Zenith Media 7 Posted March 5 Author Posted March 5 Start what? emby, it will not start. Keeps saying as the screenshot sent.
pwhodges 2028 Posted March 5 Posted March 5 (edited) If you open a command line, navigate to the C:\Users\<your user>\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server directory (or wherever it's installed on your machine) and type embyserver.exe, what error message do you get? Do you get an entry in the Windows Event Log? Paul Edited March 5 by pwhodges
Zenith Media 7 Posted March 5 Author Posted March 5 Okay. I as you pointed out. It did create a event log within emby-server-programdata-logs.
Zenith Media 7 Posted March 5 Author Posted March 5 It is still saying local host refused to connect.
Neminem 1605 Posted March 5 Posted March 5 (edited) Is it showing in you task manager? If not then its not running. Edited March 5 by Neminem
darkassassin07 672 Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Is EMBY SERVER showing running in TaskManager. If not, you need to start it. It should be located at C:\Users\<your user>\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server If you start it, try to connect, and still can't; grab the new log file (it will have overwritten the previous embyserver.txt file you grabbed earlier) and post it here again.
Neminem 1605 Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Hmm that's odd. Can you show a screenshot? Need more info to help. What happened when it stopped working? ( Windows update? install software? VPN install? ) any detail is not too small.) Every thing, does not come out of nothing.
Zenith Media 7 Posted March 5 Author Posted March 5 In the task manager, emby is showing as embytray.
Zenith Media 7 Posted March 5 Author Posted March 5 No VPN is connected. Windows, Google functions normal. No, no updates.

Emby tray is not emby server. (it's a sub process, but not the server itself) So the answer is NO emby server is not running. Start it, try to connect, then post the new log file.
Zenith Media 7 Posted March 5 Author Posted March 5 I can not start the server because I can not get to the server. The server says it can not load.
Zenith Media 7 Posted March 5 Author Posted March 5 This site can’t be reached localhost refused to connect.
Zenith Media 7 Posted March 5 Author Posted March 5 (edited) Clicked on server and emby tray comes up in task manager. Edited March 5 by Zenith Media
darkassassin07 672 Posted March 5 Posted March 5 YOU DO NOT START A SERVER VIA A WEB BROWSER Open the damn folder you've been given and run the exe file inside like every other program you start on a computer, and like you've been told to multiple times now. 26 minutes ago, darkassassin07 said: Is EMBY SERVER showing running in TaskManager. Luke 42208 Posted March 5 Posted March 5 By the way you can get log files directly from the server logs folder: How to Report a Problem That would be extremely helpful. Most likely the issue is the plugins that you are running. I saw a similar report from a user yesterday and he resolved it either by removing or reconfiguring the plugins.
js28194 41 Posted March 5 Posted March 5 (edited) Refund him/her and move on? <sigh> Emby team should consider selling support tickets. Edited March 5 by js28194 1 1
Apotropaic 51 Posted March 5 Posted March 5 (edited) Dude, I don’t know if you’re trolling us all but you’ve got a lot of people who are trying to help you here. No detail is too small and show us what IP address your browser is trying to connect to. Edited March 5 by Apotropaic 1
js28194 41 Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Back on page 2, OP did state he/she/it went into windows firewall and uncheck some things so thats another vector to consider.
