So, my kid watched some cartoons with emby. Couple of hours later, i wanted to login to server to cleanup metadata. Connection refused, network error bla bla.

I don't have firewall. It seem that emby just went down. In qnap app center i choose to stop emby server and than run it again. After that he came to life again, but how long i don't no.

The log you provided covered period 2025-11-08 01:14:47 am to 01:20:49 am

I do not see any evidence of failure to connect to the server

What time was your error

How were you accessing the server ? through a browser ? what url was used ?

could you give a screenshot and time and log covering that period

I see there are two IP addresses. Is one for a vpn ?

   "IPAddress": "192.168.178.18",

   "IPAddress": "100.70.109.24",

If there is a vpn, could you try without it

Are you accessing the server from within the 192.168.178.xx subnet ?

Yes, it's tailscale. This works together with emby without issue on Synology. I'm gonna try to turn it off now and see at the mornig if that helps

great. So was it the tailscale vpn?

There are some notes on this support document about vpn and network settings - Network Setup

There is also mention in this article Connecting from Client Apps

Another option may be to set the local IP under the Network options.  I would imagine it would lock to the local address if you entered it.

I played with this and you can have the server use tailnet or not.  I was testing to see if it worked with my setup but the Roku networking has issues with it.

Set it back to dhcp ip and all worked OK again.
