amck24 5 Posted March 27 Posted March 27 Anyone know why I am getting this error? The read and write permissions are good. I am trying to set up my Nvidia Shield.
Luke 42412 Posted April 8 Posted April 8 It should be part of the dialog that you're showing in your screenshot.
Luke 42412 Posted April 12 Posted April 12 HI, it's not a username and password for the hard drive, it's for the network share. the path you entered is a network path. are you sure that is the right path to your drive?
amck24 5 Posted April 12 Author Posted April 12 Yes I use the same path on Plex. I can't get my head around this one.
amck24 5 Posted April 13 Author Posted April 13 Yeah it's plugged into the shield and I have the sever on the shield also.
Luke 42412 Posted April 13 Posted April 13 But where did you get that folder path from? \\192.168.0.6\shield tv\... Is that shared over the network?
amck24 5 Posted April 13 Author Posted April 13 Yes this is the address which I use to transfer media from the PC to the device. Paths like storage on emby doesn't open when I click on it on emby so I tried the path above instead, but no luck.
Luke 42412 Posted April 13 Posted April 13 It is a network path though, so what are the network credentials for it?
sa2000 731 Posted April 13 Posted April 13 If the media is on the Nvidia Shield and Emby Server is also on the same Nvidia Shield then you ought to use local filesystem paths and not unc with ip address 1
sa2000 731 Posted April 13 Posted April 13 and this shows path options - including one for a USB HDD as well as the internal
amck24 5 Posted April 13 Author Posted April 13 (edited) I tried this also. Nothing happens when I click on storage, but other paths like (network) etc open fine. I am willing to screen share; is it possible to have a look? Edited April 13 by amck24

I am willing to screen share; is it possible to have a look? Which version of Emby Server did you install on the NVIDIA SHIELD ? When you launch it after the install, you should get this prompt to give access to the filesystem Did you see this ? After selecting "OK" you would then get this prompt which you need to answer with YES Giving the access then allows you to access the local storage These screenshots are from installing the current public release 4.9.3.0
amck24 5 Posted April 14 Author Posted April 14 Yeah just done that there just now, I uninstalled then re-installed again. I am at the library stage again and when I click on storage nothing happens.
sa2000 731 Posted April 14 Posted April 14 So you selected OK for the first and then YES for the second ? could you download the emby server log for that test and attach here please See How to Report a Problem If you have not restarted emby server or the shield since your test, it would be embyserver.txt otherwise it would be an earlier log file and would have name of form embyserver-xxxxxxxxx.txt
sa2000 731 Posted April 14 Posted April 14 and could you include screenshots please of what paths are visible when you select Add Folder for a new library you can scroll down and take a couple of screenshots
sa2000 731 Posted April 14 Posted April 14 I will have a look at the log Your external storage (USB Drive) is /storage/BE6D-992A and your internal storage is /storage/emulated/0 If you have media folders below these paths then you should be able to see them wjhen you select these paths
