settings: choose who may make requests, with "Allow everyone" and "Allow nobody" buttons. Users without permission can still browse and watch trailers. Their requests are not sent to Radarr or Sonarr and they get the message "You are not allowed to make requests. Ask the administrator." New users are allowed to request by default. Removing or cancelling requests is now also allowed for users with the Emby "delete content" permission, not only admins. 3. Cache management New "Storage" tab with these settings: keep card clips (days, default 14) keep tile images (days, default 30) maximum cache size in MB (default 2048) "pre-create cards" (off by default) Cleanup runs automatically 2 minutes after startup and then every 24 hours. There are also "Clean now" and "Delete all" buttons. Two new API routes: /Discover/Cache and /Discover/Cache/Clean (admins only). 4. Tabbed settings page The long settings page is split into six tabs: General · TMDB · Radarr & Sonarr · Users · Storage · Diagnostics. 5. Discover page Row titles are clickable and open the whole row as a grid with "Load more". Genre tiles get a background photo (cached in the browser for a week). On mobile/narrow screens: 3-column grid and a popup that fits better. Row arrow buttons are now yellow so they are easier to see. For series you already have, the popup has an "Open in Emby" button. The "Channel tiles" button is removed. Emby.Plugins.Discover.dll 1
