muiz 21 Posted Monday at 09:41 PM Posted Monday at 09:41 PM (edited) Emby Discover — browse movies and series, request them through Radarr or Sonarr Emby Discover adds a channel and web page for discovering movies and series using TMDB. Browse popular, trending and upcoming titles, watch trailers, and send requests to Radarr or Sonarr. Current version: 1.0.37.0 beta Tested with: Emby Server 4.11.0.9 DOWNLOAD Plugin DLL: https://github.com/mrmuiz/Discover-Media/releases/download/v1.0.37-beta/Emby.Plugins.Discover.dll Release notes and matching source code: https://github.com/mrmuiz/Discover-Media/releases/tag/v1.0.37-beta GitHub repository: https://github.com/mrmuiz/Discover-Media FEATURES - Browse popular, trending and upcoming movies and series, genres, studios and networks. - Search and explore titles from the Discover page in the Emby web client. - Send movie requests to Radarr and series requests to Sonarr. - Use the web client's Request button on supported title pages. For series, choose which seasons to monitor. - Watch trailers from Trailer items. And also request from the trailerpage. - See whether a title is already requested or available when it can be matched in Radarr or Sonarr. - TV apps and other clients without the web button can use Play on a Request item to submit the request. Version 1.0.37.0 fixes Request button placement. If Emby's detail-button row loads late, the button moves from its temporary position to beside Play. REQUIREMENTS - Emby Server. Version 4.11.0.9 has been tested; other versions may work but have not all been tested. - A TMDB API key: https://www.themoviedb.org/settings/api - Radarr for movie requests and/or Sonarr for series requests. INSTALLATION 1. Stop Emby Server. 2. Copy Emby.Plugins.Discover.dll into Emby's plugins data folder. 3. Remove older Discover DLL copies so only one version remains. 4. Start Emby Server. 5. Open Dashboard > Plugins > Discover. Enter your TMDB API key and Radarr/Sonarr connection details, test the connections, select a quality profile and root folder, then save. 6. Make sure the intended Emby users have permission to access channels. 7. Open Discover once in the Emby web client to activate the Request button in that browser. The browser button script is included in the DLL and served by the plugin. A normal installation does not require a separate JavaScript download, editing Emby's index.html, or changing permissions on Emby's web-client folders. For Docker, use Radarr and Sonarr addresses reachable from the Emby container. “localhost” usually refers to the Emby container itself. EMPTY CHANNEL LISTS? In Emby's Dashboard, open Scheduled Tasks, run Refresh Internet Channels, and let the task finish. Then reopen the Discover Media channel. TROUBLESHOOTING Open Dashboard > Plugins > Discover > Status and diagnostics. When reporting a problem, include your Emby Server version, client type and relevant diagnostics. Remove API keys and other secrets before posting. Emby Discover uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. It is not affiliated with Emby, Radarr or Sonarr. Im verry new to this, so please take note of that. Edited Monday at 09:59 PM by muiz
muiz 21 Posted Tuesday at 07:24 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 07:24 PM Running in to a small problem. unless a user doesnt open the Discover tab/page one time the buttons dont show. So that can be a problem. Unless Allow Emby to update its web-client file The Discover plugin can add its Request-button loader to Emby’s index.html. If Emby reports “Access denied,” the Emby service account needs write access to that file only. Do not make the whole web-client folder writable. Docker (Linux or NAS) Run these commands on the Docker host. Replace CONTAINER with your Emby container name. First, check which user the container’s default command uses: docker exec CONTAINER id Use the UID and GID for the account running Emby. For example, UID 1026 and GID 100 are written as 1026:100. These numbers vary between installations. If the container’s default user is not the Emby process user, check the Emby process’s UID and GID instead. Then grant that user ownership of the file: docker exec -u 0 CONTAINER chown UID:GID /system/dashboard-ui/index.html Example only: docker exec -u 0 embytest chown 1026:100 /system/dashboard-ui/index.html Restart the Emby container afterward. If the file is on a read-only mount, make the mount writable or change the host file instead. Linux (without Docker) Find the account running Emby, then grant it ownership of the diagnosed index.html file: sudo chown emby:emby "/full/path/to/index.html" Replace emby:emby and the path with the actual Emby account and file path. Windows In Services, find the Emby Server service and note the account shown under “Log On As.” Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run: icacls "C:\full\path\to\index.html" /grant "ACCOUNT:(W)" Replace the path and ACCOUNT with the actual file path and service account. Restart Emby afterward. The plugin’s diagnostics show the index.html path it is trying to update. The Docker IDs and paths above are examples; use the values for your own server. Isnt there another way?? I tried to let the script do this, but its imposseble so it seems.
muiz 21 Posted 8 hours ago Author Posted 8 hours ago I think i got it fixed. To bad Emby has many limitations for plugins. https://github.com/mrmuiz/Discover-Media/releases/tag/1.0.37.75-beta Importand: do a l"Internet channel refresh" And let it run. It takes a while to fill !!
muiz 21 Posted 7 hours ago Author Posted 7 hours ago https://github.com/mrmuiz/Discover-Media/releases#release-1.0.37.76-beta This should work for English, Dutch, German.
