Why nothing shows up in the 'trailers' section?
hjason7812 replied to KumarjitDey's topic in Windows & Xbox
Update last 2 updates brought the trailer section back once again.. Thank you -
The final subtitle files do not include the name of the TV show or movie. However, they are a child folder within the parent folder that is the TV or movie. Is it still necessary to make sure that the individual subtitle file name includes the TV show or movie?. If so, it is strange to me that some of these files were packaged how they were. Can @Lukeconfirm?

Home screen section custom selection of libraries
vdb86 replied to vdb86's topic in Feature Requests
The current home screen design doesn't allow vertical scrolling or even wrap around effect due to how it was coded. This can be fixed, but my guess it's not a priority and might require that part to be completely rewritten as it was initially designed to be used as line widgets (or sections) and not as a thumbnail vertical scrolling list. My suggestion from the first post focuses on current functionality while adding another option, to choose which libraries will be shown on which line of the home screen. As I wrote above in the example, on the first line it would be 2 libraries, then on the second line another 2 libraries, etc. Per app means I could have my normal homescreen on TV with all libraries horizontally presented, while on my phone I could have them presented in 2 or 3 lines and have them all visible in portrait mode. -

To Emby dev: Please note that logs posted here publicly still contain information that should be redacted (as it's already done with x_secret_x). In the log above, we have the server public IP address of the server in the content of the HTML page returned by Cloudflare for Open Subtitles (difficult to clean as we don't know the content of the page, so I suggest filtering out anything resembling an IP address) : <span class="hidden" id="cf-footer-ip">xxx.xx.xxx.xxx</span> We also have a user's public IP address: Its username: And its access id - I don't know if this is important and if it allows authentication on the server. - : Here we also have an email address: There's also the server URL in the PDF title and header, but I imagine this is a user error. -
ADM - Adult Metadata for Adult Movies - *OFFLINE due to Law Changes*
mickle026 replied to mickle026's topic in Plugins
Maybe so in the description, bit it doesn't change the fact that I have to comply with this law. The easiest thing to do for me is just switch it off, it's doesn't make me anything, but does cost a little. I don't use it at all. It was made to fill a space whilst I learned plugin development and other programming techniques. - Today

Every download link contains an API key
playingbball20 replied to VoidEmperor's topic in Developer API
I logged off last night but I didn't realize I was logged into 2 places with my username. -
This is good news as mine hasn't updated since some time in 2024. My better half has been nattering at me to "just fix it"! I'm showing 4.8.11 on my server. Any estimated timetable for 4.9 release?

ADM - Adult Metadata for Adult Movies - *OFFLINE due to Law Changes*

The covers, sure. But the textual overviews are specifically exempt from the rule. emphasis mine -
@Lukethen I guess my thread shouldn't have been closed. It was this one: I've just finished up working on the homesections.js and not correctly works with sliders, pagination and filtering based off of available genres and such so I'm really curious to see what you guys think.
-
When you do a log out, the api key in that url will be invalidated.
-
Sure, but it really wouldn't be because the smart playlist rules will be saved on the server. It's not something that would be built client-side.
-
@ebrdirected me to this thread. My idea is something similar to this, but can already be implemented without any radical changes. In my case I wanted a way for Emby to show the unwatched content from any random genre and I've been able to add this myself by modifying the `homesections.js` file to support a section called `randommediabygenre`. My snippet only adds the section to the local server tho and always overrides the first section so it's more of a proof-of-concept. @LukeIs it okay for me to add an example of my modified `homesections.js` so you guys can check if it's a feasible implementation?

Home screen section custom selection of libraries
visproduction replied to vdb86's topic in Feature Requests
Vd, What are you asking to do? It's not clear. Movies and TV Shows appear in different library types. Do you want both libraries to be all mixed in one row? This is more a design function of collections or playlists. You can make any collection you like and turn the collections posters on for the home page. Users can click once and get into any collection with any mix that you like. The order of the collections can be controlled with metadata / sort title and then choose to present collection by title. What does per app vs. global mean? The home page design is primarily horizontal scrolling. Users can flip their phone or tablet to landscape and see more posters per row. The libraries all scroll downward. These two different formats means that the user can easily notice if they are on the home screen or in a library. If you make the home screen scroll only downward it could cause confusion. I think that was perhaps one reason to make the home page scroll left to right. I did not design it. This is a guess. It is more standard to have a home page scroll horizontal and libraries scroll vertically. I think you will find that on all social media sites. Changing this would be going against the expected design and I think it would be a bad idea, in my opinion. -
To use an M3U file, just copy the M3U URL and paste it into an Iplayer like VLC, IPTV Smarters, . It will automatically load the channels listed in the file. No need to download anything — just stream directly from the link.

playingbball20 replied to VoidEmperor's topic in Developer API
I'll see if I can re-up this post. I want able to edit a post which has my API key in it. However. I deleted all of my API keys and I'm still able to open Emby with the API key. Is there anyway to delete that key? I am using docker, but I couldn't find anywhere that API key is stored at. -
Emby Docker Not Detecting Nvidia GPU for Transcoding

Hi, Will do. I'm about to step out so it will be the following day before I get to do this. -
U84, List the directories and file names. Subtitles appear when you following the subtitle naming guide. If you miss following the naming guide by one character in a file name, the subtitle will not appear. I am not aware of the new supported feature for /Subs directory.

Thanks for following up. As part of the upcoming 4.9 server release, when you create a new user and leading or trailing spaces will be stripped off automatically, so this won't happen again.
-
HI, are you able to install our native package directly on the host machine to see how that compares?

For those of us with older servers it's cheap and easy to buy a low profile dedicated GPU and drop it in there then it is to upgrade the server. You really don't need the latest and greatest to run something like Emby, at least for a household and not too many parallel streams. OS: Ubuntu Server 24.04 LTS CPU: Xeon E5645 @ 2.40GHz x2 Motherboard: Supermicro X8DTN+ RAM: 48GB GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Storage: A little complicated since this server is used for quite a few things. 11x12TB, 12x6TB, 1x120GB SSD, 3x3TB, and 3x24TB; spread over a 12 bay back plane and a 24 bay disk shelf. For Emby concerns, there is 215TB for bulk storage of media, and a shared 6TB of fast storage for Emby itself. Clients: 5 in-home devices, 6 if you count music-only. 1 remote. Library: 1970 movies, 1956/51630 shows/episodes. A large portion of which is from my own owned media, remuxed by myself. Granted, most of my clients do not need to transcode and can directly play most things. I simply don't see the need/want to "downgrade" via transcoding media that I purchase and remux to have in the highest quality available.
