I was curious about this, as I shuffle music a lot (though mainly from different starting points). From some brief experimenting, yes, I think there is some 'weirdness' happening with the various random shuffle modes now: Shuffle all, from the Songs tab, appears to be working as expected. Shuffle all from the Albums tab, returns some strange results. Previously (Emby 4.7.x) it would return a random order of whole albums, as best as I recall. Now (Emby 4.8.5.0) it starts with a random order of whole albums, but then changes to a mix of two albums only, then completely random songs, then back to two albums mixed, then one album all together..... Shuffle all, from the Album Artists tab, also returns weird results, similar to the Albums shuffle all above. I do not think this is 'normal' at all (it doesn't greatly concern me though as I don't use the Album shuffle all mode greatly). If I have time a bit later on, I may experiment some more and provide more exact detailed examples with screenshots. In the meantime, it may be worth Emby having a quick look to see if Shuffle is actually working correctly across the different tabs... it should be easy to replicate what I have described...

Seems like cause for a feature request: On the Albums tab, shuffle albums (keep album song order) On the Artist tab, shuffle by artist (randomize artist songs... unclear what is desirable here).

I agree with MangoBro. I too have an LG TV and at this point Emby is worthless for movies because most of them are in DTS and I can't hear them. I an option to manually select audio formats would be fantastic even if it is an advanced option like others within Emby.

I think it appears like after you start scrolling down iirc. But yes the appletv app is worthless doesn’t support Dolby vision either.

So I setup a new server recently and restored from a backup using the plugin from the old server and rsynced over all the media. And I'm having a weird issue where the Movies library detects no items after a full scan, I have to do a refresh metadata on the library for the movies to appear but then any subsequent library scan wipes them all out again. What makes this odd is that the issue didn't exist on the prior server and all the files are the same. I have the files inside the Emby users home folder and I already did chown emby:emby on all the media. I thought it might be an issue with hardware transcoding so I updated gpu drivers and double checked that it was working properly. Issue on Roku persists. Just sent another log. as of like 20 seconds ago

My reasoning was if the mediastream count == 0 then it has not been scanned yet but as you have pointed out if there are other local items in the path these are probably being picked up as streams and it will be > 0 but still not be scanned. there was probably a reason at the time but I dont remember.

If I add [] or some special character I can put text without the system identifying it as something, for example the name of the actress and the day and month, things that the system does not interpret, at least not yet.

Hi, On certain albums (seems like albums with multiple discs) the iOS client will get confused about which track to play. For example if I play track 2 on disc 1 it will play track 2 on disc 2. An example album I have is the 2017 2 disc 'The Joshua Tree' album. I haven't seen the bug on the desktop or web clients.

Probably need to see a server log showing the issues as I am note seeing any issue with Cinema trailers or custom intros.

I sent the log from my android fire tv device. At 5:00 pm central so that would be 6:00 pm eastern or 1:00 UTC-5 I was trying to play the show “The Gentlemen” got a buffering screen then a too many error giving up message. Also some of the shows I was watching are no longer in my queue or library “King of the hill” was the show I was watching and can no longer find it on the app for android fire tv name on the server is Spencer Riley

Hi @Carlo I have just been reading all the comments in this thread as I am looking to shutdown my dedicated remote server due to costs and run locally but I have a Vodafone 5G sim in a Teltonika RUTX50 5G router which works amazingly well with 50mb+ upload speeds but yes, you guessed it I cannot forward any ports. Did you ever get a chance to write those guides? I would love to move my embyserver to my local unraid server if possible but am not confident in these types of configs without a guide. *UPDATE* I have just seen that SpaceInvaderOne has released a video on creating a cloudflare tunnel, would it be ok to just follow that or are there security issues, data streaming limits etc? stats show hardware acceleration as blank or no for 4K HEVC files?? Why would this be the case. 1080P H264 files show hardware acceleration as working?? Any ideas. Very frustrating. Could do with the new app now

When I try to play a show it gets stuck buffering then sends a message saying too many errors. also some of the shows I was watching I can no longer find in my library anywhere

I installed Arm7 APK Emby on Google TV and it is working ok too. it will open and close.. it was google play app that had the trouble loading Emby if dev need to look into it..

I installed Arm7 APK on the NVIDIA shield devise and it did work OK. it will open the app after closing it... is working now with APK. i will test it next on Google TV and see.

I am trying to load a multi-part movie, but if I add any data beyond the part# or Disc# it takes it as a split, the question is how can I put additional information without it taking a part or disc as if It was a different version of the movie Example: Die Hard (1988)-part1 Die Hard (1988)-part1-Bruce Willis-Action when bruce willis and action are extra data and not part of the naming Die Hard (1988) Die Hard (1988) Die Hard (1988)

FYI The Artist view in Genre returns incorrect data IMO (The tags are correct so don't even go there ) This is part of my "JAZZ" artists As long as Ludwig shows up it is incorrect, IMO -vicpa
